  1. again, this text is taken from a book i have and may of good use to many of you out there. I will be trying to follow the guide as closely as poss. ANTI-ACNE PLAN although acne mostly occurs in teenage years, it can also be seen in adults too. It is often due to hormonal inbalances which stimulate the sebaceous glands to increase oil output. But acne can also be due to poor dietry choices. If traces of sebum become trappen inside skin pores, tissues can attract bacteria, resulting in inflamati
  2. Hey guys, I've stumbled upon several different consumer products that can help strengthen and heal skin affected by acne. Well, common ones are the vitamin Ester-C, skin support tablets by Blackmores(meant for acne skin),Zinc and acne formulations that contain herbs such as Burdock, Sarsaparilla, Echinacea and Sassafras. These can help skin that is suffering from active acne and needs extra help to clear up. A little more effective for skin that is already recovering from acne is IG6. This pr
  3. The last few times I was sick from sinus infection or other illness, I noticed that the antibiotics also cleared my skin significantly. Even the texture went from rough/bumpy to significantly smoother. What does this tell me about a) my body chemistry/acne and b) possible diet equivalences? Over the last year or so, I've really cleaned up my diet: no gluten or dairy, little to no sugar, zero junk food, lots of water, and generally eating more salads and fresh fruits. I started a few weeks
  4. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 100% organic all-natural purifying acne mask from MiEssence. MiEssence is an organic range of skincare, bodycare, oral care, cosmetics etc etc product line that is manufactured by the MiOne Group. Anyway, thats the boring stuff. I purchased it from www.miessenceproducts.com and got it in a medium sized jar (forgot the exact size) for $22.70 AUD. Not that expensive. Its got some good ingredients including sun-dried green (montmorillonite) clay, burdock, witch
  5. Right now Im more interested in fighting my acne internally. Im at the point where topicals bother my face, my skin has become that sensitive and irritation prone. Ive been looking into herb supplements. My local natural health food store was recommending me some and I would go to a homeopath to ask whats good, bad, safe, etc. but I dont have one in my area. So far this is what ive gathered. Echinacea is supposed to be very good. It raises the immune system, also stimulates the body to produ
  6. I don't believe many people have heard about this cream (It's more like a gel). It's called Quantum Health, Scar Reducing Herbal Cream, I found it at a health store. It doesn't come in a very large bottle, but small amounts of it work very well. I have used it for a week. I stopped using it for 3 days to try AHA lotion, but that was a big mistake! I put it on at night before bed, and sometimes will put it on in the day (It says to apply it 3-5 times a day, but I don't believe that's necessary at

    Acne regiment

I am 22 and I have suffered from acne since early high school. During that period I started getting cystic acne on my back, chest, and face. I have realized that acne is caused by a multitude of things. Some being out of my control and some not... reviewing this website I have found many regiments people use to deal with their cystic acne. I have borrowed tips from many people. my regiment has been working but takes time, patience, and consistency. I personally have very oily skin. Feel

  10. Okay, now I have done some time of cleansing and detoxifying the liver I need to fully stop taking liver cleansers and I need blood builders and liver builders, but my question is which ones are specifically best? I have heard Goldenseal root, Echinacea root, Licorice root and BP-C are good for it. I wonder if anyone could share his or her expercience.
  11. Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and am hoping to get some advice on my recent Acne MISERY! I am 28 and have never suffered with my skin. 6 months ago I came off the contraceptive pill as am trying for a family, and within 1 month of stopping the pill, I had huge, sore, itchy spots (some more like boils!) on my chin. Over the last 5 months I have tried loads of things including supplements to help with hormonal balance (Evening Primrose and Echinacea) but nothing has worked completely. About 6

Echinacea: Not just for common colds

My mom showed me this from a book yesterday, and was encouraging it as she thought it was a potentially safe alternative to many things. For those interested(and sorry if something similar has ever been posted before - I wasn't sure if I had seen something about this or not), I thought it might be helpful to mention. It sounds like this would be especially good fo those who believe bacteria plays a role in their acne, but it also sounds effective for hormonal acne, and could help for any type

