  1. Today my face is 90% clear. I only have two or three tiny zits. My back on the other hand is maybe just a little bit better. It's hard to tell but it's definitely not as bumpy as usual. Now onto what I ate. I had two eggs and some ham both fried with coconut oil sautéed spinach with olive oil and meat loaf A carrot stick And I'm gonna have a granola bar later And of course, a sh*t ton of water. Goodnight ✌️

So here we are. Almost two years I've been apart of the Acne.org communtiy and I still haven't found my turning point. There have definitely been some ups, and obviously some downs. I really thought I was starting to understand my skin though. I thought I knew what worked on it, and what didn't. I thought I was following the rules. But now I just don't know anymore. My skin has gone from being oily and getting random, unpredicable breakouts all over my face. To becoming more dry and senitive, bu
  3. I've told my story numerous times in other topics, so I am going to keep this short. Bottom line is, I am a 20 years old guy with very persistent acne. At some point, it was terrible enough for me to take Accutane, which worked very nice during the time I took it. Acne came back shortly after finishing a long, low dose course. Now it is annoying enough to ruin some of my days but not as bad as before. Accutane was the only thing that ever worked for me, and here are some facts that I've noticed
  4. Do you think certain foods can cause Acne? Many people say it's true, some say it's a myth. Personally, I think it's a myth [no, I'm not just telling myself that]. I did an experiment months ago. I stopped eating all unhealthy foods, I went full vegetarian and I drank only water, up to 4 liters a day... aaaand.. I still broke out like crazy. Then I continued my normal food habits - unhealthy food, soda and less than a liter of water, and nothing has ever changed so far. Of course it's
  5. Hey everyone, I'm totally new here. I just want to start off by asking a question. When I eat certain foods like; oats (oatcakes / porridge), corncakes, rice cakes, cereals (buckwheat etc), flours e.g. maize flour etc, it has a negative impact on my skin. My skin starts becoming severely visibly blotchy around my cheeks / temple area. I try to stay clear of these foods, but the other day I tried making gluten free bread and my skin just completely flipped out! Does anyone else have this proble
  6. hey everyone so im trying eliminate my acne and pimples on skin and I want start by cutting of some of my foods because im using cleanser and medication but still im getting some pimpels but i dont get what i need to cut off and what i should eat instead of it . so here is my diet plan during day morning tuna, eggs, cucumber, tomato, coffee Lunch - chicken breast with honey on it and some white rice , sesame, cucumber, tomato Dinner - agian some fish like tuna and eggs, cucumber and tomato
  7. So this is a random question but I feel like my acne left me with a lot of emotional problems. First of all when I had acne (now i only have some scarring left) I was always anxious to be in bad lighting and stuff like that. So i guess after so much constant worrying i still feel social anxiety bc it was so common to me before that it hasn't gone away even if the original problem is gone. Is there any way to get rid of this other than seeing a doctor? because I don't want any anxiety pills AT
  8. I have read that you can't eat bread, cookies, diary products,so what can i eat as a snack except fruits and veggies?
  9. Hey there. My name is Emma. I am 22 years old and live in London, England. Please support me in my experiment I will live on a whole foods, organic, vegan, high-carbohydrate diet for 3 months. I will track my nutritional info on CronoMeter. I will document my progress and experience so we can all learn from it. PURPOSE We can research journals, watch youtube and read the forums until we're blue (or red and lumpy) in the face. Only we, ourselves, can truly learn from experience. So here
  10. Hello everybody My name is Nina, I have been studying natural health and lifestyle yor many years with a focus on how stress/ food / exercise/ etc. affect our skin and what we can do to heal our skin and our bodies. I'm right now working on developing a programme which would include information on everything lifestyle related to heal your skin and why it is so difficult etc. I have a few questions and I would really appreciated it if you could answer some or all of them. Have you ever pa
  11. Hey guys I'm new to this Site and having been browsing over a lot of Posts..this forum seems like a great resource as well as support community for all of us who unfortunately are burdened with skin problems. Anyways a quick bio of myself is that I'm a 21 year old male who just started on accutane with a daily dosage of 60 mg..20 in the morning and 40 in the evening. My opening question is what would you guys suggest I eat with my pills. I have read that a high fat meal will help with absor
  12. There are some situations in which is very difficult to avoid high-carb foods. A friend invites you in his house for a dinner or going into a pizzeria just to hang out with your mates are quite common situations. Even though our daily diet is supposed to be low in carb-intake, sometimes we are "forced" to eat potatoes, pasta, pizza etc.. I have 2 questions about finding a trade-off that doesn't hurt too much our skin: 1)I know there are some foods that are anti-inflammatories, such as
  13. For roughly around a week I have been attempting to start a lower Glycemic Index/load diet (along with eliminating most processed foods and most sugars/artificial sweeteners) in hopes that would aid in my acne healing, but I feel like I am struggling a bit. I am not so much struggling with will power, but really knowing what to eat. I have a fairly restricted diet as I am a non-dairy vegetarian and have a sunflower seed/oil allergy (you'd be surprised of all that it's in....it can be restr
  14. So, from my research, these are the foods to go for to help get rid of acne. Please feel free to tell me anything that you think is good for acne that I can add to my list, or anything that is actually triggering that I should take off Honey Ginger Cinnamon Green tea Rooibos tea All fruits Berries Sweet potato Green-leafy veggies (e.g. spinach, kale) Nutmeg Fish Oil Oatmeal Lemons Turmeric Extra-virgin olive oil
  15. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys, in case it could help anyone. There are a lot of information out there about different causes of acne, but not so much about people’s sensitivity to specific food. I suffered from severe cystic acne for more than 6 years until I figured out slowly (over a period of 2 years) that it was all food related. I found out I am extremely sensitive to certain ingredients or additives in food, such as pectin, soy lecithin, xanthan gum, guar gum, and v
  16. What the frick. Everywhere I look website are like: It's a myth that acne is influenced by oily foods, junk food, chocolate, etc. I see this all over the place, but I know for a fact if I go into my kitchen right now and eat the three cookies that have been taunting me all day, I will break out. I hate two cinnamon roles and a cookie over the course of the day yesterday and ate healthy the rest of the day, and I "out of the blue" broke out HARD. Much worse that it usually is. I know th

