  1. Acne log 2 2011 Nov I started the last blog last night before I fell asleep, today I woke up at about 9 30 . As usual i woke to my face feeling tight and gross, most likely it is because I didn't wash or use moisturizer or my medicine. I was just at my wits end and felt like it wasn't going to help any way. As I peered in to the mirror I noticed my face was still red and swollen with white heads in groups all over my face. I decided to hop in the shower and I don't know if this is the best
  2. Acne log 2011 Nov I have started this blog because I am fed up with acne. I have had acne since I was 16 and im 21 now,tho it has never been this severe. I would post pics but too embarrassed. I just started atralin and minocicline 2 weeks ago. And this medication sucks so far I don't know if its gunna work or keep turning my skin into the mongaloid I see in the mirror. They say I need to wait 4 to 8 weeks before I see improvment I dunno if I can last that long the way its going now.cuz it

From the album: Vegan diet plan

    I hate having acne.
  4. This week I finally saw noticeable differences in my skin at least. My current blemishes went away and my skin started to almost have a glow to it. I had maybe two pimples, but the overall tone was much clearer. The side effects were all gone, except the occasional trip to the bathroom. Insomnia completely stopped, and I finally felt as if there was hope to ending all of the annoying blemishes and pounds of make-up to help me appear "flawless". My skin was also less oily, and I felt like the bla
  5. Acne scarring is hell. It was already bad enough that you had to suffer through a condition that transformed your skin a bacterial free-for-all to be left with the aftermath - ice pick scars, enlarged pores, textural changes, indents, redness, pigmentation issues and so on. So you go to your dermatologist. You can trust your doctor right? They'll know how to fix those scars for sure. So you try some medication or procedure your dermatologist recommends, and you're hopeful that things will go w
  6. Hello!!! I've decided to join this forum because I'm currently suffering from acne & I need to get rid of it My mom has told me that underneath I have VERY good skin but whenever she sees how bad it is, she's completely shocked! First off, I first started getting acne sometime in my teens(don't know the exact age) & at the time it was never really that bad... I was normally getting it on my forehead & under my eyes near my nose since the type of skin that I have is very OILY sk
  7. Hello all, I'm a 15 year old boy and I am about to start accutane and i wanted to document my progress, I'd love if you guys comment back to me about your stories of acne and maybe going on Accutane. I went to the doctor yesterday after having been on Solodyn for 14 weeks sadly it hadn't cleared my acne, i was still getting large areas of red angry bumps. I actually started to feel good about my skin and that it was clearing up but after a week of seemingly no new zits it started up with the b
  8. Hi, I’ve started using duac once daily after being prescribed it by a doctor and during the first five days helped me feel more confident as it seemed like I was working but then on day 10 I started breaking out more on my forehead and places I never have before idk why because I only put cream on the places I had broken out in. It’s Sunday and I have to go to school tomorrow and I’m dreading it truely. Everyones faces are clear or they can cover up their acne well and I can’t and I look
  9. Hello, everyone! I'm a 20 year old female from winnipeg, MB (canada). I have been suffering from moderate acne for as long as i can remember, but recently it's become quit severe. I am here blogging due to the lack of success in my acne cure journey. I don't want to bother my family and friends anymore about my acne, because they can't relate to this problem. My self-confidence from a 1-10 is at a stand still 2. I'm ashamed to go out in public and if I do go out I need to cover up. It's gotten s
  10. As many people on here, I spend a lot of time looking through the forum or looking through the Internet for that one solution that will finally get rid of my acne scars and the more and more I look the more I begin to think, is it even possible? It's almost impossible to find someone on these forums who actually GOT RID of their scars, best case scenarios it's people that maybe got 40-50% improvement which is cool and all but the scars are still there. We spend so much time looking at our faces

  12. Let me start by saying that I have never really stuggled with acne(mostly because I am known to be a compulsive clean freek) in fact I came to this site since I got my first pimple today and I was looking for a remedy. The pimple is gone now but as I was searching for a remedy I stumbled into this section. I was intrigued by all these stories as I read them it really broke my heart reading all these stories. Personally I found these stories really deppressing. I read an article that said that ac
  13. Going to try to make it as simple as possible... I've been needling for around 8 months - year for a total of around 8 treatments. Though I wouldn't count the first 3-5 as successful treatments because I didn't have pinpoint bleeding and I wasn't very experienced. Although improvement in hyper pigmentation and a bit in the actual indentations was still be able to be seen... The recent 3 I would call more of successful treatments, as they have been combined with a 2.0m Dermastamp, Leds, Retin a
  14. Well, I'm back to posting on the forum after incessant surfing these past 2 months. I recently completed my 10th week on a combination of Solodyn 80 mg, Ziana, and Benzaclin. I had my derm check-up today and I honestly had a mental breakdown and demanded Accutane for some lingering body acne despite the improvement in my face. The dermatologist assured me that my face isn't too bad and told me that the only way she'd prescribe me Accutane is if I visit a psychiatrist and they write me a note say

