  1. I just need to say, WOW, my skin was flaky yesterday. I have no idea what happened. I washed my face and flakes came off on my towel! I could've peeled so much of my face off. It was weird, but I suppose it's better to let some layers shed and keep my skin as fresh as possible. Gotta get all of the rest of that buried acne out of there! Speaking of such, I'm very irked by a cluster of bumps under my skin on my problem cheek. The other side of my face is SO much clearer, what's going o
  2. Hey guys, so first of all i would like to address the fact of me not smiling in this photo, which for many of you dont know is a rare occurrence. i LOVE to smile but right now my face is so sore that this is the biggest smile i can manage lol. So i just finished washing my face and im waiting for it to dry so i can put my RAM on. but my face (mainly around my mouth), is burning really bad! im not sure why. For the past few days, everytime i wash my face and it comes time to put on my clyndamycin
  3. I’ve been using Paula’s Choice benzoyl peroxide 2.5%. It works great, it’s keeping me for the most part pretty clear. However, the dry skin is miserable. And I’m 33 so it makes me look older. It’s flaky, peeling, just not so good. It itches like hell too. After I wash my face I moisturize, then wait about 15 minutes to apply the BP. I do it morning and night. Still having issues with the irritation. What can I do to lessen the irritation? Maybe instead of twice a day just once? Idk. I also don’
  4. Hey guys, so I've been using the acne.org regiment for almost a year now and it's done WONDERS for my skin. Seriously changed my life. I still endure some random zits, hormonal breakouts, and pretty noticeable scarring. All of these things I've learned to deal with. However, recently my skin has become so dry it's cracking and flaking off my face. I have NEVER had dry skin...I've been oily in my T-Zone my entire pubescent and teenage life. I am now 21 and have the shininess under control (kind-o
  5. Hi fellow acne sufferers, I started the regimen almost 4 weeks ago and I am experiencing extreme extreme, redness, tight skin, swelling, cracking and skin constantly peeling off from dryness. I follow the regimen very strictly (cleanse gently, bp, then 2 full pumps of moisturizer). The first week, I started with a small about of bp, then slowy ramped up to 1 full pump day and night. I have probably been doing the one full pump day and night for 4 days and my skin is freaking out. My breakouts
  6. It's been almost a month and half since I re-started The Regimen. Dan's instructions were too fast for my skin's tolerance the first time so I stopped completely, started again in the middle of November, and worked my way up VERY slowly. I'm currently using between half and a 3/4 pump of BP morning and night- I kind of just eyeball it on my finger and it's been working fine. My skin isn't irritated, red, or hot at all anymore but I'm still flaking on the apples of my cheeks and around my mouth
  7. My cousin showed me this regimen for acne that she tried herself and she also has moderate acne like mine. Her skin is the clearest I have ever seen on a human being. I paid 145 dollars and after using the sulfur face wash, scar lightening toner, benzoyl peroxide dual treatment gel and oil free moisturizer, my skin has gone from an oil slick to DRY. My skin peels off in CHUNKS. The past week I've only used the wash and toner and using baby lotion for the dryness and it's still flaking off.
  8. Soo I've been on Tretinoin Cream and Monodox for 5 months now. My acne is getting better.. still gets really bad every now and then. I used to have no acne at all. I decided to go on birth control and my body freaked out on every pill I tried. I finally had to give up. During the time I was struggling with birth control, I started to get horrible acne and really really really oily skin. Even though I haven't been on a pill for about 7 months now, my acne is still bad and my skin is still awfull
  9. It's been a few days short of a month since I started the regimen and my skin is *STILL* flaking- predominantly around my mouth & eyebrow area. And if I don't have a crap ton of moisturizer on (i.e. sometimes I roll around too much when I sleep and I tend to transfer most of it off onto my pillow, leaving my face dry in the morning) my skin then ends up looking leather-like in the flakey areas. I'm pretty much used to the BP at this point - no burning or itching, just still a slightly fl
  10. Hey! (: So I'm very proud of my progress on the Regimen thus far. My skin is looking a lot better! My red spots are fading and I'm mostly clear (still having minor breakouts every now and then). The only problem is that my skin is still extremely dry. I feel like nothing is helping! I've tried exfoliating with jojoba, I'm using AHA, I have no idea what to do. I've even ended up just scraping at my skin a few times, which is horrible! I don't know how to solve this problem without causing irr
  11. Hi guys i started on the regimen like two momths ago and i was still flaking i was using all of dans products moisturizer would always leave a yellow tint on my face i really didnt like it.. A few weeks ago i switched up things and sfarted to just use cerave hydrating cleanser and there moisturizer because the flakes were so bad... But now im braking out like crazy.. I want to get back on dans regimen but use an alternative moisturizer like neutrogena.. Should i restart the regimen.. And continu
  12. So I'm three weeks into the regimen at the moment. As frustrating as it is still seeing no significant positive results, I'm continuing to follow the regimen diligently and trying my best to be patient. I'm having quite a significant reaction to the benzoyl peroxide however, and I was looking for further clarification regarding applying the regimen. As is apparently typical even in the third week, my skin is horrifying at the moment. It's dry, very red, and extremely flakey - as in, every mor
