  1. Hello everyone, welcome to my first post. This is for me to track my progress as I make changes to my lifestyle and diet inorder to clear my acne for good!! I normaly get spots on the temples of my forehead, along the jaw and on the lower parts of my cheeks. It gets really, really red and just looks so bad. I'm hoping that anyone reading this will be inspired to change parts of their lifestyle that could also be causing acne. If it helps just one person, I'll be happy. Firstly, let me start
  2. Hi everyone, so I've been trying to root out dietary causes of my longstanding acne/bacne and have gone dairy, gluten, and junk food free for a while in those efforts. I have seen some success which has been encouraging, although admittedly up and down. My question is for people's thoughts on Chipotle bowls. I basically eat Chipotle every day for lunch because it's the only spot nearby where I can reliably get non-dairy, gluten-free meals. I actually don't mind the repetition at all and my ini
  3. After upping my protein intake, my breakouts have lessened. Does having protein deficiency cause acne?
  4. Hi, I was wondering. How do you exactly know what food causes your acne For example: After binging on sugar how soon will something show up. Because it could also be a coincidence. Is it possible for acne to show up in 12 hours after binging on a box of sugar filled cookies? I haven't binged in so long but it was either that or doing something worse. It also seemed like nothing would improve my skin anyways so I was like screw this, I have restricted myself so long for no results. However
  5. It's very weird because for me potatoes can be incredibly bad for my skin, but other times I can eat them and be totally fine. It seems that whenever I get a baked potato from a restaurant or even make them myself I break out with large pimples somewhere on my face within a few hours. When I eat baked sweet potatoes I notice the same thing, maybe even worse, literally every time. However, I've been eating peeled, boiled red potatoes every day for a few weeks, and my skin seems to be fine. Last
  6. Hi guys just started my 3 month isotretinoin prescription ( 2nd day ) I'm just woundering if I can still take some vitamins apart from vit a. Like zinc, vit d3 and I just started hydrochloride with pepsin as I though I had low stomach acid, serrapeptase ive just received today so im it sure if I can take this and also milk thistle what I stopped taking when starting this course of medication, I'm not sure what I can take whilst using isotretinoin. also for those that have used isotretinoin wh
  7. The question has been circling in my mind for a while now... is the fact I’m having more sex the reason I’m getting acne? Ill give you some background info on my situation. I’ve never had any huge breakouts for most of my life. Always had clear skin. Until I went on the implant/met my man. i hated the implant and had it removed pretty fast. They say the hormones leave your body, but I’m not sure if they have? (Could be a factor) I have been vegan for over a year, but recently gluten fre

    Garlic.

Hello everyone, recently i've been eating organic, already peeled garlic gloves in the morning, afternoon and before bed. Other than that... Water water water, no soda. A quick way to get your vitamins is to combine coconut water (pure) with mixed greens ... you can buy these in square boxes at most supermarkets. And bananas, because they are cheap and filled with potassium and will bring out flavor in your shakes. There is one that contains A C K vitamins, which will give you energy, make you f
  9. I have read that you can't eat bread, cookies, diary products,so what can i eat as a snack except fruits and veggies?
  10. I eat like total crap. Bags of candy and cookies everyday, ice cream, crackers I’m a total binge eater and have always been. Although I have seen progress with my skin, starting tomorrow I’m going to fix up my diet significantly and then I’ll finally see if it makes mine worse and by how much. I’ll keep posting in here.
