  1. To start off I've been a vegetarian for about 4 months now I haven't really seen any improvement in my skin but that's not really the reason im vegetarian in the first place, and my skin would probably be worse if i wasn't. I eat pretty healthy, a lot healthier than most my friends yet they still have perfect skin but I've been trying to eat less gluten, bread, pasta, stuff like that. Also no sweets but I have a massive sweet tooth and binge a lot so I'm thinking that having this blog will help
  2. Okay this is only going to be a quick update to make sure I don't fall too far behind, and to act as an incentive for my spotty friends to blog. Following on from the issue of allergic reaction/irritation, this was me by about 2 am on Monday night: Schematic depicting extent of discomfort resulting from contact dermatitis. Subject was medicated with antihistamines (Phenergan 25 mg), which succeeded in subduing symptoms significantly. So I have a shower and become intolerably itchy (ev
  3. Hi guys just started my 3 month isotretinoin prescription ( 2nd day ) I'm just woundering if I can still take some vitamins apart from vit a. Like zinc, vit d3 and I just started hydrochloride with pepsin as I though I had low stomach acid, serrapeptase ive just received today so im it sure if I can take this and also milk thistle what I stopped taking when starting this course of medication, I'm not sure what I can take whilst using isotretinoin. also for those that have used isotretinoin wh

    4 months with Diane-35

Already doing 4 months into this birth control pill... It has been a roller-coaster trip. Emotionally and physically. The good news? My ACNE has get a lot better, but it hasn´t disappear completely. I have already said it, but the thing of the breasts getting bigger is 100% true!. Also, my hirsutism has improve. And I don´t have massive, long periods as before. The bad side effects? First things first, my mood: I feel sometimes SO depressed, not knowing why. And my tummy is swollen as

