  1. Hey guys. I'm new here. Anyways, as most of you-- I basically tried EVERYTHING there is to offer in the market but nothing ever worked for me. Ever since I was 10 (which was when I first started having my periods and now I'm 19 nearly 20), I was already experiencing acne breakouts. My mom would send me to the best dermatologist every Saturday in my city 'til I was 13. Constant extraction from the doc. Constant shit on my face and it would never ever stop! So my dermatologist then suggested Ac
  2. So about a week ago, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth surgically extracted while under. A week before the surgery, I had stopped my Isotretinoin (30mg twice a day) treatment which I had been on for just over 6 months. (Which, by the way, cleared most acne but left LOTS of red scarring). My dermatologist advised me to resume the treatment (I have one month's worth of accutane left in hand) approximately 1 week after the surgery. I am scared to do so because I'm afraid of developing dry sockets, and
  3. Hey so last year in July, I was really annoyed with pimples sprouting up here and there on my face, and I was tired of using home remedies due to no avail. It was then that my sister recommended me to use a cream, and I happily applied and used it for over 5-6 months. I saw awesome results, but Little did I know that what I was using was actually a strong steroid cream. Along with that, I was also using a heavy MAC foundation and incorporated the steroid cream as my go-to moisturiser. After
  4. Sorry for my ignorant beliefs but I think if I extract a blackhead it wont scar (depressed or marks) since it's only a point on your face and I use a blackhead extractor for that. I dont even exert pressure i just push a little then it pops out. AND ALSO, can it cause an enlarge pores? I have those on my cheeks but I think they're because of my extremely oily skin. Thank you
  5. I went to my four month roaccutane check up and told him I wasn't happy at all. So another doctor at the same clinic had a look and told me those little bumps were Milia, and that I needed them extracted out. So I was pretty pissed I went through roaccutane for pretty much nothing. My back acne has cleared up a lot but still am having to use benzoyl peroxide to maintain it being clear. Anyway, so I got the milia extracted around October 2012 - I took about a week off work as there was scab
  6. Hey All, So yes, I've committed one of the worst skin crimes; I extracted (well attempted to extract) a closed comedone/blackhead type spot. It was really small, uninflamed, under the skin type closed comedone, and it really bugged me because there were a couple and it made the skin texture on my cheek look horrible. Against my better judgement, I got a sterilised needed and attempted to extract it. All it did was make my skin bleed and cause a big swelling where the comedone was. And now 24h
  7. What Is Comedone Extraction, and Should You Do It?

What Types of Lesions Is Comedone Extraction Appropriate For? Who Can Perform Comedone Extraction? The Logic Behind Comedone Extraction Does Comedone Extraction Actually Help with Acne? How Long Will the Results of Comedone Extraction Last? Risks of Comedone Extraction What to Expect During Comedone Extraction The Bottom Line Comedone extraction is a procedure for physically removing comedones (clogged pores, also known as whiteheads and blackheads) from the skin. It consists of applying pressure around the...

  9. Maybe this will be the time that I actually LEARN and stop squeezing! My face has finally stopped breaking out with these horrible huge cysts and two nights ago I thought it would be a good idea to try to extract a huge blackhead on my cheek. I typically cover the mirror with a piece of paper because one mirror in my bathroom is basically dubbed the "skin picking mirror" by my sister and I because you can get so close and see everything. We had guests staying at our house last week, so the mirro
  10. Hi! I got my first facial extraction on Friday..I have acne and after the extraction all my pimples looked red and a lot worse. Today is Monday the redness has gone down but it still looks gross and all the pimples are visible. Is that normal..will it start getting better? Thanks!
  11. Is Getting a Facial Good for Acne?

A facial is a skin care treatment performed by a trained esthetician or cosmetician in a beauty salon or spa. Most facials claim to leave the skin looking younger and more radiant, but some facials are specifically advertised to help clear the skin for people prone to acne.1 But should you bother with facials designed for people with acne-prone skin when you have acne, or will they only make things worse? The fact is that facials...
