  2. I'm hoping that I'm putting this in the right thread here but I need some help with healing a couple of open sores that I have ATM. Pretty much I've come to accept the fact that I have a problem with picking/popping things on my face and I tend to do it more when I'm under stress. I've been under more stress as of late so long story short I was stupid and picked a couple sores on my face lol. To avoid me picking at these more for the next couple of days (having these come to gross, crusty sca
  3. Hello, So I'd been looking on these boards for a long time. I had acne for about 3 years and it refused to go away - the source of the problem was unclear. However, I am FINALLY clear and wanted to share how it came about. First of all, COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY. People have mixed opinions about it, but for me, it has been nothing short of miraculous. I saw an amazing woman, a true professional with a lot of knowledge and expertise. The procedure was not that invasive; she put me at ease, desp
  4. Hi guys-- Most of the blogs I share are on nutritional topics but since this is also a holistic form, and that includes emotional health, I thought I'd share my latest blog. It's about self image, anxiety and the obsession we can develop with our skin problems. http://thecircledancer.blogspot.com/2012/12/acne-and-self-image-reality-in-mirror.html It was hard for me to write this because this is something I've been struggling with for a long time, sometimes very badly. Recently I've been
  5. I have herd that using vitamin D serum from capsule can heal depressed can scars. Can It heal this one?
  6. This scar first appeared a week ago, it was a pimple that I popped it & then this appeared. The first picture is a day ago, the 2nd picture is from today. I have been using a scar cream on it, something similar to mederma. How long should this take to heal?
  7. ZINC OXIDE: IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80′S YOU MAY REMEMBER ZINKA…. Back in the 80′s the zinc was not micronized so it was very WHITE, and sometimes contained the addition of a hot pink, green or yellow color! Life guards wore it on their noses and lips. Yes the 80′s did happen. So did Stussy, big shoulder pads and NEON. So why am I obsessed with zinc oxide? It has cleared my acne, healed my eczema and calmed my irritated skin while providing UVA/UVB protection. There are not enough produc

    1 Month 2 Weeks

So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness
  9. Hi, Has anyone ever experienced carpet burn on their face while on accutane ?
  10. So about a week ago, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth surgically extracted while under. A week before the surgery, I had stopped my Isotretinoin (30mg twice a day) treatment which I had been on for just over 6 months. (Which, by the way, cleared most acne but left LOTS of red scarring). My dermatologist advised me to resume the treatment (I have one month's worth of accutane left in hand) approximately 1 week after the surgery. I am scared to do so because I'm afraid of developing dry sockets, and
  11. From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

2 months since my last pill. No sign of new acne at all!! I couldn't me more pleased. I'm feeling myself again, so thankful.
  12. Hi all, so about a week week or so ago I was on clarithromycin for tonsillitis. After 4-5 days on this I experienced a pretty strong allergic reaction. My skin on face and body was really dry and red, and hot. It was a little itchy. Now it’s a week post. the skin on my face is very dry, tight and flakey. I moisturise multiple times a day and all over my body it’s still very dry. My face gets so oily during the day normally that I have to blot it constantly but now no oiliness. Even the ski

    I'm Clearing, Here's How

Hello everyone, I've had moderate acne since I was 12/13 (I believe my acne is mostly hormonal and make up related). I'm turning 27 this month, and my struggle has only worsened through adulthood (until recently). I'm sharing my regiment with the world with hope that it will help some of you. (Also note, I just purchased the basic kit through this site, and I will update once used for 30 days). *Failed attempts include: antibiotics, Spirolactone, topical Retinol, ProActive, endless over the co
  14. I have come to realize I have a poor healing response. Any pimple, especially in my cheek area will leave a very shallow indent in its place. I always knew that my skin healed slowly, but now I am scared to start trying different treatments, specifically using the derminator and tca peel. Can anyone give me advice in what route I should take, especially those with the same issue. Can using the derminator cause further damage if my skin's healing ability is not the best? thanks so much!
  15. If you don't already know about how your skin is connected to your gut (furthermore how your entire health is connected to your gut), go ahead and research it. The human gut is the second most powerful organ (after the brain) and is connected to over 150 diseases. A good person to look up is Chris Kresser. It is not possible to build over your bad gut with healthy diets (such as the Paleo diet) (which i tried to do), it will only keep in the same place, if not make things worse. You must reset y

    From the album: Doxycycline Progress

Doxycycline ended up being ineffective for my cystic acne. My acne was cured using a combination of epidou, aczone, and birth control. There was pretty major scarring, but derm says it should fade with time and exfoliation.
  17. hi everyone, so, i have a moderate acne. really struggling with these bumps on my cheeks, coming back in the mid cycle and just before my period. I don't want txt are roaccutane and i really don't want to take contraceptive pills. I am taking natural remedies. But no luck....have any of you tried this option?
  18. I have started trying to consciously practice seeing myself as more than my acne. This might seem like an obvious practice, or something that should come naturally; but for me it is defiantly not. Acne has given me a negative attitude towards my body. I feel as though my body has failed my in some way and is not functioning properly despite my efforts. But this attitude is unhealthy, and I have come to find the following positive thoughts have helped me feel a little more peaceful in times of
  19. Hello everyone, I would like to share with you a couple of ideas about acne and skin healing. Here’s the thing: There is much talk about the emotional side-affects of acne which can leave visible scars not only on the surface of the skin, but on the soul as well. However, what I have come to realize after my 15-year long struggle with acne, is that our emotions are not a result of acne, but rather a direct cause of skin breakouts. After much reading and studying, I have come to a conclusion t
  20. I am sort of cross posting this, as the combination works as a mask, but my TCM Dr recommended Pearl Powder and Royal Jelly to take orally and topically. Pearl Powder once a week in tea and as a replacement for calcium, my research has revealed, and Royal Jelly 1 tbsp a day. Both of these are considered historic fountains of youth as well as acne treatments. The coconut oil was recommended by my nutritionist friend, to replace oils I've lost with age, through over-treating, and lacki

    Picking Acne

Hello, newbie to this site. I'm currently finishing month 3 of Accutane. I have come to realize that most of my acne is due to me picking at any little blemish but I can not seem to stop! Just a few days ago I had only 2 healing pimples. Last night I spent too much time in front of the mirror and now my face is a war zone. It's bad enough i had my doctor prescribe me a 5 day course of prednisone to heal the inflammation I caused. Ahhh, what did i pick? I was looking great up until then Anyon

  23. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if this is a good regimen for clearing up red marks/scabs caused by pimples. I don't think my acne is too bad. Just a lot of redness from picking before, but I'm going to stop with that. Anyway my regimen right now that I'm going to try and stick with is: 1. Lush Ocean Salt Cleanser Scrub 2. Lush Tea Tree Water Toner 3. Lush Skin Drink Moisturizer Morning and night, with a spot treatment at night. Anyone feel free to let me know about experience
