  1. Alright guys! It's been a while. Trying not to make my skin my life...but it is a symbol of my health I believe and still like to spend a good bit of time figuring it out. Anyways, I went on vacation to Bermuda and my skin was great! I was eating totally super healthy food there. Everything is grass-fed, tons of fish, was able to still do my no diary, gluten, or grains, pretty much paleo diet there. I was getting tons of Vitamin D from the sun, I used sunscreen non-comedogenic. HOWEVER! It'

  3. Alright, so I just pulled myself out of a little slump. Stressed about college, my boyfriend I see once a year, a new job I'm starting, my running career being jeopardy cause of a bounced knee, small tings that add up. But it will all be okay. One step at a time. Life must go on even if I have acne and fears. It could be worse...no jinx! Alright, and I know stress causes acne, I try to be really calm all the time, but I've had acne for 6 years now, and I was clear when I was young like most
  4. Hello, I'm currently on my third period of "Tetralysal", I take the pill 2 times / day for 4 weeks, then pause for 2-3 weeks, that's how one period works for me. Anyway.. I also got a drying cream to put on my face before I go to bed. I'm using this cream with the same period as above. I've noticed a difference, but I thought it would be a much more difference by now. I wonder if it's good to dry the skin out, or if it's better to but fat/oily stuff on your skin, because I've read di
  5. Short version: I found out that if I don't eat any kind of fat (yes, even the healthful ones with high Omega 3s), I can keep my skin virtually acne free. Full story: I'm a 29-year old male who has suffered from acne for the best part of 16 years. I tried more regimens than I can probably remember, including isotretinoin (e.g. Accutane), benzoyl peroxide and other topical treatments, and a myriad of dietary variations. I even considered psychosomatic causes, which seemed to make
  6. Hey there. My name is Emma. I am 22 years old and live in London, England. Please support me in my experiment I will live on a whole foods, organic, vegan, high-carbohydrate diet for 3 months. I will track my nutritional info on CronoMeter. I will document my progress and experience so we can all learn from it. PURPOSE We can research journals, watch youtube and read the forums until we're blue (or red and lumpy) in the face. Only we, ourselves, can truly learn from experience. So here
  7. Overview Over the last few days I have compiled a lot of research surrounding the relationships between metabolic states, hormone imbalances, and acne. I am very excited to share these discoveries which are in fact very logical and simple yet often overlooked. If you have been suffering with acne and have tried everything such as adopting a remarkably “clean” diet, different facial cleansers, anti-biotics and so on, then your acne is probably attributed to a hormonal imbalance in which case re
  8. Hi everyone I'm new here and I really need your help I have quiet large pores in my nose that always get stuck and fill with sebum, and when I squeeze them I can remove the sebum inside (sorry if it's a bit disgusting). However in the tip of my nose the pores are small, so I can't remove the sebum, making THE TIP of my nose look really big. I have tried steam and many products but nothing works. It's like a layer of sebum that pushes the cartilages forward or something (both cartilages are sep
  9. I haven't been able to find a definitive amount of fat recommended to be consumed with isotretinoin so I'm asking for estimations; Currently I'm taking 60mg first thing in the morning with half a pint of semi-skimmed milk and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil; is this enough? I'm not really a big morning eater unless there's an abundance of biscuits around and I'm too forgetful to split my dosage up into the daytime. Thanks for any replies

    4 months with Diane-35

Already doing 4 months into this birth control pill... It has been a roller-coaster trip. Emotionally and physically. The good news? My ACNE has get a lot better, but it hasn´t disappear completely. I have already said it, but the thing of the breasts getting bigger is 100% true!. Also, my hirsutism has improve. And I don´t have massive, long periods as before. The bad side effects? First things first, my mood: I feel sometimes SO depressed, not knowing why. And my tummy is swollen as
  11. today was a miserable day with my skin. I've been on ziana/Biacna for a month now and don't see any improvement. And today I had a child point out my acne ...straight up said to me "your whole face is covered in red dots!" I know kids don't know better and have no filter to what they say and I don't hate the kid I hate myself. That really hurt. I cant belive after ten years of this crap I havnt got it under control. I've tried everything. Every doctor I see prescribed something else, has anot
  12. So I saw that almost everyone started to avoid junk food and sugar to stop breaking out. Ok !! It's a good thing and I'm glad that people are more conscious about nutrition and the results of our healthy are behind our food and nutrition. But I saw that the people are afraid to eat even HEALTHY FOOD. I saw topics that users don't know what to eat even more and they avoid even the vegetables and fruits. I saw comments which say that "sugar is my biggest weakness" or "I don't know what to eat
  13. Anyone here had a similar problem? Got an advice? I've had acne for years, from since I was 13 to this day (mid-twenties now). Last few years I've managed to keep it under control by experimenting with my diet. I'm a very disciplined and persistent person and you wouldn't believe what kind of strict diets I tried. And this hugely helped me identify the foods that break me out. For the last 2 years I've been on ultra low-fat diet, eating probably not more than a few grams of (any) fat/oil
