  1. Just looking for a place to keep record and share my derma rolling process. Started derma rolling 3 weeks ago. Bought my 1.5mm roller from Amazon for $27. Don't think it is the best roller but I'll keep it for now. I use: Bio Oil $10 (CVS, Walgreens) Julie's Apeel Correct (perfectcomplexion.net) A multi-vitamin Lots of drinking water I've been an acne sufferer since the age of 15. Took Accutane at age 16. Acne cleared until age 24 when I had a temporary recurrence due to a separate i
  2. Hey everyone! I've been really hesitant to post pictures of my scarring here, but I really do want all the help possible. I've been so down about my scars this whole year. They're only about a year old. I also still have some hyperpigmentation and some overall redness. Sooooo... here are some photos of my atrophic scarring (yes, I am female). I haven't seen a dermatologist about my scarring yet because I'm afraid of being talked into something I don't want. I hope to find a dermatologist who
  3. Hello everyone I'm completely new to the scar and red mark treatments forum because up until now my active acne has been out of control and therefore my main priority. The treatment plan I'm on at the moment means that I now have probably three actives at most and some of the time I'm completely clear of active acne which is a great improvement for me. But I have such a ludicrous amount of hyperpigmentation, as well as what look like some indented scars forming, so it still looks like I
  4. Just wanted to say a quick "hi"! I recently turned 30 and no longer suffer from active acne but I am left with indented scars (feel as though only half the battle has been won). I had resided myself to the fact that I will never be rid of these horrid scars (I've tried SO many things). But I joined this site because I've recently had some good results with a vitamin C serum, which has inspired me to keep trying and in the next few months I plan on experimenting with a few other natural prod
  5. Hey Guys, I've been lurking in this forum for over four years now but haven't actually found the guts to post yet. So firstly, thank you to all the members for the valuable info here. Thankfully, I don't suffer from acne anymore (thanks to a year long dose of Accutane). I've finished my round of Accutane over six months ago so I'm now trying to find the preferred route of treatment for my depressed acne scars. I'm really hoping there's a solution f
  6. I wasn't sure whether to post this under prescription treatments or the scar section, but my main concern is scarring so here goes. My acne was somewhat mild but very persistent. Usually 2-3 zits at all times, more during totm. Was clear through my teens and began breaking out in my early 20s and it never stopped. I'm 27. I've been using retin a for 12 weeks now. Started out with .025 cream for the first 8 weeks and then went up to the .05 cream. Used topical clindamycin wipes during this ti
  7. Lately, I've been searching Youtube up and down for tutorials on how to conceal pitted acne scars. I've come across three videos that struck with me and am wondering if anyone else has tried the products from them and can tell me how well they concealed your pitted scars: From video 1: (video by Diamondsandheels14) Makeup Forever HD Micro-Perfecting PrimerShiseido Refining Primer Makeup or Shiseido Pore Smoothing Corrector Dermablend Cover Cream (I especially want to know how well these
  8. Hey everyone, Ok so I'm 18 years old and up until my 18th birthday I pretty much had perfect skin. Then I turned 18, started getting spots. I decided to go on Dianette and I know it works for a lot of people, but I had a really bad initial breakout of inflammatory acne and after 6 months my acne still hadn't subsided. So I decided to come off Dianette and now I use Duac to keep my acne under control. My acne has improved, I only have a couple of inflamed pimples and then it's just small
  9. Hi everyone! So, I have had cystic acne problems for a year or two now, and regular teen acne before that, and now my skin is finally clearing up thanks to a healthier diet and hormones leveling out. However, I've been left with both hyperpigmentation and little indented scars that I'm trying to treat now rather than later. I came across derma rollers online and since I can't afford laser treatment or other scar therapy right now, I figured it was worth a try. I ordered the Zust Beauty Derma Rol
  10. About two years ago I posted a picture here right after finishing my accutane treatment. I was asking about my rolling acne scars and how to treat them. I ended up trying out microneedling, which gave me pretty good results.? Though I still have a long way to go to achieve my ultimate goal with them, I’m not angry at my results lol! I’m sharing just in case anyone can relate and wants to find a treatment option that is less expensive than laser. Also, if anyone has any advice on how I can help m

  12. Hey guys! I have a pretty decent amount of acne scarring on my face (much more so on the left side of my face). It's not really noticeable inside. Like if someone looks right at me, they can see some scarring, but I feel like it doesn't really take away from my attractiveness at all. My problem comes from the sun (or at least I think it does). Sometimes when the sun catches me at a certain angle, my face suddenly looks awful. Is there any way to stop this? All of my scarring