It is getting better. I actually can put makeup on and leave the house now.
  16. Hi Guys, Lately I have been really struggling with my skin, it is very sensitive and irritated and that is clearly visible, the actual skin problem aside- I have been trying to deal with all of the issues that my skin problems bring me. The stress, the anxiety and the grief but if your in a similar position right now whether it's related to Acne or other skin issues, here are some thoughts and perspectives that might help: .If your worried that you look bad, try just saying to yourself- Ok,
  17. Hello, all you wonderful people! It has now been more than a year since I finally beat my acne. It left a lot of scars - both physically and mentally. The physical scars aren't noticable, though. The red marks are still visible, though. The good thing is, their colour have diminished down to a redish freckle-colour. I'm unsure if people around me even notice them. But then there are the mental scars. I still feel "a bit behind" when talking social skills; I don't like being touched, standing
  18. Hi everyone I am on differin for 27 weeks now. What a ride for me. Still, acne shows up and cause me anxiety. I believe it is all about the hormones because I have chnage my routine to minimize the acne risk. I wash my pillows every week. I eat healthy food such as grain and almond milk. I sleep before 11 pm. Almost every day. I find a hobby to keep me stay away from stress and over thinking. I also do vbeam and smooth beam laser but help little with scars. I think I am going to use differin f
  19. hi everyone. i first want to apologize for having never kept up with this, i think i just forgot about it once things got rolling... then continued to forget until now. the only reason i remembered was because i read that my email was taken from this website when it had the data breach a few years back... anyway. i will update you all as to how things went and are now. i started accutane at 14 and ended right around my 15th birthday. i took it during winter (DO NOT RECOMMEND) and my en
  20. Hey everyone.. Ive been reading acne.org posts for a long time but just decided to create an account. Where do i start?im a 21 yrs old male, and ive been struggling with acne for almost 6 years now. I am currently on Accutane for the 3rd time. Yes, 3rd time. The first 2 times worked but the acne would come back after 5-6 months. The last time i was on Accutane was almost 2 years ago and the only period of my life in which i was feeling comfortable was after that first treatment, because my skin
  21. Happy almost 2013 everybody! Hello there. This is my first time coming to these boards, and my first time with an account on acne.org. Granted, I've been watching, reading, and learning things from this site for years. As proper introduction etiquette states, I'll discuss who I am and my condition. First off, I'm 16 years old and a female. My name is Krysta, and I'm really pleased to meet you all! You all seem very sweet and informative, which is really helpful. I've had facial acne for a
  22. So I finally been put on accutane I literally have tried everything. You name it and I've tried it.My doctor referred me to a dermatologist who by the way is a total female dog. She absolutely did not care and wanted me out of her office as soon as possible -__-. She wanted to prescribe me 80 mg per day (I'm 5"11 weigh 170 ok ok 179 lbs) and i know it makes sense but I did not want to start with a high dose cause I was scare. I'm also paying for accutane out of my pocket but I only pay 1
  23. Hi guys. Sooo, I'm not exactly new to the site. I've been lurking since the beginning of my Accutane journey. But something in me just really wanted to document this amazing transformation after reading so many success stories. Ah, so now for the story. THEN: My best friend was put on Accutane some years ago and the results were awesome, but not necessarily perfect. Then again her consistency with the Accutane was not 100%. But even then, she had a lot of negative side-effects. At this tim
  24. Hello, I'm 19 and still suffering from hormonal acne. I have tried accutane and different kinds of antibiotics & topical creams but in the end nothing works. My last hope was the yasmin pill since I've discovered that my acne is hormonal. I've almost finished 2 months now, however my skin only got worse till now. It hasn't been this bad for 2 years. Should I still have hope? Does anyone have experience with yasmin pill for hormonal acne, and if so; how many months before you s
