  1. I've been a follower of these boards for several months now and know many of your stories ... stalker much, right? L0L So tomorrow morning I will go and pick up my first round of accutane; really excited and nervous also!! I've tried it all and this is the last option to get rid of my acne. Hmm ...I hate that word-acne; along with bumps, pimples, cysts, whiteheads, blackheads, knots!! I just really dont want to have to use any of them again!! I know, impossible dream!! Anyways, back to my acne,

    Frustrated With Derm

Hi all,I am currently 2 months into my accutane course. I am taking 20mg/day and I weigh between 52-53kg. I visited the nhs derm last week and he said that my skin was looking good and I may only have to do a 4 month course. However he only gave my skin a brief glance and said that I had no active acne... a massive lie! that day I had 2 new cysts on my left cheek as well as some on my back, as well as blackheads on my nose, chest and back. Is my derm blind or optimistic? My acne isn't severe how
  3. So today is my first day of trying the acne.org regimen but since my products haven't arrived yet I will be using some of the products I have at home. Facewash: Dermalogica Ultra calming cleanser Treatment: Tretinoin cream 0.1 Moisturizer: Dermalogica Active moist with a vitamin e oil capsule to help with my scaring Last night I also started the Epsom salt soak to try and bring these cysts to heads. I'll see how this works and let yall know.

    Accutane Log

My Accutane Log! Hello and welcome to my Accutane log! I am 5'9" and weigh 135 lbs and am female. I have had moderate acne since I was 13. My acne is not exactly cystic, but is rash-like--spreading over certain parts of my face and stubbornly staying for long periods of time. I would also say that I had plenty of closed comedones, which are incredibly frustrating because they give your skin a rough, bumpy look that is especially embarrassing in the sunlight. Not too mention the ugly, swollen pr
  5. First day on accutane! I'm turning 21 in a couple of months and I've had acne since the eighth grade (so about 8 years). Every year it gets worse. Right now it would only take a glance to know that my acne is severe. My forehead is usually okay, with minimal scarring. However, both of my cheeks and chin are pretty much all covered with marks and breakouts. And recently, I've started breaking out near both my temples, which makes my whole face covered in acne. Since I probably can't get
  6. Hey all. I'm not sure if this is the best place for this thread, but lets go anyway. Before I start, I want to say I can understand this topic being crindgy, and a bit strange but I think it's a valid topic, and one worth discussing. Most men, and maybe the same can be said for women? But yeah most people masturbate in my opinion, men especially, I'd know, it's normal, just like anything else. I'll admit recently after splitting up with my girlfriend some months ago, I have been addic
  7. hi, so I've been struggling with acne since I was about 13, but recently it has flared up as a result of the birth control pill that I started in late June-early July. I've been on 5 different medications that have all failed (duac, zineryt, differin, oxytetracycline and lymecycline), switched to a vegan diet in April and plus have tried every single over-the-counter method (like everyone). yet nothing is working! I exercise regularly (dancing and occasional running and gym) yet I still look
  8. I have gotten desperate here. First, a brief history for you all. I have always been on A.D.D medication, if that is relevant. My acne started when I hit puberty. It wasn't just normal teenage acne, it was the kind that shows up when you google "acne". At the age of 17, in complete desperation, I took Accutane for 10 months. My skin was PERFECT and my self esteem was higher than it had ever been. Age 19, my acne came back and worse than ever. I was put on my second course of Accutane. Once
  9. My first month on Accutane I was on 40 mg. Now I am on my second month on day 35 on 60 mg. I have a few questions can you guys please help me. 1. I don't have dry lips yet. They are just a little bit dry. They don't hurt is that normal. 2. I have pimple under the skin. Will they come up to the surface?
  10. Hello everyone, I've never been one to log things or to write diaries but as I know friends who have taken accutane a few years back, no one seems able to remember their experience so well. All I remember is nose bleeds, the typical dry scabs either side of their lips and a really sweaty forehead in any mild heat. (This is still happening with a friend who ended their course over two years ago. So I decided I would like to document my journey in hope it may help someone else some day!
  11. Hi everyone, I have a few queries. Firstly, I'm using this sunscreen <- please click to see! I trust Cetaphil as a brand, the brand was recommended by my derm. However, I noticed that on the suncreen it does not say "oil-free", it also has Titanium Dioxide in it which is known to break people out. Also, I have a mild allergy to dairy meaning when I eat it, I will get pimples. If I am on 20mg Accutane 3 times a week, and have been for 3-4 weeks will these things break me out? Please help!
  12. Hello! I'm a college sophomore(18F) in NY that has had acne since I was 9 years old. I react well to antibiotics, but after a year exactly, without fail, their effects always fade and my acne comes back worse each time. I have hormonal acne, both cystic and composed of white heads. Currently it is concentrated on my cheeks, but in the past it's always rotated around my face. Like before it's mainly been on my nose and before that my chin. I break out more when it's around my period, or when I

