    New here!

Hi everyone. My name's Emily, I'm 16, and I've been coming to this site on and off for a few months, but just decided to register. Well, here's a short case history: I started to break out around fifth-sixth grade, and eighth to ninth grade, it was really bad. I hated walking down the hallways at school. Then in the summer before tenth grade, my friend suggested ProAcne, which worked wonders for me, and my school photo proves it. Then unfortunately I found out that it was being discontinued, b

    REALLY Need Help!!!!!

I know it's kind of a long read, but please bare with me... I've been having acne since either late 8th or early 9th grade, I'm 17 now. My first sign came when I was swimming one summer. I got out the pool and noticed my skin was unusually dry. Being ignorant as I was in regards to facial care, I just rubbed a bunch of lotion on it and carried on about my day. Within the week, I was breaking out bad and have been ever since ~> my face has never seen a clear day with no acne in 3 or 4 years

  7. Well, I'm back - I thought I had things under control; I was eating really well and my skin was looking great. But now I'm back to the way things were Please, I need advice; here is my situation: my skin is not oily, it never has been, my acne is all over my cheeks, jaw, and chin area. NOWHERE else (no forehead, no nose, no above lips). Skin is just always red now, scars everywhere I notice if i like stretch my mouth, i can see all of the little buggers coming in before they do the damage. The
  8. Here's my whole story, If you don't want to read all this just scroll down toward the bottom for my regimen. I'm just looking for some personalized advice to make my regimen more efficient. I'm going to include every detail I can provide into this post so that nothing is overlooked, and I can receive the maximum amount of input from you guys to finally beat this thing, since you are on this website I'm sure you can understand that way of thinking, so I apologize if it's a bit lengthy. MY STOR
  9. Okay, So I was on accutane for 4 weeks, and then I told my doctor that I pretty much cleared up completely except for some pigmentation and moderate scarring (which I'm going to take care soon). I've now been post-accutane for 3 weeks now and I experienced a few very tiny breakouts, I think it's just "pushing" the rest of the crap out. So currently, I have about 3 moderately-sized pimples, 3-4 lumps on my jawline and around my earlobe that are barely visible, and some pigmentation that is heal
  10. I been trying everything to heal my acne for the past two years and now I'm 16 with acne first i started going to the dermatologist and gave a variety of medicine like Retin A and antibiotics but nothing works so i quit going to the dermatologist and now I'm currently using cocoa butter for about 6 months now to help clear my acne scar on my left cheek and I'm trying different homemade remedies like baking soda, sugar, and I'm drinking green tea, Aloe Vera. Baking soda seem to work the first tim
  11. I have decided to try a fully natural diet and health based treatment for my acne which I have unsuccessfully treated for the last 8-9 years. 10 days ago I stopped a course of accutane after only 5 weeks due to unusually difficult side effects: joint pain, headaches, dry eyes, photo sensitivity, nausea, vomiting, and raised cholesterol levels. I have decided to try a fully holistic treatment and may have found something in my family medical history that could be contributing to or fully be the
  12. Hey guys, Sorry I'm new to this so if I'm posting on the wrong page lemme know.. Basically I'm just checkin' in to see if anyone has any miracles out there for me. I am a 21 year old in college Basically since I was 13 years old, I've had acne every single day of my life. I haven't gone a single day without it since 13. Anyways I try not to worry about it, although the past few years it has consumed my life more and more to the point where I've decided to look elswhere besides the derms, OTC s

    Check this out!