    My unusual log

Well here goes nothing. So the past few weeks I've been breaking out. I was seriously considering going on accutane but I'll hold off until december if this dosnt work. I was reading a post that someone had tried Herpanacine and said it was like accutane without the side effects. So I did a quick search and didnt turn up anything on this site. So I went to a web search and found a lot on it. Basically herpacine is for any kind of problem skin; roscera, acne, herpes, rash, ect. but mainly for acn
  14. Blood Type 0, B, and A members this should be useful. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search...0594364-1013456 Check out those books by Peter D'Adamo, very helpful. Tells you what to eat for your Blood Type and what to avoid. I always used to eat lots of oranges and strawberries, which reacted badly to my skin because I'm a Blood Type O. So I replaced oranges and strawberries with lemons, lime, watermelons, Spanish melons and carrots. Now I don't itch much around the mouth where I had acne.

    slightly o/t: echinacea

I'm pretty sure I have a generally crappy immune system because other than acne, I get sick all the time...not severely, but frequent sore throats, colds etc. Echinacea is supposed to be great to boost immune function, but if you take it continually, can be counterproductive because your own immune sx will just down-regulate to compensate. On the other hand, I'm not trying to get over an acute cold, I want to boost long-term function So does anyone have an idea of what a good rotation schedule m
  16. Hi, my cat got fixed 2 weeks ago and she got problems with the wound. I was using a cream on her that amazed me... it healed in one week, and, believe me, it was a huge wound... I couldn't believe it, so I decided to put it on my face. After 2 years without acne, I got a breakout, so I'm struggling again... The name is Omnimatrix. It contains only natural herbs and zinc oxide. The herbs are: centella asiatica, echinacea purpures, calendula officinalis, hamamelis virginiana, melaleuca viridifl
  17. Today I bought Sobe GReen Tea. I really liked it, if anything even more than Snapple Green Tea. I saw though, that it had additional ingredients besides Green Tea. The ones stated in the topic description. Are these other ingredients good for the skin as well? I know Ginkgo is good for memory and focus which is good for me since I am a choreographer. But how about Guarana, and echinacea?

    Dan's Regimen + Echinacea

Hi Dan and everyone, First of all, Dan I commend you on your site. It's great. With so much crap and commercialism on the internet, I am thrilled to find an acne site I trust. I'm a 31-year-old caucasian woman, and I suffer from chronic cystic acne mostly on the lower part of my face but sometimes on my temples and behind my ears, too. I started breaking out in college when I was about 18 or 19. Ever since then -- for years -- I've battled acne. This is what I've tried: Chinese herbs (nope, d
  20. So, I have had acne for about three years now and it has cycled from almost clear to moderate all the while, and I have a bigger problem with hyperpigmentation/inflammation rather than bumps (though in this post I am specifically complaining about my bumps, my other problems would be a WHOLE other rant hehehe) Anyway, I have tried a lot of popular internal remedies (zinc, omega 3, olive leaf, dietary changes, herbs like echinacea and burdock and many others, and the list goes on) but absolutely

    Gene Genie's Dianette/BP Journal

Well here's my story... All during my pubescent years I never had a single spot. Not a blemish, nada, nothing. No lies. My best friend at the time was struggling with her skin and used to always say to me "You don't realise how lucky you are". I shrugged it off. It wasn't an issue for me, I was too interested in boys and make up to think about my skin. I didn't need to, it was perfect. It wasn't until my last year in school at 18 that it hit. It started off as a few pimples around perio

    Echinacea and Echinacea cream

Didn't find any other threads o Echinacea so thought I'd start my own! Just wondering if anyone else here takes it, and whether you find it effective? I started taking it to prevent cods and flus, and it was great for that. Before, when I would return to college in the autumn, I always caught a bug from being in those stuffy lecture halls full of people coughing and sneezing! Once I started Echinacea, I managed to get through the whole winter without a cough or cold! However, I think it also he

  25. I'm just gonna post here what i'm gonna do to get rid of my moderate, almost severe acne. I'm 17 year old and I've got acne for 2-3 years I think. Especially my cheeks are affected by red marks. Leave some comments here plz or tell me about your experiences with the products i'm gonna use . In the morning: - rinse my face with a lot of warm (not hot) water apply "La Roche-Posay Effaclar foaming gel" after 10 seconds rinse off with a lot of warm water - apply "Garnier Skin Naturals PureA Da