    day 1 - 25 accutane

I have had acne since age 10! It is mainly hormonal and oily spots. I basically been on anti-biotic for 6 year trying to treat it but its persistent! My acne compared to some cases ive seen is mild. I have lots of little pimps on my forehead, cheeks, and breakout regularly in some puss spots but no cysts etc. However i thought i'd grow out of acne but 8 years on it's still persistent! I always denied accutane as i was young and didn't want to deal with the side effects like dry skin and mood swi

    Day 71 - 10 weeks in

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, So, it’s been yet another week but it’s been pretty easy I guess. I was off of my accutane for 6 days. Why? Well I guess my insurance covers accutane but only under the name of “zenatane” so every time my derm writes the prescription for “accutane”, my insurance doesn't allow my pharmacy to fill it and phone calls have to be made and it takes forever. So, it was not filled until the night of my last day to pick it up when I was completely unavailable so calls to

    I'm Clearing, Here's How

Hello everyone, I've had moderate acne since I was 12/13 (I believe my acne is mostly hormonal and make up related). I'm turning 27 this month, and my struggle has only worsened through adulthood (until recently). I'm sharing my regiment with the world with hope that it will help some of you. (Also note, I just purchased the basic kit through this site, and I will update once used for 30 days). *Failed attempts include: antibiotics, Spirolactone, topical Retinol, ProActive, endless over the co
  16. I would like to share my accutane journey with you guys, and hopefully get a chance to let off some steam when things get rough. Background info: I'm 23 years old female living by myself. My acne is genetic (both my mother and grandfather was plagued by it until well into their 30's). I have had acne for 10 years, and after being prescribed several topical treatments I was finally reffered to a dermatologist. He put me through a course of antibiotics (tetracyclin), which didn't help. And so I

  18. So yeah, I decided to keep a weekly accutane diary. Normally I'm not really into sharing these things with people, but since I've read a lot of accutane diaries during my research on the drug, I thought why not return the favor So hope it's useful for someone. I'm not a native speaker, so excuse me for any mistakes I've had acne since the age of 14, and at 16 I started this 'heavy - especially for acne- birth control pill, which helped. But a few years ago I stopped taking it, because it was

    3 Month Mark

Hi readers, I apologize for not updating in awhile, but I hadn't had much change to write about until now. I just entered my 4th month on Zenatane and have noticed a few new things. First off, my skin is about 99% clear right now! Its a wonderful feeling to be able to just walk outside without any makeup on and feel confident. I have noticed some minor scaring and a few very tiny ice pick marks but I am trying not to be too concerned about them because I know isotretenoin can make scars more

    Day 39

From the album: Accutane (Zenatane) Journey

So, based on the picture I posted yesterday, you can 100% see that my acne is getting worse more along my cheeks and forehead now though there are some heads popping up along the very bottom of my chin and jawline. Pictures on the Left are of the peeling (both of my face and lips) on a daily basis even after a good mask worth of moisturizing lotion. Pictures on the Right are of my face AFTER washing it with my Neutrogena Gentle Face Wash, exfoliating with just a towel while the skin is still

    Day 98 - 14 weeks

So it's been yet another week! If you're keeping up with my journey then you'll know that I recently went back to my 80mg a day. So far, it's worked fabulously. My skin has cleared up from my acne that I had before. There is still some there but not... a whole lot. My neck has majorly improved. I have some pictures in my album that aren't uploading at this exact moment but keep an eye out! Unfortunately, the paronychia has also returned. I've been trying to take my 2, 40mg pills as fa
