    Regimen, And Side Effects?

Hello acne.org community. So I have a problem. I am starting to think that the Regimen's cons actually out weigh the pros. It is currently month 3, and I have seen some results. They are not the best by far, but definitely getting there. Anyway, I am still experiencing very dry and flaky skin. I have to bring a moisturizer to school, and every period I have to say I have to go to the bathroom, and apply moisturizer. I am very self conscious about how I look, and the flakiness is not good. I have

    Week 6 Help!

I'm on my 6th week of the regimen and my skin is still bright red and peeling and flaky. When will this go away? What can I do to help it?
  3. I have been on the regimen for about a year now. It worked for me, all my acne has disappeared. However, every so often specific parts of my face (specifically the side of my left eye and the right cheek) become severely irritated. The skin turns red, it flakes and peels, it stings, and afterwards, there's a slight scar (not sure that I can call it that?) or at least mark (noticeably whiter, elevated skin) left from the irritation. The first time this happened, I tried not putting BP on the i
  4. Hello all, This is a recent problem I've been facing with my skin and hopefully I can get some help :,) So I started using a face wash that my friend let me use because she didnt want it anymore, but it has exfoliating beads in it and since I dont have tons of money I kept using it because I thought i could get away with it until i can convince my parents to buy me a new one. Long story short, it's making me suffer now because the over exfoliating (i also exfoliate once a week and my face ma
  5. So I've been using The Regimen for about 2 and half months now and my skin is partly clear. There's still some hyper pigmentation from old pimples and my skin is still a little bumpy. However, my skin is really flaky and red and moisturizer doesn't really help, leaving my skin looking really parched. The moisturizer seems like it just lays on top of the dead skin and it makes my face look oily as well. I really want to scrub my face, but I don't since irritation = acne. I use Dan's AHA+ every 3
  6. hey guys!!!! So i have been experiencing flaky on my forehead and redness on my cheek and my nose. I also tend to miss applications every now and then. But how do i combat the redness and flakiness. Does Jojoaba oil help with this?
  7. Hello everyone, I usually dont do this type of thing but I really need some help and advice. Im an 18 year old male whos a senior in highschool. I'm committed to play college football at a school in Nebraska and I just want to get my skin 100% normal again and get rid of all my acne probelms before I arrive on campus. I have had pretty bad acne breakouts off and on for the past year and a half and has led to alot of post marks and scars that have not gone away. Ive noticed that I have pretty la
  8. Hi! im relatively new to the regimen, i started it a couple weeks ago and made the mistake of using 10% bp, my skin turned red and eventually i had a layer of dead skin that peeled of in large flakes, my skin felt tight and moisturizer did little to help but my acne seems to slowed and such. Im planning on buying from acne.org so i can stop with the hit and misses when buying from the store. As of right now i still get smaller dry flakes on my skin and cannot apply any more bp since i only have

    HEEELPP!!

So I started the regimen a few months ago and continued doing it for two months. I have oily skin but it looks pretty good with make up. I just wanted to stop using make up and I wanted my scars to disappear. I got really tired of the dryness and stopped it. I started it again two weeks ago since I saw how it made my pores smaller. Now I'm in the middle of my second week and my flakes are back. I need to use make up almost everyday and I am trying any cleanser and moisturizer I can but nothing s
  10. It's been just over a month and a half on Accutane. I'm on 40mg once daily. My skin had an initial breakout when I first started that was really bad but only lasted about a week. Once my skin healed from that it was nearly flawless besides scarring and hyperpigmentation. Then once again my skin broke out last week, assumably from my period, and it's slowly starting to heal up now. I've also gotten a few closed comedones (?) their like little headless pimples on my cheeks. They aren't too bad but
  11. Hello fellow acne sufferers, I have been on Duac(benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin) and retin a micro .04 % now for over a year, and my skin is so oily, yet so flaky. I am trying to cure my flakiness. I am currently using cetaphil moisturizer, but it is not doing enough. Here are my options: -jojoba oil -Cetaphil moisturizing cream -aquaphor -cerave pm moisturizer what are your thoughts?
  12. I'm 19 years old male and I've been suffering acne for the past 5 years. During this time I've used almost everything (bp, salicylic acid, zinc oxide you name it), now my skin looks really old, flaky and most of all oily on the top but looks dehydrated AF on the bottom. I've used bp for the past 2 years which helped with acne but it never solved the problem. Looking now I believe that it was bp that damaged my skin permanently. Now I'm going as natural as possible. My routine: AM - wash face w

    Help Help Help

I've struggled with moderate acne since ~grade 7, and I'm 18 now. I haven't picked at it since middle school, but I have these awful red marks that just won't go away! From researching, I think they're hyperpigmentation? My dermatologist doesn't seem to think they're a big deal, and gave me a 5% glycolic acid moisturizer thing that doesn't help at all. I'm wondering if I should look into chemical peels/other removal methods, but my skin is so sensitive that I'm not sure if it would worsen.