  13. So I've mentioned it before, my skin would not flake after my morning and night application of the regimen. But after a bath in the afternoon/evening, my skin would still flake terribly. Applying moisturizer after the bath seems to help but it still flakes if i don't apply! Question is, if it doesn't stop, should i stop using the regimen all together? Or maybe should i lower my bp dosage? It's weird cause i used to have really oily skin
  14. Hi all, I’ve been reading lots on this site recently and it’s really helped me feel like I’m not alone in my struggle with acne as someone in their mid-twenties (25), though it feels like everyone around me has perfect skin and I never grew out of the teenage phase! I wondered if anyone has any good tips for products/regimes that have helped with extremely sensitive skin? To give you an idea, if I scratch/rub even the smallest area of my skin anywhere on my body, it will be bright red for a
  15. Hi All, I have been on the regimen for about a month this time around, I used the regimen for a while about 5 years or so ago, I can't remember why I stopped (I think because it was just too much hassle and my skin wasn't that bad at that point). My skin is super dry, tight, kind of sore, wrinkles look way more pronounced (I am 31) and I am still breaking out I am using probably 1/2 the full amount of BP morning and night, 1 full pump of moisturizer (even 1 pump takes forever to absorb for
  16. Okay so first, my questions: Does anyone have any advice for applying makeup when using topicals? What kind of moisturizer works the best for keeping skin hydrated and wearing underneath makeup? Here's a little background if you're interested: I've been using Duac and Retin-A as a regimen for the past few weeks (I was initially on Differin and then switched to Retin-A, but I've been using Topicals since April) and while my acne is subsiding, I do have a lot of pigmentation and unevenes
  17. Using advice from this forum, I have tried using jojoba oil in several ways, from using it in moisturiser, as a scrub, with face wash, as shaving oil etc. I have had some success in combating flakiness, but not total. However, one thing I have not seen mentioned on this forum, but I have heard elsewhre, is mixing it with the BP. Has anyone had any experience of this or think there is any reason why it may not be effective at reducing overall flakiness? Living in the UK, I have to use panoxyl
  18. Hi guys, I'm about 6 weeks into the regimen and not experiencing that great results yet but my main concern right now is the amount of flaking I'm getting. I use 2 full pumps of moisturiser but that doesn't seem to help. Applying makeup is a disaster and I look scaly. I can't gently scratch my forehead without getting dead skin under my nail. It's really bothering me as I start college soon and knowing that my flaking is going to be so obvious is bumming me out. Has anyone got any suggestions on
  19. Hello Anyone, Someone lol, I have been using the Acne.org Regimen/Products for almost 2 months now, and I am pleased to say that my acne has cleared up rapidly. Using the 2.5% BP has helped me gain more control over my breakouts and I currently have no active breakouts, however I have only been able to work my way up SLOWLY to one pump morning and night due to increased sensitivity (dryness, flaking, redness, irritation, etc.) over the course of the entire two months. The flakes have a li
  20. So I am just a week shy of hitting my 6 month mark on the regimen, and I am still battling excessive flakiness. I wake up with a big amount of flakes all over my face, and also at night, I start to flake quite a bit as well, not even 12 hours post morning routine. Here is my current daily routine, for both morning and night: Cleanse, 1.5 pumps bp, and Cerave Moisturizing Lotion to moisturize, with about 6 drops of jojoba oil. Please help me out as this is very frustrating, and I haven't hear
  21. Hi, i'm 22 and have been used the regimen: cleanser, treatment, moisturizer for almost 2 years, but i dont use it continuously. Whenever my skin got clearer, i stop using it. Then recently, my acne comes back so i decided to use the regimen again, this one is the 3rd one already. However, this time i'm experiencing everything that a person will experience when they use the regimen for the first time. i'm really confused because i thought once your skin got used to benzoyl peroxide, you won't exp
  22. Hi So I've been on the regimen for almost 2 weeks and my acne is disappearing and I have had no more breakouts. However, my skin is flaking everywhere and I have no idea how to exfoliate my skin without irritating it. I have heard AHA can help to exfoliate your skin however I've only been on the regimen for 2 weeks. Is that too soon to introduce AHA? How do I stop this flaking skin!! Help!
  23. I'm going into my 4th week of The Regimen, built my way up slowly with the BP, and have been on 1 full pump morning and night for about a week now - half a pump only at night for the first week, half a pump morning and night the second week, and a full pump morning and night the third week. For the last couple of days my face has been flushed, warm to the touch, generally just really uncomfortable, and flaking like crazy. I thought the BP had started pilling up under my moisturizer, but nope, i
  24. Hi, I had acne problem these two years. I randomly had breakouts on my forehead and cheeks and left with dark red spots on my face. I tried to use the regimen. This is my forth week. I didn't get the expected effect after four weeks, even though I follow the treatment precisely. Right now, my face are very dry and it's still flaking. I feel my face is not soft any more and I looked like much order on my face. I still got new breakouts on my forehead recently. Every time I applied the moisturizer
  25. Hi Last week I was prescribed duac gel once daily and my skin is going mental! I'm flaking and red and just urgh. Wondered if anyone had experienced this and knew if these effects fade or stop occurring? Also, in terms of moisturisers, what is the best to pair with Duac since I've got combination skin? Please help, looking in the mirror is NOT COOL at the moment. Oh well. Things could be worse. Advice would be well appreciated x
