  1. Ive heard some very good things about oil cleansing, and some very bad things. Some people seem to say that after a while,(few weeks, months) they get clogged pores/breakouts/dry skin I was wondering if it's because oil cleansing is more like exfoliating,(removing deep oils in skin/massaging dead skin), and exfoliating often or everyday will dehydrate your skin. or do oils, specifically olive oil, clog pores?

    Need Help With Exfoliation

Whenever I exfoliate with a washcloth I'm gentle as possible but still my face gets irritated it gets really oily and I see fine lines that weren't there before...I even tried with my fingers I had same results chemical exfoliates do same thing..so I decided to massage gentle cleanser morning and night and no irritation but will this keep dead skin away ? what I do is splash lukewarm water on face then massage cleanser then when it's all off I splash face with cool water
  3. good evening or day, recently thought about using green papaya powder to exfoliate my skin. am curious if anyone has tried it here. if there is a thread that discusses this please direct me to it. thanks. Found this online...
  4. Hey all, I have been looking on the forums, and the internet and I have found little information to manually get rid of dead skin cells and gunk off your skin, I know AHA can do the job, but to me it doesn't actually 'move' anything. Except for the jojoba oil trick, does any one know of any tricks to exfoliate which complies to the regimen? Thanks!

    Exfoliation Cream?

Anyone know a good cream to exfoliate the face? Does it even help with acne? I get pimple about an inch below my lower lip on each corner of my chin, no where else. Looking to purchase something at wal mart. Thanks
  6. Hey all! I recently found that I most probably have fungal folliculitis on my face. I think it came when I first tried the OCM method which did not work for me at all. I guess my pores got clogged? Anyway I started treating it with Nizoral and Head and Shoulders Classic clean, alternating every 2 days or so. I have been doing it properly since friday (before that I wasn't absorbing everything so doing it wrong for 2 days). Things seem to be improving but not as fast as I had hoped. I have JR P

    stuff i've learnt about acne.

stuff i've learnt about acne and some of my thoughts regarding the subject. -researching acne is 100% important when trying to "cure" yourself. there is different types of acne. all have specific treatments. (some skin problems are not even acne) - it important to educate yourself on post acne marks & acne scars + how to treat them. it is easy to mistake post acne/ skin damage for active acne. -sodium lauryl sulfate (aka "SLS" for short) is an ingredient in most acne soaps but shoul
  8. Skin Condition The acne marks on my cheeks have gone back on track to improvement The discoloration on my lip is also looking improved this morning My chin looking better too. It used to be quite bumpy but this morning it looks really smooth and the any bumps have condensed to 4 tiny whiteheads The most irritation and acne is at the corners of my mouth I have some painful areas on my cheeks and around my mouth. I have lots of tiny hard pimp
  9. I finished accutane in early April (in two weeks it will be 7 months after my course). Also, it's been 8 months into my water only regimen. The only thing I do is using shaving cream when I'm shaving. Recently, I bought an exfoliator (Neutrogena) because I was having some problems with dead skin and whiteheads (2). I never ever get pimples since I've finished accutane. BUT, I've bought the cleanser in the same line as the exfoliator from Neutrogena, because I still have red marks and since the c

    Baking Soda Burned My Skin!

I use to use retin-a 1% every night, for about 4 months straight I'd say. The peeling never went down, i would exfoliate daily by rubbing in tons of moisturizer, continuing to rub until the dead skin pilled up, then lightly rubbing in circular motions all over with a face cloth. This would tend to get the worst of it, although it would leave my skin raw, not so much because it was red but it would sting when I applied toner and moisturizer afterwards, even though my toner is alcohol free. But

    Irritation..exfoliation

I'm so confused about exfoliation because whenever I do I get irritation the skin on my cheeks look like a orange peel kind of texture and my pores become so big..and I exfoliate like once a week like you're suppose too so it isn't over exfoliation I'm just thinking about just not exfoliating at all and I do apply moisturizer after exfoliating I tried exfoliating with washcloth, fingers, and heck even a q-tip all leads to irritation
  12. Hello everyone, Spring break i suffered with a hormonal break out that left me with a few indented scars that are a mix between boxcars and icepicks. Anyways, Currently i have been applying tea tree oil to the scars to make that skin dry out and cause it to peel the next day. This has caused the scarred skin to dry out forcing the skin to peel. It is helping immensely to "fill in" or create new skin to replace the existing dried scar tissue once it peels off. I thought that this needed to be a

  14. So I am deep into the stages of clearing on my Spiro treatment and the biggest problem I have now are closed comedones that are barely visible under the skin but can inflame at any time and come to a head. Most are just sitting there and really is the last things keeping my skin from being smooth and clear. After reading many blogs and reviews, I decided to order Paula's choice 2% gel. I need advice as to how and where to use it in my cleansing routine. should I start one time a day, eve

    Olay Pro-X Spin Brush Thingy..

Ok. so the other day I purchased the Olay Pro-x Spin Brush. 32$ its like a clarsonic brush thingy. I used it last night and this morning and I have to say that first: I LOVE the way it feels. so soft and gentle Second: I was really worried about the exfoliation making my skin worse, especially since I had picked at a few spots before I used it.. BUT..it didnt! If anything it made them better. I also had a place on my check that was staring to hurt and get red which ment I knew I was about to h

  17. sooo I have been getting these dark spots on my face like underneath my mouth and in my chin crevasses. Any recommendations for a natural way of treating this? Also, what do you guys think about exfoliating with epsom salt? I'm trying to come up with a good exfoliator because I just can NOT seem to get rid of these blackheads all over my nose and chin. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

  19. Warning: Long as Hell I'm going to include many things I've experienced in the past with my skin (not just the current issue) so that anyone reading this can hopefully take something away from it. And so that the history of my skin is not an unknown variable in what happened to me. Today: My entire face is wrecked right now. And I don't know what to do, I'm pacing around my house, losing sleep, sobb

    Pmd

So 'The Regimen' has successfully cleared up all of my acne, however I still have dark scars and marks on my face that I'd like to get rid. I want to get a PMD (Personal Microdermabrasion) becuase I've heard many people say that it has worked wonders for them in terms of getting rid of acne scars, however I'm wondering if this will conflict with The Regimen. Has anybody ever used this before with The Regimen? If so, how did it work? At what point in your daily / nightly routine did you use
  22. I've had acne for years and years now. I tried all the usual stuff - BP, duac, lymecycline, adapalene, probably some other stuff that I can't even remember. I finally got started on roaccutane of which I'm now on my third month. I am getting less severe breakouts but I'm starting to see these little scars. I'm not sure if they are ice picks or enlarged pores and I know you shouldn't mess with scar treatments whilst on roaccutane, but I was wondering if I could do something about them once I'd co

    Need Help

  25. Diet: Your body needs to have healthy cells to reproduce and fight skin damage. However, it has to be balanced. Too much of anything, even omega 3 (too much can hurt our skin's ability to fight bacteria), can hurt us. Remember the food pyramid and too get plenty of fruits and vegetables, while not getting too much of any one thing (multivitamins hurt, you get everything you need in a healthy diet). Showers: A big hidden killer. If you take long hot showers, you are not doing your skin any fa
