  1. Heya, Does anyone break out from Sugar free soft drinks? I know Coke has caramel which is a problem if you're gluten intollerant. But what about Sugar free Sprite(Don't know if you get in the USA)/(Lemonade) or Sugar free ginger beer or something? There is cytric acid in sugar free Sprite. - Should it bother me? Only drinking tea and water is soooo uncool. Any other drinks I can try?
  2. Hi i'm reading so much stuff and dont know which route to take with my scar many many years ago i had an accident which left a large scar on my forehead. Ive been trying to fix it for almost 20 years and these are some of the things ive had done 1)i had scar revision surgery on the nhs and it left a line downwards in the middle of my forehead with quite a dramatic ridge 2) had a second scar revision surgery (private) which helped reduce the ridge somewhat 3) a course of laser treatments i
  3. Here we go then! Initial post listing everything (or mostly everything) I ingest and apply, however this log will focus primarily on products I apply to my skin, rather than my diet. Anything pertaining to diet and supplements will be logged in my alternate thread "2 decades of acne, time to start (diet) logging!" This list, extensive as it is, still is not as detailed as it should be. This is something I am hoping to modify as soon as possible. Additionally, I must emphasize that I do not and

We will post it here for easy access if we find it relevant. If you find a broken link in this article, please PM a moderator, so it can be fixed. 5. Hi everyone. I'm glad to report that after almost a year, my face remains clear, apart from the occasional small whitehead, which I can usually trace to a specific cause. What brings me to start a new log, however, is that I still have body acne on my chest, arms, back, and to a smaller extent shoulders and neck. After many months of experimenting, I have narrowed the possible causes down to pretty much only candida, and am now fully in the fight against it. The reasons I'm pretty su
  6. Hi guys, I was hoping someone could give me a few pointers on what I could do to help repair my skin whilst I'm on accutane please? I've read a lot of people talking about opening Vit E capsules and using that as a topical gel..but I read somewhere else that there is a study showing the possible reversal effects of Vit E on accutane effectiveness. Also read to take Vit C capsules? I'm already eating mega healthy and found on the net that the following are meant to be good for healthy
  7. Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums, so nice to meet you all I have a quick question about a moisturizer I recently purchased and some products in general. The moisturizer is: http://www.desertess...-control-lotion And the ingredients are: Water (Aqua), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract*, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract (Bladderwrack)*, Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal) Extract
  8. So this is what I belive is the perfect diet from all the research I've been doing, correct me if I'm wrong. What I shouldn't eat: Potatoes, grains, legumes/beans, overly cooked, mushy vegetables, ginger, root vegetables, midnight vegetables, dairy, wheat, salt, proccessed food, refined sugar, rice, flour, bread, pasta. These are the methods I should avoid: eating too many ingredients at one setting, eating too much of one fruit or vegetable, eating pre-made stuff from the health food
  9. Hello all, I'm an acne veteran, at 26, I've had acne since I was 14. To keep it short, I'll mention that I was acne free from age 20-25 for no apparent reason, and then all of a sudden it recently came back. Horribly. Like as bad as middle school. I wanted to take the time to suggest something to the community that I am surprised has not been reviewed in the herbal/vitamin supplements page....In LESS THAN A WEEK, I have COMPLETELY CLEAR SKIN from using CRYSTAL STAR BEAUTIFUL SKIN pills.
