  1. Hello everyone, I've had moderate acne since I was 12/13 (I believe my acne is mostly hormonal and make up related). I'm turning 27 this month, and my struggle has only worsened through adulthood (until recently). I'm sharing my regiment with the world with hope that it will help some of you. (Also note, I just purchased the basic kit through this site, and I will update once used for 30 days). *Failed attempts include: antibiotics, Spirolactone, topical Retinol, ProActive, endless over the co
  2. Hi all, so about a week week or so ago I was on clarithromycin for tonsillitis. After 4-5 days on this I experienced a pretty strong allergic reaction. My skin on face and body was really dry and red, and hot. It was a little itchy. Now it’s a week post. the skin on my face is very dry, tight and flakey. I moisturise multiple times a day and all over my body it’s still very dry. My face gets so oily during the day normally that I have to blot it constantly but now no oiliness. Even the ski
  3. I have come to realize I have a poor healing response. Any pimple, especially in my cheek area will leave a very shallow indent in its place. I always knew that my skin healed slowly, but now I am scared to start trying different treatments, specifically using the derminator and tca peel. Can anyone give me advice in what route I should take, especially those with the same issue. Can using the derminator cause further damage if my skin's healing ability is not the best? thanks so much!
  4. So about a week ago, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth surgically extracted while under. A week before the surgery, I had stopped my Isotretinoin (30mg twice a day) treatment which I had been on for just over 6 months. (Which, by the way, cleared most acne but left LOTS of red scarring). My dermatologist advised me to resume the treatment (I have one month's worth of accutane left in hand) approximately 1 week after the surgery. I am scared to do so because I'm afraid of developing dry sockets, and
  5. So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness
  6. From the album: 30 mg Accutane experience

2 months since my last pill. No sign of new acne at all!! I couldn't me more pleased. I'm feeling myself again, so thankful.
  7. From the album: Doxycycline Progress

Doxycycline ended up being ineffective for my cystic acne. My acne was cured using a combination of epidou, aczone, and birth control. There was pretty major scarring, but derm says it should fade with time and exfoliation.
  8. Hi, Has anyone ever experienced carpet burn on their face while on accutane ?
  9. If you don't already know about how your skin is connected to your gut (furthermore how your entire health is connected to your gut), go ahead and research it. The human gut is the second most powerful organ (after the brain) and is connected to over 150 diseases. A good person to look up is Chris Kresser. It is not possible to build over your bad gut with healthy diets (such as the Paleo diet) (which i tried to do), it will only keep in the same place, if not make things worse. You must reset y

  12. This scar first appeared a week ago, it was a pimple that I popped it & then this appeared. The first picture is a day ago, the 2nd picture is from today. I have been using a scar cream on it, something similar to mederma. How long should this take to heal?
  13. I'm hoping that I'm putting this in the right thread here but I need some help with healing a couple of open sores that I have ATM. Pretty much I've come to accept the fact that I have a problem with picking/popping things on my face and I tend to do it more when I'm under stress. I've been under more stress as of late so long story short I was stupid and picked a couple sores on my face lol. To avoid me picking at these more for the next couple of days (having these come to gross, crusty sca
  14. ZINC OXIDE: IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80′S YOU MAY REMEMBER ZINKA…. Back in the 80′s the zinc was not micronized so it was very WHITE, and sometimes contained the addition of a hot pink, green or yellow color! Life guards wore it on their noses and lips. Yes the 80′s did happen. So did Stussy, big shoulder pads and NEON. So why am I obsessed with zinc oxide? It has cleared my acne, healed my eczema and calmed my irritated skin while providing UVA/UVB protection. There are not enough produc
  15. Hello, So I'd been looking on these boards for a long time. I had acne for about 3 years and it refused to go away - the source of the problem was unclear. However, I am FINALLY clear and wanted to share how it came about. First of all, COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY. People have mixed opinions about it, but for me, it has been nothing short of miraculous. I saw an amazing woman, a true professional with a lot of knowledge and expertise. The procedure was not that invasive; she put me at ease, desp
  16. Hi guys-- Most of the blogs I share are on nutritional topics but since this is also a holistic form, and that includes emotional health, I thought I'd share my latest blog. It's about self image, anxiety and the obsession we can develop with our skin problems. http://thecircledancer.blogspot.com/2012/12/acne-and-self-image-reality-in-mirror.html It was hard for me to write this because this is something I've been struggling with for a long time, sometimes very badly. Recently I've been
  17. Wound Healing in the Skin

Stage 1: Blood Clotting Stage 2: Inflammation Stage 3: Healing Stage 4: Remodeling Acne Healing The Bottom Line The skin is a complex organ that serves as the body's first protective barrier against the environment. Because the skin is such an important barrier, it must be able to heal itself quickly after an injury, whether the injury is a cut or an acne lesion. The wound healing process is quite complicated. To understand how it works,...
  18. So finally after 8 months I am acne free! I hope this is the last time I take accutane. This has been my second time. While I have no pimples, I have lots of scaring and little holes from popping pimples before. Hopefully the scars fade and later on I can get something done about these little deeper scars holes. I finished accutane about 5 days ago. I still have a bit of dry lips and my hair still isn't oily. Maybe within a week I'll go back to being oily as usual. I definely feel better now and

    Improvement!

Hi everyone. So I've been back on the broth for almost a week now (I started last Friday), and while my skin isn't actually much better, I think it's definitely helping! This is because today is Day 14 of my cycle which is usually a TERRIBLE time (Days 13-16 are hell), and actually I've only had a couple of breakouts - and they're not cysts, just spots (though admittedly one is quite deep.) Obviously this could all change in the next day or so, but for now I'm happy! Anyway I need advice - h
  20. To follow up with my complaints about the side-effects: IT IS WORTH THE SUFFERING. My post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is fading faster than ever, break outs clear up quickly, and my skin is looking much better! About the side-effects: after an allergic-type breakout on my arm, I use eczema lotion and its gone in two days. If I put on Augaphor lip treatment in the morning after a shower my lips stay fine for most of the day, and continuous moisturizing helps that and dry skin. Still yet to ex
  21. Feb 16 2012 update on what has been helping I have experimented with a lot of things.. The candida diet, zapping machines, water fasts, the frutarian diet etc.. What worked you ask? Am I clear yet? Well right now I am in ANOTHER water fast it is my 3rd day so far.. And guess what organ is detoxing once again? My SKIN.. So right at the moment I am not clear only one small pimple on the left side of my chin which is awesome. before the water fast was I clear? Yes I was not perfect but nothing a
  22. Hi all, Just wondering if any one has tried healing visualization. What techniques did you use and how did it work for you? I tried it for a few months because the book "Healing Visualizations" got rave reviews on amazon, and I loved the idea of re-wiring my brain in order to heal my body and in turn, getting more long-term results. Sad to say, it didn't end up clearing my skin but I only did it for a couple months, five minutes three times a day (as recommended). I know "healing visualiza
  23. Hello. Iam still a fourteen year old girl. I know my acne could be due to hormonal imbalances. I break out midly. About two or three pimples. My only problem is fading these marks/spots that they leave after I have treated the pimple. I am in so desperate need of remedies because my scarring is just getting worse. How could i fade these quicker? Please be considerate of the products because i live in the Philippines so i might not find the products mentioned.
