  1. So I’ve been taking a generic form of yaz birth control continuously (meaning I take only active pills to not get a period) for a few months, and my skin has been unbelievably clear after a long struggle. Recently I had to take an antibiotic for a UTI. The antibiotic interfered with my birth control and decreased its effectiveness, which I knew because I started bleeding and continued to bleed for almost a week and half. This was about three weeks ago. Since the antibiotic and the bleeding, I h

  4. Hi there, A few months ago I was prescribed Duac to use every night and my moderate acne really did start to clear up! So much so that when the cream ran out I didn't need to get another one. ive recently broken out again (not severely) but still noticeable. And my Dr has prescribed me Duac again and also an anti biotic called Lymecycline (56 tabs over the course of a few months). I guess guess what I would like to know is, do these two products work well together and how did you find that th
  5. I am only a week into my accutane treatment and I haven’t gotten a single new pimple. I can’t remember the last time I went a whole week without getting at least 1 new pimple. So, is this just a coincidence or can accutane really start working that fast?
  6. I’ve been taking clindamycin for 4 years and I just got off due to concern for taking an antibiotic for that long. What are some of the effects this could have had on my body? and how will my skin react to me getting off antibiotics when I’ve relied on them for so long?

    Turmeric Mask Breaking Me Out?

It's been a month that I've been using a turmeric face mask almost every other night (1 part turmeric, 2 parts yogurt). Originally I was interested in using it to see some facial hair reduction, and then I heard it was used to treat acne too, so I decided to give it a go. Well, comparing my face from a month ago to now, my acne's gotten pretty bad. I've had some cysts on my jawline for days, and I'm getting several on my cheeks too ( ). I'm also getting a bunch of subsurface bumps on my forehead
  8. Hello, I had some quick questions pertaining to Accutane. Thanks in advance! The first questions I have relates to the moisturizer I've been using (Eucerin Professional Repair), does anyone know if this is a plausible choice to use, and if it causes break outs to occur? My dermatologist recommended for me to use "Aquaphor Healing Ointment" for my lips while on Accutane, however, after using it I sometimes will develop little pimples around my lips, should I continue to use this or fin

I just wanted to rant a little, I had to take a day off of having a double application recently plus both of my pets have died, my aunty got sectioned and it was all a little stressy... anyway I have had a little flareup.... nothing major but its involving one massively huge spot I can feel rising all warm and angry from the deepest level of my skin..... i'll be needing some benzoyl peroxide to deal with this I think..... need to buy some again for the first time in ages..... Still loving the ot
  12. Hey everyone, I just wanted some advice, or to see if anyone else has experienced what I have. Recently I have moved to a neighboring State for a job opportunity. Ever since then my acne has gotten HORRIBLE, with flares up. At first I thought it was because I started to wear make-up for my job, I stopped doing this and the problem has not resolved. Then I thought it could be stress. However there is one big reason why I think it could be the water in the new state. Essentially, I go home fo
  13. Hi Guys, i understand everyone's reactions and a bit different but I thought I would share some important tips of how I handled my initial accutane flare up so hopefully can save you from unessecary suffering! I am a young looking 42 years and weight 60kg This is my second course of accutane. After years of suffering I found accutane was the NO 1 most effective treatment in clearing my skin and keeping in clear for the longest time. If have been suffering please do see your Dermatolo
  14. For maybe a year or two years I've had several permanent bumps around my jawline and hairline & right where my ear joins my head that seem to go through cycles. When they are "calm" they are small, very hard, flesh-coloured bumps. Hard to see but feel very firm to the touch. If I squeeze them (yes, I know I shouldn't) a white substance comes out but it's not like normal pus, it is white rather than yellow and waxy rather than liquid-y. If they get irritated, either by touching or who