    Flaky Skin. Help!

Hello all, So i am now on my fourth week of using the regimen and my skin is ridiculously flaky with okay improvement on my acne. The first 2 weeks I did not have any type of flaking but now i cant even put my makeup on without it peeling off. If i do as little as scratch my forehead, I end up with skin under my fingernails. It's gotten so bad that my main worry right now is the flaking and not my acne. Also, after washing my face with the cleanser my face feels really dry and it gets very

    Using Oil As A Cleanser?

This is my fifth week on the regimen and my skin improved a LOT but , my skin seemed to be fine when i don't wear any makeup but as soon as i put on foundation my skin looks sooo dry and flaky and peeling and gross and scaly, i looked like a lizard. i didn't have school so it was okay for the first 3 weeks but then last week i went out quite a bit and tried to wear makeup and it was TERRIBLE like fr its so hard to put makeup on.. and then i got fed up and i didnt use DK cleanser i just used oil,
  16. I'm on week 4 of the regimen and so far I had been very motivated. I haven't gotten any new acne and my face has dried up, I had been flaky but figured it's normal at the beginning. I have increased my BP dosage to 2/3 of fingers length and since last night, my face has been very itchy, dry and burning. should I decrease the BP amount? I don't want to stay red like this; am loosing hope... Any advice? I've ordered the jojoba oil and am waiting for it to arrive.
  17. this is my last week of my 20mg accutane course and iam experiencing flakes on my scalp should i go off accutane, im really scared is this dandruff?? pls someone has to help ????
  18. I've been on the Regimen for 10 months now. I loved the Regimen because it cleared my skin and I never felt better. That was about 6 months ago. I haven't had more than a few hicups following the Regimen which was about 6 months ago. I have followed it with perfection for about 6 months. I used to look on these forums for cures to flakyness and after realizing how much time I wasted I realized no one is going to help me by telling me AHA works. AHA doesn't do shit for flakes. If I am missing som

    Weird skin condition

Hello everyone *(Picture attached)* I've been battling with this wired type of skin / facial hair on my chin for a long time (1 year). I personally believe that it's caused by harsh products that I've been using. Before my summer holiday I completely stopped using any skin care products, except for a moisturizer (that isn't harsh). I hoped that this would allow my skin to heal, but after some time I can conclude that it's hasn't changed. My description of the condition: After using harsh pr
  20. I've been on Spiro for almost a week now, 50 mg/day. I really like how drastically it has already reduced my oil production, it's a god send to have way less sebum on my scalp/face. But I am concerned about how dry and peely my skin is becoming. I washed with just plain water several times today, and I'm so dehydrated and need a LIGHT moisturizer...but all of them seem to break me out badly! I am not sure what to use, as fatty alcohols/acids [like cetyl/cetearyl alcohol] are major triggers. Ce

    What Has Worked For Me

So I just wanted to say a few things about these last 6 weeks that I've been on the regimen and what has worked for me. Starting in my 20's I was getting a few pimples here and there but they would always go away nicely and never left any PIH marks. The summer of this year I all of a sudden started to breakout A LOT. I had like 10 pimples on my face and 2-3 coming in over night and they would leave horrible red marks. I started the regimen 6 weeks ago with the Neutrogena On the Spot BP for

    Stopping Bp For A Week

My skin has mostly cleared up from active acne but it's extremely dehydrated and flaky ,, no amount of moisturizer would help and any product i apply simply flakes off or balls up.. nasty. So I have decided to cut it out of my regimen for a week and then go back only treating affected areas with tiny amounts. This might not be my best Idea, but I really can't deal with this dry tired looking skin. Yes, I have tried cutting back on the amount but I think what my skin needs is some time to r
  23. Hey guys, I started The Regimen in October of 2014, so this is my 14th week or so. I'm still having problems with breakouts and dryness though. My acne is significantly improved, I only get 2-3 pimples at the most if I breakout, and between breakouts I have 3-4 day periods of clear skin. The problem is the that I have very flaky and dry skin, and I expected the breakouts to be gone by now. I did increase the level of BP too quicky for my first 5 weeks on the regimen, but I would expect my skin t
  24. Hello (long post) Picture explanation The first photo of my nose, is right after I’ve cleansed my skin and removed the dead skin with a cotton pad. You can see that my skin doesn’t have any hydration or a protective barrier. The second photo shows my chin after waking up. You can see the yellow / white flakes of dead skin on my chin. I do also have this on the rest of my face (mainly: chin, nose and eyebrows). The amount of flaky skin on my face varies from day to day and I don’t know
  25. I have been using acne.org regime on and off for about a year. It leaves me pretty clear although i still get breakouts during my period. However, even though i have been using it for about a year, my skin is still extremely dry and flaky i don't think it has gotten use to the BP. I use two bumps of moisturizer after i apply BP yet multiple times throughout the dry i have to continually moisturize my face because it becomes so dry and irritating. I have tried to reduce the amount of BP, but then