  11. I've told my story numerous times in other topics, so I am going to keep this short. Bottom line is, I am a 20 years old guy with very persistent acne. At some point, it was terrible enough for me to take Accutane, which worked very nice during the time I took it. Acne came back shortly after finishing a long, low dose course. Now it is annoying enough to ruin some of my days but not as bad as before. Accutane was the only thing that ever worked for me, and here are some facts that I've noticed
  12. So , I think i haven proven well for myself that every single time i eat mcdonalds fries and their other food ... i get huge pimples!!! .. at first i thought maybe it could be stress because i have been a little stress but i would go a week without eatting it and my face would be so clear, and then i did a week where i ate it and bam pimples everywhere and big ones and i thought maybe to make sure i would go another week without eatting it and again face would be clear and then i ate it and pi
  13. Do you think certain foods can cause Acne? Many people say it's true, some say it's a myth. Personally, I think it's a myth [no, I'm not just telling myself that]. I did an experiment months ago. I stopped eating all unhealthy foods, I went full vegetarian and I drank only water, up to 4 liters a day... aaaand.. I still broke out like crazy. Then I continued my normal food habits - unhealthy food, soda and less than a liter of water, and nothing has ever changed so far. Of course it's
  14. Hey guys, I hope to share with you what I have learned in my 12 years journey to clearing acne. I used to have moderate to severe acne. (I'm a guy btw) It took me 12 years to figure out because I was doing it by changing one factor at a time, and I wasn't really exactly focusing all my time and energy into it as well, that's why it took so long. 1 - Stress is my main root cause. Even at my best behaviour, I'll still get 1-3 medium spots when stressed. Acne worsens from 2X to 100X mainly ba
  15. Alright, so ill just a quick rundown. Like many people here - I had TERRIBLE acne as soon as I hit puberty. My diet was shit and never made the connection. I went to the dermatologist for a few years, nothing worked, parent kept saying "It'll go away naturally", fast foreward to 2014, im now 21 y/o and its barely any better - havn't had a clear face in almost 10 years - Not a SINGLE DAY. Get on accutane, because i'de honestly rather die than continue living like this. 6 months go by, shits aweso
  16. Could anyone please help with identifying what could be the root problem for my acne? I'm male, 27 years old, acne since puberty. Around nose, mouth and on scalp. I have something opposite of cystic acne, pimples mostly show up on outer layer of skin. Of all the tests I'v taken and doctors visited, only IgG4 food sensitivity panel show up that there's something wrong with me. High sensitivity to grains and gluten, dairy, few fruits and veggies. But as weird as it sounds, most of the time it
  17. I am dairy and gluten intolerant and know I should cut it out, but I look at people with clear glowing skin, stuffing their faces with cheeseburgers from McDonalds, and am extremely, extremely confused!!! Someone please explain this to me. Also, I was vegan and gf for 8 months, dancing everyday and STILL had spots. Please help me if you know anything about this subject. I was wondering if childhood diet has anything to do with it? When I was younger I used to eat so much melted cheese and fr
  18. Hello everyone, I for the most part have good skin. I started getting cystic acne starting i don't know when. I went to dermatologists and they would prescribe retin-a, tazorac, and aczone. Last year it took almost a whole year for retin-a to finally make a change. my skin was perfect. Until it wasn't. I got off it and my skin was doing great. Which made me happy cause I no longer want to take medication or use medicated creams. Now Im breaking out terribly on my cheeks. The lady that was doin
  19. Hi, Came across these videos a few weeks ago of an indian nutrition coach, who talks about incorporating these eight foods in your diet to get rid of both acne and scars. According to him it even gets rid of old deep scars, but of course you won't know for sure unless you try it. I've made sure to eat most of what he talks about now for a few weeks for some scars I have left and will continue to do so for a few months and see what happens. Anyway, thought some of you might be interested in try
  20. ★★★Exercise Causes Constipation!★★★ One great medical myth, prevailing for 2000 to 3000 years, is that physical exercise helps in preventing and curing constipation. This false belief is still being dogmatically propagated all over the world by practitioners of Allopathy, Ayurveda and Naturopathy, and by experts in Health Education and Sports Medicine. All therapies based on this dangerous dogma are a threat to the health of many patients. I have never found any scienti
  21. This has been happening to me for 10+ years. All food gives me acne- literally. All food prepared by a restaurant gives me super intense acne. Living like this is so terrible. Does anyone have advice/ tips for for not going insane while living with this horribly awful disease??
  22. So I saw that almost everyone started to avoid junk food and sugar to stop breaking out. Ok !! It's a good thing and I'm glad that people are more conscious about nutrition and the results of our healthy are behind our food and nutrition. But I saw that the people are afraid to eat even HEALTHY FOOD. I saw topics that users don't know what to eat even more and they avoid even the vegetables and fruits. I saw comments which say that "sugar is my biggest weakness" or "I don't know what to eat
  23. Hi guys, I had really terrible cystic acne almost two years ago now and since then it's cleared up with some red Post Acne Erythema marks on my cheeks which are really difficult to get rid of unless I pay some good $$$ for laser treatment but I'm a senior in college so that's obviously not happening any time soon. Anyways, when I do break out these days it's from hormones when I'm on or near my period OR when I eat sugar/fried foods. Sugar is my biggest weakness. I almost never eat candy bu
  24. I already cut out dairy. I'm also gluten free. Allergic to oats. No sugar. I had to cut out fruit also because in these forums they say that even natural sugars from fruit causes acne! Potatoes cause acne, rice causes acne, nightshade vegetables and certain fruits cause acne, nuts cause acne, beans&legumes causes acne, soy causes acne... The list goes on.. What is there left to eat? I cant find anything to eat! I'm SCARED to eat because they say nearly everything causes acne! Im severely und
  25. Hi my name is Joseph and I've been a victim of acne since I was 14. My skin problems became a lot worse at 17. I started having hair loss on top of my acne but I'm here because I'm struggling really bad and I feel like acne is taking over my life. I've been eating nothing but meats cooked with olive oil and veggies. I don't eat any sugar and any dairy and I still get moderate acne on my chin(a lot), nose, and cheeks especially my left. I have a few acne hyper pigmentation in the middle of my fac
