  1. Hey guys...so I'm currently on day 70 of accutane, so I've finished two months of accutane and am currently one week into my third month... My dermatologist told me that I should take pictures to keep a log of how I'm doing, however, after taking some pictures today I'm so horrified to see that I actually look worse than when I started! I'm so incredibly upset...All of my old acne has left red marks which wont go, and every single new breakout I've had leaves more -- so my face, especially t
  2. Hello community! . I recently performed an at home acid peel on myself and after completing the peeling process, am now alittle concerned I may have burned myself. . The peel was administered to my entire face, including my sensitive areas (i.e. marionette lines, upper lips and jaw line) I have a medium tan complexion and the burn mark is almost like an ashy gray/blackish color and I'm ashamed! I guess i should've taken this possibility considerably since I'd decided that night to lea
  3. Hello, everyone! I'm a 20 year old female from winnipeg, MB (canada). I have been suffering from moderate acne for as long as i can remember, but recently it's become quit severe. I am here blogging due to the lack of success in my acne cure journey. I don't want to bother my family and friends anymore about my acne, because they can't relate to this problem. My self-confidence from a 1-10 is at a stand still 2. I'm ashamed to go out in public and if I do go out I need to cover up. It's gotten s
  4. For starters, this is something I've been struggling with for years, even now, when my acne is under control. it's like I think back to when it was at its worst, and emotionally it's like I'm back there, sad and hopeless all over again. I don't think people who've never suffered from acne know what it's like. It's not a superficial thing, which is something I got told again and again, especially by family. So I'm curious to know how others deal with it. It's been helping me to treat my acne and
  5. Does anyone else feel like this? I really never thought I'd be posting here, but I'm near the end of my line. I've followed some of these posts sporadically throughout the years when needed (thank you to all, seriously) but am currently - now more than ever - in real need of support and understanding. The short synopsis of my acne story? I had clear skin up until sophomore year of high school. I'm now 5 years strong with moderate acne mainly on my forehead and around my nose and chin occasion
  6. A group of friends (including the guy I like) want me to go swimming with them. I have really light skin and a few active pimples right now because I did manage to clear my pretty severe acne. Now I'm left with these great red marks left all over my face from the acne I had. I pretty much always have makeup on I won't leave my house without it. I cover it up really good to the point where it looks like my skin is clear. I am So scared to go swimming. Is there any way I can keep my foundation on?
  7. Okay, so I work as an AIN (assistant in nursing) whilst I'm studying to be a RN. One thing you'd probably expect with nurses is that they're empathetic and kind towards others, right? But I've had a few nurses say to my face, things like "what do you do about your pimples?", "have you tried ____?" "are you washing your face enough?", etc. Whenever I've been asked these things, I can't help but feel upset and insecure. My diet is better than anyone I know, I exercise daily, I take supplements and
  8. Hey, I suffered from acne from the age of 12 and I'm now 16, thanks to doxycycline and benzoyl peroxide it has faded dramatically of 2 years, although I do still get a few spots here and there they and much less painful and on a much smaller scale (considering I had to go to A&E because a spot swelled up my entire left side of my face) and I really only get 2 or 3 now Anyway, although the acne itself has faded it has left me with red skin literally all over my face apart from the outl
  9. I'll try and sum up my acne background, and trust me, I'm leaving out a whole bunch for the sake of your time (I'm a guy if that changes anything): Since I was 10, I started to develop mild acne on my forehead. I didn't do anything about it because my parents assumed it was natural and would go away in a few months. It literally has lasted me 6 years (I'm 16) and my parents continue to say the exact same thing, "it's just hormones, it will go away soon." In those 6 years, my acne has not disap

  12. I feel the need to say this to all of you in this organization. For the most part, most of you complain about having facial acne, whether it's mild moderate or severe. Did you know there are some of us.. Who have acne on our chest? And On our stomach? And on our backs? Even on our legs and shoulders and arms? Not just on our faces. Do you know how it feels, to not be able to dress how you would like in a judgement society filled with humans who judge everyone and everything? Do you kn
  13. Hi! I have pretty bad skin (today is my second day on accutane) and I have a lot of red scarring that looks awful like acne + acne. I want to tryout for cheerleading but I am scared because I never even leave my house without having makeup on. I feel like I'm just going to be judged and that is really discouraging to me even though I really want to tryout, but I can't wear makeup to tryouts and if I make it in I won't be able to wear makeup to practice either and I just feel really nervous about
