  1. Warning: This post may contain a bit of TMI... haha. I have suffered with chronic constipation my entire life. When I was as young as five or six, I remember my mom would have to give me a laxative (or whatever it is they stick up your butt) pretty regularly. I stopped doing that when I was young, but I still only have a BM every two or three days, sometimes even less. And they are always uncomfortable, hard and just unpleasant. Whooo... yay for TMI! That said, I also suffer from what I f
  2. I don't even know where to begin. I am a 25-year-old Asian male who has dealt with acne for a better part of the last 10 years. There have been good times, there have been bad. And I've tried pretty much everything — including countless hours reading this message board and trying to figure out "cures." I did accutane when I was younger which helped but I don't want to go back on it. I did erythromycin, which didn't help, and I did tetracycline, which helped for three months this past sum
  3. greetings friends!! I suffered from moderate to severe acne for nearly 6 years. I have felt hopeless, depressed, suicidal, and deeply emotionally and physically distressed due to the condition which seemed to have plagued me -- and no one else I knew -- for years. I bought hundreds of products promising clear skin, took a shower each day (often 2 showers a day), been to the dermatologists only to be put on rounds of antibiotics and retin-A, gotten embarrassing facials where the aesthetician

Of course, we here on this forum already know all this, but now there's scientific research to verify these connections. This particular study (link below) suggests that the good bacteria that antibiotics kill, such as clostridia, can act as a barrier between the allergen and the bloodstream and therefore prevent allergic/ histamine reactions. A lot of people
  5. Hi guys, I'm struggling with acne since 12, I'm actually 21. I took accutane at 16, and it clears me during 3 years, but the cystic acne came back.. I've read hundreds of studies and several books on diet, acne, hormones etc.. I think that acne is due to : lack of gut flora => unable to digest sugar/carbs => inflammation on the gut => damage the gut lining (leaky gut syndrome) => chronic inflammation I'm pretty sure about that because my acne wasn't that bad (lots of pi