  18. Hi everyone! I created this thread so that you can post your experiences with Wai Diet. There is a pinned thread for Paleo Diet, so I'd like to ask moderators to pin this thread too, please! I've been on Wai Diet for 9 months and I've been 99 to 100% clean since week 3. Before, I had moderate acne, with lots of inflammation. I used to have between 20 and 40 pimples, full of pus, spread all over my face. Notice that I burned my whole face and frontal neck 2 years ago (I'm 20 btw), wit
  19. Hi, Well, I've had pretty bad acne since about my junior year of high school. I'm a 20 year old male. It got out of control my senior year so I was put on Accutane. Accutane worked wonders for me face(although the 5 months on it were a living hell), and I had been relatively clear up until about 6 months ago (2 years post accutane). Now I'm starting to get breakouts again. I do still get occasional cysts, maybe once a month, but I seem to always have at least a few pimples around, and every
  20. Do greasy foods and sodas actually cause breakouts or is it all just in my head?
  21. Hello there, I am a longtime lurker and set up this account to share my story. I am a 30 year old female, and have been dealing with what I thought was hormonal, adult-onset acne for the past several years. I have an eating-disordered history, largely the result of attempting to avoid foods that seemed to trigger my acne. I have been vegetarian for 10 years, vegan most of those (including at present). I have a degree in holistic health, and was a raw foodist for a year. My acne went
  22. What Are the Best Foods for People with Acne?

The dermatological community still does not know whether diet impacts acne. However, some initial studies have shown that certain foods might possibly be better for acne than others. These foods include: Low-glycemic foods High-antioxidant foods Foods high in zinc Foods rich in omega-3 fats Low Glycemic Foods The glycemic load is a measurement scientists use to determine whether a food will cause an increase in the amount of sugar in your blood. High-glycemic load foods cause a lot of sugar in...
  23. After upping my protein intake, my breakouts have lessened. Does having protein deficiency cause acne?
  24. Hi, I was wondering. How do you exactly know what food causes your acne For example: After binging on sugar how soon will something show up. Because it could also be a coincidence. Is it possible for acne to show up in 12 hours after binging on a box of sugar filled cookies? I haven't binged in so long but it was either that or doing something worse. It also seemed like nothing would improve my skin anyways so I was like screw this, I have restricted myself so long for no results. However
  25. The question has been circling in my mind for a while now... is the fact I’m having more sex the reason I’m getting acne? Ill give you some background info on my situation. I’ve never had any huge breakouts for most of my life. Always had clear skin. Until I went on the implant/met my man. i hated the implant and had it removed pretty fast. They say the hormones leave your body, but I’m not sure if they have? (Could be a factor) I have been vegan for over a year, but recently gluten fre
