  1. (moderators, please do not move this from the general acne discussion forum) Hey Guys! So my darling mother has always spent way too much time on scouring through Google and watching Dr Phil to diagnose herself with any number of things, and it drives me nuts. She's tried to diagnose me with all sorts ever since I could remember, but within the last year, I became very firm with her about not doing that anymore. One of the last things she had brought up before my 'ban' was "histamine intoler
  2. I am going to be starting Accutane in a day or two and my dermatologist told me to eat foods that are high in fat when I take my pill. I am a vegan and I am just wondering what some good foods are that are high in fat. So far I can think of olive oil, nuts (like peanut butter), and avocados. Would vegan butter be a food that is high in fat? Or can you tell me any other foods that would be good to eat?
  3. I am learning more and more about just how closely acne and diet are related. I've read a lot of books regarding nutrition and how it plays a role in either creating acne or encouraging clear skin. I never used to believe that eliminating certain foods could actually benefit skin health. I've seen it all first hand now though and I believe it more and more. Over Christmas and Thanksgiving, I indulged too much. I'm sure I'm not alone in that! It's such a hard time of year to stay on track but n
  4. I was eating gluten free cornchips and bean dip. and I was eating some chicken strips and some tacitos... and some gluten free pumking pie will any of these break me out?
  5. I started accutane about two weeks ago and I'm wondering if I'm able to eat foods that would usually break me out and not worry while on accutane? I know your supposed to take it with a high fat meal like peanut butter(but that breaks me out). Almonds, dairy, and pretty much all things that could break someone out do break me out. Would really appreciate some help.
  6. So does Kimchi cause acne? I was researching and others said that it doesn't? However, I've always heard that spicy foods cause acne. Have you ever tried experimenting this?

  8. Just for fun, what's a healthy or trendy food you just can't get into? For me its kale! I've tried really hard to eat it but I loathe it especially kale chips. Tastes like stiff seaweed! I occasionally put a few leaves in a smoothie but if I can taste it, allbets are off.
  9. Hey guys, just thought I'd share this for those who haven't been following my case. I'm now 100 percent clear and have been for a long time. I am on the regimen, which helps a lot, but it isn't only that. It's avoiding probiotics and fermented foods. I've been eating this stuff (kimchi) for years thinking that it's important to put "good bacteria" in my gut. As it turns out, that was majorly doing me in. In hindsight, I realized that I was eating something fermented all of the time my acne w
