However I am in college now and earlier this year, I had a flare up which led to significant damage to my self esteem and symptoms of intense depression. I'm currently using adapalen

  4. Hey guys! I am in need of some help with my hormonal acne. For the past year or so I have had consistent hormonal acne on my chin, specifically on the left side. I have comedones, blackheads, white heads, dry skin, and redness in that area specifically, with some small instances on the middle of my chin and left side. Occasionally also on my forehead and nose. While I’ve always had acne, I’ve never really struggled until I got the Kyleena progesterone IUD. Since then it’s been non s
  5. Hi everyone! I’d reallllllyyyyy appreciate some help. I’ve paid A LOT of money for the acne.org regimen products as I live in the UK but I can’t bring myself to actually start the regimen Hear me out: Even though I’ve heard all the amazing success stories I’m really worried the regimen will mess up my already messed up skin. When I was teen (I’m now 30) I was given OTC benzoyl peroxide (i can’t remember the %) but it REALLY REALLY messed up my skin. I have sensitive skin but was told
  6. Hi! So I’m an 18 year old female weighing about 120lbs. I’m currently on month 2 of my accutane treatment and I’m taking 60mg a day. So far I’ve had extreme back pain, dry lips, and nosebleeds. Other than that, I have not had any dryness on my face and I’ve seen no improvement in my skin and I’m breaking out on my neck, chin, and forehead which has never happened to me before (my acne has always been on my cheeks). I emailed my derm and she said that I should have seen improvement by now. Has an
  7. I’ve been dealing with severe cystic acne for 5 years. I’ve seen a number of dermatologists and holistic doctors. The only thing that helped was birth control but it caused me to gain a substantial amount of weight and had other psychological side effects that were bad enough for me to stop taking it. Doxycycline helped keep it more manageable and I stayed on it for a year. I weened myself off of it a few months ago in hopes of keeping my liver healthy and the acne came back with a vengeance. It

  9. Hey guys, I am currently SOOO frustrated. Here is some background: I never used to have acne not even as a teenager, im talking not even one pimpleeee (knock on wood). I had a pretty bad diet in college and I STILL didnt break out. I never even thought about acne lol I used to be happy haha Anyway, I started law school this year and idk if it's the stress or what not, I BREAK OUT LIKE CRAZY on my cheeks and chin. like my skin is so bumpy and frustrated. It is dry and flaky and large pores. It
  10. Hello all! I am new to the community but I have a few questions.. I have pretty light cystic acne that is hormonal caused by my IUD. I am 18 years old and have light skin. I have some scars but not a ton. Overall, my skin is pretty good but I get new cyst break outs about every 2 weeks and frequently have to get shots in them. I currently use AktiPak and have been on it for a few months. It has reduced my cyst breakouts to about 3 large cysts a month. Recently my dermatologist gave me Reti
  11. Okay so I just signed up on acne.org to make myself feel better and get some advice on this tragic thing i did for my face, because I really feel like trash right now. So last week. I was looking at the mirror, close up, at my blemishes. I have this problem where I will start picking at the smallest thing on my face because im so afraid of pimples. I pick on three pimples on my cheek. All got inflamed. Throughout the week i tried putting mask, benzoyl peroxide, baking soda, etc. Two of them went
  12. Hey ya'll. I'm new on here. So just to give some background information: I'm a 16 year old teen who's had acne ever since he hit puberty around 12. It got really bad around the time I was 13 and 14. Around the time I was 15 and 16, it got less bad, but it's still there. I've tried numerous products, soaps, and even diets over the years as well. Currently I'm pretty satisfied with my diet and face cleaning products. I now just have one more, little question. Does masturbation actually

  18. stuff i've learnt about acne and some of my thoughts regarding the subject. -researching acne is 100% important when trying to "cure" yourself. there is different types of acne. all have specific treatments. (some skin problems are not even acne) - it important to educate yourself on post acne marks & acne scars + how to treat them. it is easy to mistake post acne/ skin damage for active acne. -sodium lauryl sulfate (aka "SLS" for short) is an ingredient in most acne soaps but shoul
  19. I wouldn't be posting this if my problem wasn't that serious so please guys just write anything that comes to your mind that can be of a help to me.. Thank you. My acne sterted when I was 15 years old, I am 22 now and in this point I have tried everything. From topical treatments by the most famous brands that claim to help acne such as La Roche, Bioderma, Avene.. Nothing really helped. 20. Y'all I've suffered with these on my cheeks for the past 3 years now I've tried eating clean, cutting dairy, no makeup, acne.org, water and too much more to type I don't think this is hormonal because they appeared after I used a hydroquinone/trentonin mix prescribed by my dermatologist(completely ruined my skin btw) Now I have these bumps and idk how to get rid of them or what they are I sometimes get the sebum filled comedones that I can extract but most are too flat to pop they just ma
  21. Seriously losing the will to live with my acne. It’s a joke! I’ve had acne since I was 18 and I’m now 25 going on 26!!! I’ve tried literally everything and my only option left is accutane but I really really don’t want to go on it because I have a phobia of blood and needles so I couldn’t deal with the monthly blood test’s needed. I’ve used both benzoyl peroxide and Retinoids like Differen none have helped. I even went on the contraceptive pill to see if that helped and it didn’t
  22. Hello everyone ! I have always had sensitive skin but have suffered with acne since I was about 13, all over my face and the rare occasion on my neck or chest area. I tried everything to stop it, scrubbing my face, all of the over the counter soaps, scrubs and creams I could get my hands on. I stopped eating sweets/candy and drank nothing but water for 2.5 years. None of it made any difference until I found Benzoyl Peroxide. I can across it in an online forum and decided it was worth a try, w
  23. i already have a problem with picking at my skin unintentionally, and yesterday i tried taking a bobby pin and using it to pop my black heads, my skin was clear besides a few pimples and black heads on my nose. so i took the bobby pin and all i know was that i started popping them at 4am and ended at 3pm (a long time), and my skin was really red and my pores were huge, which i'm guessing is from me scraping at my skin to get the blackheads out. i took a shower after and my face looked really bad
  24. Hello everybody. Before I start acne took over my life and those who have it really know what I'm talking about... It's difficult to post a picture so I'm going to ask you the severity of my face. It's all genetics for me as my dad had very problematic skin during his teenage years. I sometimes don't leave the house due to the redness.. which drugstore products would be really helpful for my type of skin..? - it gets really oily at the end of the day - kind of sensitive - a little bit te
  25. Hello all, This is a recent problem I've been facing with my skin and hopefully I can get some help :,) So I started using a face wash that my friend let me use because she didnt want it anymore, but it has exfoliating beads in it and since I dont have tons of money I kept using it because I thought i could get away with it until i can convince my parents to buy me a new one. Long story short, it's making me suffer now because the over exfoliating (i also exfoliate once a week and my face ma