  10. I am in month 3 of accutane. Not breaking out too much (1 active), but the red marks just drive me insane!! They aren't as bad or numerous as earlier this year, but once you get this close to clear skin, it just... kills me. I am SO CLOSE, but unless these red spots fade, I won't be able to enjoy my acne-free face. I am not using hardly anything on my face. I have a natural cleanser for sensitive skin which I'm not sure if I like, and I use that once a day or every other day. Occasionally I use
  11. I'm english so i NEED my cup of tea in the morning and afternoon. but i have to have milk in it, or if i have it black, i have to have sugar in it... so one way or the other, its not good for my skin. i've been trying to drink these herbal tea's instead to get off the regular tea this is one of them Three Mint contains: Peppermint leaf Spearmint leaf Fieldmint http://www.pukkaherbs.com/file/1a25f2ba0eb...ree-ginger.html same as Dr. Stuarts i have them sometimes as well i just want to
  12. I posted here a couple months ago explaining a problem I am having with small inflamed bumps popping up every day, I usually get two lucky if I get 1 and sometimes I can get 3. I have tried sooo many products, I am at my wit's end. I have also tried many natural therapies including ginger infusions, cinnamon infusions, probiotics, yogourt and kefir, green smoothies, I have been taking zinc for about 2 months now and it seems it hasn't made any difference, also getting a bit of sun when I can
  13. The problem: Some skin disorder that is present at the moment or keeps recurring. (Could be Acne, bacterial infection, fungal infection, etc...) The solution (for the majority): Make an appointment with the doctor or dermatologist. Leaving the office with a prescription for antibiotics, orally or topically. The new problem (from my experience and other posts I've read): Temporary relief from taking antibiotics and sometimes a worse problem than before. The same old solution: More and more doct
  14. Hi, I've been taking vitamin supplements for a while now and it's been helping. So I was just wondering if I were to drink any kind of soda or carbonated drinks, would it affect the vitamins in my stomach or would it be beneficial?
  15. I see a lot of threads where people are complaining about how boring/restrictive/unappealing their diets are. I follow what most would be a very restrictive diet. I don't eat meat, dairy, grains, honey, beans, potatoes, yams and i currently am not eating fruit although i plan to add back low sugar ones like berries soon. My key to enjoying this is making recipes. I don't just sit around eating salads for every meal. Although I do looove a good salad (one with dark greens, avocado, sprouts, must
  16. Do you ever eat when your stomach is full because you just love the taste of the food? I pretty much do that everyday. Today, Ive eaten so poorly. For breakfast, I had a strawberry breakfast bar and a bottle of ginger ail from trader joes. When I got to work, I had skittles. For lunch, I had one enchillada and a 24 oz bottle of water, and for dinner (this is horrible), Im eating a whole pizza from trader joes. 1/3 of the pizza is 310 calories. Im eating the whole thing so like 930 calories. Rig
  17. For the last 2 weeks or so, I've been throwing up at night. Even just a little bit. Not every night though maybe every 2nd or 3rd night. But this week now, I've threw up almost every night. I stopped taking supplements because it was making me throw up right after. So basically, I've stopped eating normal amounts of solid food, and i've been chugging ginger ale. What else could I do? I'm averaging about 3 hours of sleep a night. ______________________ And whats funny, is my skin is literally
  18. I Just started taking these every morning (I'm assuming they're all herbs) Ginger Root (Anti-Inflamitory) St Johns Wort (Anti-Inflamitory and anti-stress) Blueberry leaf extract (Antioxidant) Tumeric (Anti-inflamitory) Will they lose effectiveness after a while? How do I cycle them? Take them for one week, stop taking them for one week, then start taking them again?
  19. I used to frequent this site a few years ago. I have been able to do very well with my skin and wanted to leave you guys with a few habits that I've tested over many years. You will probably notice some of these across other people's post. I am an adult in a career, so you will notice that these are lifestyle changes not products that you use. Some of these do cost money, but the benefits go well beyond skin. You will probably add years to your life and have twice as much energy as normal.
  20. Drink Recipe thread: Teas, milk substitutes, zero caffeine coffee substitutes and all kinds of alternatives to cocktail mixers. Please post any low/no sugar recipes for healthy, hopefully antioxident and nutrient rich drinks. Please, Do SCROLL DOWN. The first several posts do tend to be about cocktail mixers, but there are other, excellent anti-oxidant rich drinks for your daily diet. Ginger Beer/Ale - Used so much in bar drinks. Make your own so you can indulge a little.
  21. Hi all, So I decided after trying most other things to give Dan's regimen a try. What have i got to lose right? I know nothing will probably 'cure' my acne but im more than happy to put some effort in to maintain it best I can. Anything is better than looking/feeling like I have for the past 9 years! I just got the 16oz kit to get myself going and see if the ingredients in Dan's products are the difference. But does anyone based in the UK have any reccommendations of good cleansers or moisturi

  24. il try not to write anything too arduous to read... at worst, my acne was quite nasty, big cysts would form just over my cheek bones but the rest of my face was only prone to the occasional white head. the cysts were particularly distressing though because they left hyperpigmented areas and slight depressions. although i'd been getting the occasional white head since age 14 it only got serious at about 18 and now im 20, its all gone. the best part being how the depressions have filled out and t
