  1. So I had a big cyst and it left a hole that has been slooooowly healing. I'm about 5 or 6 weeks into healing now. There is still redness and even a little sensitivity at the center (it is closed)...the indentation is gradually rising, but I'm not sure if it's going to make it all the way (?). Staring "atrophy" right in the face. No pun intended... In the case it doesn't and I'm left with some sort of rolling indentation, I've been reading up on my options to treat. I've seen a number of posts
  2. So I am 18 and i still have some active acne but i am wondering if the marks on my face are indented scars or just pigmentation. I started useing differin 5 weeks ago for the acne, will that combat these marks, and if they are scars will differin even them out?
  3. So about a week, maybe 5 days ago, I got three zits on my cheek pretty close to my mouth which as you can see left marks. they weren't at all big/painful zits, they came to a head and scabbed over in a day or so, but then left these marks. Sometimes i look at them in mirrors/etc and they look really indented, so i took this picture in natural light to try and capture that, sorry im kinda sweaty from basketball. does these look really indented to you or are they just red marks/recent wounds? w
  4. Hello everyone, Spring break i suffered with a hormonal break out that left me with a few indented scars that are a mix between boxcars and icepicks. Anyways, Currently i have been applying tea tree oil to the scars to make that skin dry out and cause it to peel the next day. This has caused the scarred skin to dry out forcing the skin to peel. It is helping immensely to "fill in" or create new skin to replace the existing dried scar tissue once it peels off. I thought that this needed to be a
  5. Hi, I'm keen to treat a single red and indented acne scar (3 months old) and I'm now 40 so wondering what will work on mature skin? I'd really like this scar treated as I think I made the healing cyst worse by over exfoliating when I was stressed one day so seeing it in the mirror is a constant reminder of that day. I only want the scar area treated though. Anyone had any success at this age? I have no experience of treating scars (despite 20 years of acne). So far I've only used 5%
  6. Its been about one year since i started my treatment! Lots to update everyone about. My skin is doing great, but not perfect! I do have some hyperpigmintation from the acne left over, but I don't really break out anymore Clear skin!..? Skin Picking After my 30 day picking challenge, I had no urge to pick anymore! Success! Lol but it doesnt mean i don't pick at all anymore. If i have a massive blackhead sticking out of my face, i will pick it. The only difference now is that I don't FIND un
  7. I have an acne scars on my cheeks. I don't know the severity level and not sure if it's rolling or boxcar. See my picture below. It's started when I break out with cystic acnes. It was a nightmare for me. So, I started to treat it with Retin-A (the one that is available over the counter), It's my nightly regiment for 3months to date. and Kojic Acid soap (the one with Coconut oil) since then. so far, my acne cleared up but not the scars. That's why a month ago, I add Baking Soda on my treat
  8. Hi guys I have awful indented acne scars all over my cheeks and chin as well as large pores and dark spots. The only decent part of my face is my forehead and it's getting really depressing. I had spots as a teenager and had one ice pick scar but i could deal with that... then last year i started to get horrific cystic acne from the birth control i was using (nexplanon implant) and since they have heeled i have had lots of 'ice pick' scars. (i rarely break out any more - but if i do
  9. Lately craters have been appearing all over my face and it's driving me crazy. I took Accutane which mostly cured my cystic acne, although over a year later I'm getting some acne again but it's mostly mild and not as common as before. I've been using Retin-A for over a year also, but in the last couple months I'm getting a lot of indented crater marks on my skin, without hyperpigmentation and even in spots where there's no acne. It's happening a lot lately, and rapidly. I'm confused. I also w
  10. I have these pits/scars on my nose that have really been bothering me lately and making me very self conscious. I don't really know what they're from, I have pretty oily skin, moderate cystic acne, and I have a pretty bad habit of stress squeezing my nose. Could this have caused these little pits? Has anyone else had pitted scars like this on the nose and gotten them to go away or at least go down a little bit? Any help is appreciated.
  11. Hi, I need to know how to get rid of or at least reduce the appearance of pitted acne scarring. My scars are shallow and I've done microdermabrasion in the past, but I see minimal results. I had considered doing Skin Needling and was all set up to do it, when I found out that people prone to keloids should not do it. My family has a history of keloids and I have one on my leg from when I had chicken pox when I was younger. So now that skin needling isn't an option, I need to find some type of
  12. Like the question says, what is the usual time for a scar(indented) to appear after the spot is gone?I am seeing a scar forming in a place where the pimple was totally gone about a month earlier. And I am also noticing that my previous scars are getting deeper with time. I am new to having scars and don't know anything about this.Only god knows why I am scarring as I never had a scar in 5 years time with my acne.
  13. Hi everyone, I am a 21 year old Asian-Indian origin female struggling from moderate-severe acne scars. I first battled moderate acne for years before going on a low dosage of accutane (10 mg) for four months after which my breakouts stopped. I haven't had a new pimple in months now (yeeeeaas, thankfully) but I have horrid horrid acne scars all over my cheeks. These are almost impossible to conceal with makeup so I had decided to visit a dermatologist who could help me get rid of these using
  14. Hi to all! I suffer from severe acne scaring and I've been coming to this board for a while but only recently had the courage to post. I remember reading an article where the author mentioned the use of absorbable suture as a filler for subcision but can't find the article because it was a brief mention. This got me into thinking about the idea. After subcision, inserting the suture thread through the "needled hole" into the subcided space could create a sort of grid structure to support tis
  15. I had scar revision surgery done a little more than a month ago on my cheek. It is still red and indented looking. The red I can handle it's the indentation that I'm worried about. Will it eventually fill in to become level with surrounding skin? Right now it looks terrible..