Hey, a few wks back i had an expanding pimple that was going to grow really big (im in the middle of accutane btw). so i got a cortisone shot and it shrunk. but it grew into a really monster cyst later and i got another cortisone shot and it shrunk. but it started to get really big....nothing ever worked for me, benzol peroxide, sacyclic acid, tea tree oil or toothpaste or ice...so i made my own mix and it works! i recommend you try it! 1. take fish oil (btw, read 'bout the pcbs) 2. take zinc 3
  14. Let me guess, you keep breaking out & even when you dont, you are constantly dealing with spots and or oily skin? I can help both guys and girls, read on. Every week you NEED to do this: This will clear a breakout in 2 days. -Blend fruit in the morning & drink it, simple. Mixed berries, banana etc.. Mix it and drink it. -Following this you NEED to drink WATER every 30 mins daily. -Cut out pizza & soda drinks, they don't improve your life so why need them? -Squeeze fresh lemon into w
  15. where to begin... well, i can start out by introducing myself i suppose. i am new to the site but have been reading it inside and out for quite a while now. i love that there is a place where people can share their experiences in dealing with this monster called acne. this monster has plagued me since i was a sophomore in high school. to be more specific, i have dealt with white heads, black heads, normal pimples (the ones that actually hurt) and a few cystic pimples from time to time. i am
  16. This new mixed solution has worked amazingly just over the past week and a half. I have tried applying just acv with water and it worked but i hated the smell and it gave my face a red tint. This new solution i found on this forum has worked twice as well in half the time. The solution has four simple ingredients: ACV, 100% green tea, good quality tea tree oil, and crushed aspirin pills( purest form of salysitic acid). Each ingredient works on your skin in its own way. The acv is antibacterial a
  17. I am breaking out sooo bad. I am so tired of this. EVerytime this happens I get on ebay and I start looking at Proactiv stuff. I am thinking about buying a lil trial kit on ebay and getting the green tea moisturizer. I am so frustrated. I know it didnt work for a lot of people on this board but I guess I need to try it for myself. I am just scared it will just make my face worse. I guess I could just go to the store and buy a BP face wash. I wouldnt want it to have a high BP percentage though

    Water's For Squares

Hey guys, I've been lurking here for well over 6 months now and finally decided to post. Starting off, I've tried just about everything since the age of 13 when I first started breaking out: -ortho tricyclin -numerous antibiotics -some other acne pills I forgot the names of -tons of topicals including: epiduo, retin a, clyndamycin, adapalene, tretinoin (for chest + back), etc -proactiv, neutrogena, oxy, basically anything you can find in the store that claims to "work" After realizing

  20. Hello, this is my first post. I have read a lot of stories on the boards here of many that suffer terribly by the effects of their skin issues. I wanted to just share with you what is working great for me. I hope it helps you. A little background. I am a 31 year old male that had I would say moderate acne in my teen years to college. I now tend to have an occasional breakout and get oily skin at times. I did though do tons of research on ways to improve my skin. I never wanted to use prescribe

    Acne regiment

I am 22 and I have suffered from acne since early high school. During that period I started getting cystic acne on my back, chest, and face. I have realized that acne is caused by a multitude of things. Some being out of my control and some not... reviewing this website I have found many regiments people use to deal with their cystic acne. I have borrowed tips from many people. my regiment has been working but takes time, patience, and consistency. I personally have very oily skin. Feel
  22. I have 2 basic question about accutane. I am currently on 40 but will have my dosage upped to 80 this week. But I forgot to ask the doctor how to take it. Should I take 80 all at once or break it up into 2 times a day? Also, are there any negative sideffects of accutane and caffeine, green tea, or ginkgo bilboa? I need the energy boost. Thanks!

    cyst confusion

i have had severe cystic acne for 3 years. retin a helped for a year but then i started getting cysts again but now around mouth area (they were previously cheeks, jaw) since then i have been on bp for 2 years. it worked at 2.5 for a year, then stopped so i switched to 5% for a year but again i am getting the cysts again ( i always had cysts pop up now and again but the quantity increased) i had success changing my moisturizer to garnier pure a for a while, but not to long. all this got me t
  24. Right, after reading over various topics, cases, stories etc about people's problems, I've decided to give you a detailed overview of what I'm doing to try and rid the acne, to see where or where not i'm going wrong. First off, I'm a 19 y/o male, I've been suffering for about a year and a half now. The spots are mainly around my chin, mouth, jowels area, but i do get them on my cheeks, forehead, between the eyes (basically it can pop up anywhere). And here's what i do to fight it: -I'm all abo