  6. I'm 23 years old and I've dealt with acne for 15 years. I won't go into the physical and emotional toll it took on me because everyone's is familiar with the feeling or you wouldn't be reading this. Of course I've tried almost everything except for accutane. The only thing that "temporarily" saved my skin was birth control. It was like a saving grace for me. No more greasy hair, skin, raging emotions and of course, no more acne. I literally woke up one morning and my skin was completely clear. N
  7. Given the huge range of lotions, brushes and supplements out there that claim to help reduce or even remove acne, it can be quite disheartening for people with the condition to be repeatedly met by failure or unsatisfactory results each time they try something new. Some products may be more effective than others, but there's more to preventing acne than simply trying to medicate it. One of the best ways to help battle the problem is to eat foods that are rich in minerals and vitamins that are no
  8. Hey Guys, Short update. I'm currently on accutane and my skin is pretty much clear. I eat low glycemic foods, only drinks water, eat berries, fruits, vegetables etc. Yesterday and today I ate oatmeal with some honey, will this cause any pimples or make me break out? It was only yesterday and today, that I ate honey with my oatmeal. Do you have any experience with acne and honey? Will I get pimples because I ate it yesterday and today?
  9. ★★★Exercise Causes Constipation!★★★ One great medical myth, prevailing for 2000 to 3000 years, is that physical exercise helps in preventing and curing constipation. This false belief is still being dogmatically propagated all over the world by practitioners of Allopathy, Ayurveda and Naturopathy, and by experts in Health Education and Sports Medicine. All therapies based on this dangerous dogma are a threat to the health of many patients. I have never found any scienti
  10. So I saw that almost everyone started to avoid junk food and sugar to stop breaking out. Ok !! It's a good thing and I'm glad that people are more conscious about nutrition and the results of our healthy are behind our food and nutrition. But I saw that the people are afraid to eat even HEALTHY FOOD. I saw topics that users don't know what to eat even more and they avoid even the vegetables and fruits. I saw comments which say that "sugar is my biggest weakness" or "I don't know what to eat
  11. I already cut out dairy. I'm also gluten free. Allergic to oats. No sugar. I had to cut out fruit also because in these forums they say that even natural sugars from fruit causes acne! Potatoes cause acne, rice causes acne, nightshade vegetables and certain fruits cause acne, nuts cause acne, beans&legumes causes acne, soy causes acne... The list goes on.. What is there left to eat? I cant find anything to eat! I'm SCARED to eat because they say nearly everything causes acne! Im severely und
  12. Hey! So I did research and found articles saying exercise is good and bad for Leaky Gut. They found athletes varied, but often had bad bacteria and their gut, however people who exercised often get a boost in their gut health. I take it diet, and over exercising probably plays a role. I also read that intense exercise can decrease blood flow to the gut and intestines resulting in negative affects. If you have any info on this, please share. Also, please share anything you know abo
  13. Hey guys, need help! If you don't wanna read my messed up story, skip to the bottom questions. So I got a prick test for food allergies/sensitivities. the doctor was pissed off cuz he said he didn't think food had anything to do with my health issues. The results came back and I was right. He was still mean about it. So the results said i was highly sensitive to soy and a lot of other stuff. It said I was barely sensitive to eggs and not sensitive at all to oats. I ate eggs and oats
  14. Hey guys! I'm completely aware of how detrimental dairy products are for the skin and almost always try to steer clear of them. Earlier today, I discovered that Bio-Yogurt (natural) had been put in my dinner and I did a little bit of research on it, and several sources seems to say that bio-yogurt is the only dairy product that is beneficial for the skin due to it being probiotic. I'm really confused about whether it's going to make my acne worse or better right now. Do any of you guy
  15. Hello! I'm new! I've just started my third course of accutane, starting on 30mg per day for 4 weeks and will probably be upped after that. Right now I am completely reliant on the pill Dianatte (Co-cyprindiol), I don't have one spot right now other than whitehead/blackhead type bumps which never go away! but I can't begin to tell you how bad my skin is when I'm not on this pill. I have the oiliest skin I have ever seen on anyone, to be honest I would be so shocked if even one person on
  16. Another reason behind increasing food allergies: imbalanced gut flora and lack of good bacteria to help with proper digestion of food. Of course, we here on this forum already know all this, but now there's scientific research to verify these connections. This particular study (link below) suggests that the good bacteria that antibiotics kill, such as clostridia, can act as a barrier between the allergen and the bloodstream and therefore prevent allergic/ histamine reactions. A lot of people
  17. What are your "safest" menu items for Mexican, American, Asian, and Italian restaurants? I almost never eat out these days, so I'm usually at a loss when it comes to ordering at restaurants. I have some important social functions coming up and I have to have formal work dinners at several restaurants. So I can't avoid it....what do you recommend I order in each of these restaurants? Also, drink suggestions as well...not soda, alcoholic ones...usually I go with vodka-based, but I'm not sure what
  18. I've been suffering from acne for 2 years and I believe it's a genetic thing but I'm trying to take care of it the best way I can. Other than doing my normal skincare routine, what can I do to help me skin get better? I've been trying to find a good diet but if you could give me some examples, that would be appreciated. Also, I live in a dorm environment, so I don't have access to a kitchen of any sorts but I plan on buying a rice cooker and I don't think I'm allowed to have a hot plate or anyth
  19. So this is my first post. I am a 21 year old male, and I have had moderate to very bad acne since I was a teenager. It's very bad now. I have been going to an NAET practicioner, but I feel like I am just wasting my money. He also told me that I have a weakness to yeast and hat I have some internal intestinal issues. However, he also told me I am allergic to just about every vegetable. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to eat. I hate living like this. I need advice from someone. I
  20. I have struggled with acne since I was about 11 years old, and now 23 years old I was still struggling with moderate acne. I have tried every treatment under the sun, but with no success. I would have mild acne pretty much all the time, but about a week before my "time of the month" came I would always get moderate acne on my face and sometimes on my shoulders. Another problem for me was that in the summer my face would always get really oily and that always made my acne worse, but I had no c

  22. Hi everyone, just a couple of questions to answer please for anyone that has managed to work it out. How long does it take for you to breakout from any "triggers" that you know you have? How long does it then take for the breakouts to stop? Ie. not how long for the breakouts to fade but how long for new spots to stop forming\pop up. Eg. if sugar is your trigger and you eat a chocolate bar, drink a coke etc which then leads to a breakout, how long for the spots to first appear
  23. Hi guys, This is my first post on here and I thought I would join the acne.org community after being put on Roaccutane (I live in the UK) or Accutane. This is my 4th day taking 30mg once a day of Accutane and just have a question on what is the best way to take Accutane. I read the instruction leaflet given with my Accutane and it said to take it with food or milk which I have been doing. Do you need to take Accutane with water whilst you are take it with your food? Because, I've bee

  25. Hi there. I've lurked on here for years (and actually had a different active account for awhile, but lost that email address and can't get back in.) I've been clear on and off for awhile now, but I need help. I'm so confused. Even my naturopath is stumped on what to do with me going forward. I'm hoping if I share my story, someone might have some idea on what I can try next. Story (I'll keep it as short as possible): Skin goes crazy with heavy moderate acne at the age of 12. It's practi
