    Patience & Being Gentle?

Well since joining this forum I have tried a few new things and my skin is getting better so I thought I would share. The first thing I learned on this site is how to gently cleanse my skin. I believe this is a very important step. Before I would be angry with my skin thinking I could rub my acne off the harder and longer I scrubbed. In turn my skin would look back at me in the mirror angrily. So now when I cleanse with my tea tree oil Castile soap I work up a lather like Dan suggests and very l

    The "Cure" for Acne?

As I've been suspecting for a while, acne actually isn't about dirt and oil coming from the outside world to attack you. And obviously, there are people out there who take poor care of themselves (smokers, heavy drinkers, Dunk n Donuts junkies, girls who wear cheap makeup) who still have comparatively clear skin. I am looking for a real theory as to why I have pimples, other than just "blaming it on genetics". I am 19 years old and have had moderate to mild acne since I was around 12, normally
  4. I've been on the regimen about 8 months by now, it's been going so-so for most of that time, till about a month ago I started to drink Green Tea with lemon/honey and exercise my butt off. Oh yeah I also switch my nightly moisturiser for Aloe Vera straight from the garden once a week. WOW! Massive difference, in all I feel a lot better, and my pimple/oil production is negligible by comparison. And red marks are almost completely gone! Only problem is my skin is kinda... ugly and I KNOW it's caus
  5. I was wondering if by drinking green tea it would flush the accutane out of my body and make it less effective??? This may be a stupid question, but before drinking it, I thought id double check with you all experts!

About me and my skin: I am a 26 year old male. I have had acne ranging from mild to severe cyctic acne ever since 1995. My current status is mild with normally 1-2 small sized cyst, along with mild scarring from old lesions. I also have bacne(mild). I have EXTREMELY oily skin. If I wash my face at 7 am, by around 3pm I am a walking oil slick. This past weekend, I had THE WORSE BREAK OUT that I have had in about 6 months. I dont know what I did that triggered it. Then again, right bef
  7. Wouldnt't baby cleansers b much betetr to use on our delicate acne prone face than anything else? They clean without drying due to the fact that they are 100% soap free, dye-free, and pH-balanced. So wouldn't this b really good for our skin? not to mention it is rediculoisly cheap. I am looking online for all sorts of bar soap without any of the detergents and heavy scents some soaps that sound good are glycerin and soap bars that are made with aloe, cocoa butter, olive oil, dead sea salts, gree
  8. I just started my 5th week of RAM, good news is that a large amount of whiteheads created by RAM are going away. Bad news is I still have a lot of redness, I was wondering if I started using a Clearasil Daily Oil Control Gel Wash with Green Tea and Peppermint in it, would it have any adverse effect on my current treatment? Would the Gel Wash help with my redness? When should I insert the gel wash into my regimen? Thanks, hopefully I start seeing beneficial results soon from my RAM, I am in t

  12. Im seeking out the best source of linoleic acid as this article claims healthy skin-calming sebum is created from this as oposed to oliec acid which causes acne. Ive googled and so ive read that Flax seed oil is the best on a few sites and Safflour Oil is the best on others. Id assume the best is the one with the most linoleic acid and the least oliec acid
  13. I am already using tea tree oil and have been wanting to try jojoba and green tea...so do you guys think this would be a good product? http://www.originbiomed.com/pages/acne_cream.html It's a little expensive...
  14. Does anyone like drinking green tea? I don't think it's that strong. How can you make sure you get a decent dose of antioxidant from it?

    Green Tea

Ok...I think it is commonly agreed that Green Tea CAN help with acne problems. I am drinking about 5 cups a day, however, like the majority of Green Tea (bags) it contains caffeine. I am led to believe that caffeine is bad for acne. Should I switch to a decaffeinated green tea? (chemical processes...bad?) What is a recommended brand (not bothered about taste)...Oh I live in the UK. Thanks.
  16. I am copy pasting this from my original thread because some of you never go anywhere else besides this thread. I just thought I could reach out to more people by doing this. Had acne since 13. Now clear because of this. If you have comments, questions, and etc about this, reply to the original thread. 17. So I've read a few threads on the benefits of squeezing lemon in water for acne and the skin, and that made me wonder is lemon tea is also good for the skin. I usually have green tea in the morning and I know that it has endless benefits for the skin and body. But I wouldn't mind adding lemon tea to my diet more often! It's my favorite tea!!
  18. i wanna go on accutane cuz nothing else "cured" my acne. my derm tells me everytime to go in cuz i got moderately severe acne and it scars bad. I'm not sure if i should because it's such a dangerous drug. Who knows what can happen while on it. I don't know i think ill go on it cuz my acne is causing scarring and will not go away no matter what. in the past 4 years i tried antibiotics, BP, sallycilic acid, sulphur, green tea, B-5, multivitamin (broke me out bad), i used colon cleanse pills, alo

  20. Ever since Neutrogena stopped making the Multi Vitamin Acne treatment. I was looking for a good replacement. I definitely found it. Its called Wet N Wild face skin care. Its sold in Walgreens and costs 6 dollars. Its a moisturizer with 2% Salicylic Acid. It uses really impressive incredients. It has Aloe, Green Tea, Tea Tree oil, Cucumber, Algae, Camellia leaf extract, Nobilis flower, Licorice root extract. I'v been using this for the last week. It did a great job of clearing my face acne and
  21. I read in another thread that green tea can help acne and the complexion of the skin. So i'm just wondering if Nestea: Lemon Green Tea will work as well
  22. Hey there. First off this is a pretty useful area of information and I really learned a lot already. Well I'm almost twenty years old and I for the most part had very mild acne growing up (I mainly got the most amount when I wreslted in high school) but after sports were done it was very manageable. I was using Oxy Clean (BP 10) for the longest of time. I was using it for about 2 years. It wasn't until I turned 19 did I notice the "effectiveness" subsiding and I actually thought my skin was imm
