    Regimen, And Side Effects?

Hello acne.org community. So I have a problem. I am starting to think that the Regimen's cons actually out weigh the pros. It is currently month 3, and I have seen some results. They are not the best by far, but definitely getting there. Anyway, I am still experiencing very dry and flaky skin. I have to bring a moisturizer to school, and every period I have to say I have to go to the bathroom, and apply moisturizer. I am very self conscious about how I look, and the flakiness is not good. I have

    Dkr Help

Ok, here's a little disclaimer before I explain my issues: I LOVE THE ACNE.ORG REGIMEN. It's a total lifesaver, I'm so glad I tried it out, it REALLY WORKS, I have mostly clear skin with maybe only 1 whitehead once in awhile. Ok, so now that know I absolutely love this and would recommend to ANYONE with acne, let me explain to you some issues I'm having. #1: Tightness. My skin often feels tight, and dry. Usually accompanied by itchiness, right before I go to do my regimen. #2: Flaking &
  3. I'm in need of new moisturizer the Dans moisturizer is okay and doesn't really break me out, i think. But please can someone find me a good moisturizer, i want to try cera-ve lotion but people keep telling me its pore clogging and will break me out in like 2 or 3 weeks. But dans moisturizer doesn't moisturizer that great and i still flake LIKE CRAZY cause my flakes should be gone i think i'm coming on to week 6 of regime and i have couple active pimples but overall it's helping a lot but the dry

    Weaning Off Regimen

First I want to start off saying that the Regimen has worked wonders for me. It cleared up about 97% of my acne in the 1.5 years I was on it. However, I decided that I didn't want to be on it my whole life. I also started to see my face age faster than normal. Although I moisturized very well and always used jojoba oil, I could see my face changing. That is when I decided I would try stopping the regimen. This may not work for everyone, but for those who are afraid of stopping or weaning off the

    No Relief From Flakes

Hi, I've been on the regimen for over 3 months now, and I'm still struggling with flaking. They're always there when I get up in the morning, and it takes a lot of spot picking to make sure none surface throughout the day. I know what you're going to say: use aha! I use Aha every night as my nightly moisturizer, and still there is no difference. I lather jojoba oil over my face after I cleanse in the morning, and before applying Bp. Is there some mistake I'm making that permits these flakes to e
  6. Hell y'all! I've read other forums and general advice from The Regimen's website, tips and tricks, etc., but I want to know if anyone out there is able to relate to my specific case in hopes of some beneficial advice. My skin in mainly dry/flakey along my jawline and under my chin, but as of this morning the dryness/flakey skin has progressed to my cheeks and slightly on my forehead. I'm 18 years old, and I have mild-moderate acne. I am on DAY 8 of the Regimen. - Morning: One pump of cl
  7. I bet I am one of many people who will say that they have tried almost everything to clear their acne including supplements, prescriptions, products and treatments. So, I started The Regimen on the evening of 10-11-14. I am following the instructions exactly as stated. I can honestly say that the cystic and standard acne has dramatically decreased and any new acne seems come and go much quicker than before. However, I am experiencing some discomfort other than being dry and mildly peelin

    Accutane Log

My Accutane Log! Hello and welcome to my Accutane log! I am 5'9" and weigh 135 lbs and am female. I have had moderate acne since I was 13. My acne is not exactly cystic, but is rash-like--spreading over certain parts of my face and stubbornly staying for long periods of time. I would also say that I had plenty of closed comedones, which are incredibly frustrating because they give your skin a rough, bumpy look that is especially embarrassing in the sunlight. Not too mention the ugly, swollen pr

    Dryness and Flakiness

I'm in my fourth week of the regimen and my face is really dry and flaky. Can I cut back on the bp to once per day until the flakiness gets better or I should keep on using it twice a day?
  10. I am a 15 y/o male. About a year ago, my face started becoming a bit tight after my showers. I put a light Cetaphil moisturizer on, and it was fine for the rest of the day. Today, a year later, I cannot even splash my face with water without it feeling like a desert. The tightness in my face is nothing short of unbearable. This tightness is lessened if I moisturize, but it does not fully go away until hours later. Johns Hopkins Derm Dept could not diagnose a few months ago, but nothing has gotte
  11. Hi fellow acne sufferers, I started the regimen almost 4 weeks ago and I am experiencing extreme extreme, redness, tight skin, swelling, cracking and skin constantly peeling off from dryness. I follow the regimen very strictly (cleanse gently, bp, then 2 full pumps of moisturizer). The first week, I started with a small about of bp, then slowy ramped up to 1 full pump day and night. I have probably been doing the one full pump day and night for 4 days and my skin is freaking out. My breakouts

    Dryness Help

Hey guys new to this forum. I am a 31-year old male who has continued to struggle with some mild acne since puberty on and off. I had it rough as a teen, then it went dormant for the most part in college then creeped back up on me now in my 30's. woohoo. It's relatively mild all things considered and tends to center around my temples/hairline. So far I've seen some improvement but still getting a little break out in those reigons. My question is, I am 3 1/2 weeks into the regime and I'm gett
  13. Hi everyone! I am currently on my 5th week of the Acne.org Regimen. I use water to cleanse my face, then use a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide and moisturize with 2-3 pumps of Cerave Moisturizing Lotion+Jojoba Oil. My face is starting to really clear up now, but I was outside yesterday and got sunburned. I applied the Regimen as usual last night and this morning but was wondering if this is ok since I am sunburned, or if I should take a day or two off from BP. Thanks for your help!
  14. So I've had moderate acne for a little over a year now and finally decided to go a dermatologist after I tried LOTS of different over the counter products. My doctor prescribed me Perrigo Clindamycin Phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel,1.2%/5%. It seems to be paying off a little after two months of use. I started off with applying it once every night, then worked my way up to at morning and night. About 75% of my acne is clear besides my main problem area, my mouth/chin area. My problem is that m
  15. Hi, I have been on the regimen for almost three months. My skin is slowly improving, but it's definitely not clear yet. While I am aware that my skin will continue to be dry until it adjusts, it's a bit frustrating. I use Jojoba oil in my moisturizer at night, but not in the mornings. While it's helped the dryness, it's still hard to deal with and prevents me from wearing makeup. Would the next step be to add in the AHA+? I own a bottle of it but have not used it yet because I am very busy and
  16. Hey! (: So I'm very proud of my progress on the Regimen thus far. My skin is looking a lot better! My red spots are fading and I'm mostly clear (still having minor breakouts every now and then). The only problem is that my skin is still extremely dry. I feel like nothing is helping! I've tried exfoliating with jojoba, I'm using AHA, I have no idea what to do. I've even ended up just scraping at my skin a few times, which is horrible! I don't know how to solve this problem without causing irr
  17. i'm a 15 y/o girl and i've been on accutane now for two months. my first dose was 40mg a day, but last month my derm upped it to 60mg. i've heard this is a pretty high dose (i weigh 125 pounds). my symptoms have been really bad. i'm fair and i regularly struggle from facial redness but the accutane has made it even worse. every day when i don't wear makeup i get asked if i was outside and if i'm sunburnt. my dryness has been really bad too, which makes the makeup i apply to combat my redness loo

    Dryness After 4 Months

So I've been using the Regimen for over 5 months now. I'm very good at following the instructions and have seen great results. I breakout here and there but it goes away within a few days, and I know it's mostly hormonal. I used to have more on the severe side of acne, but I'm in my early twenties (did Acctuane for awhile) so I'd say it's mild now. But OH MY GOODNESS the flaking will just not let up. I use AHA twice a week and it helps for about a day. Soon enough, the dryness and flakiness is b

    Please Help

So im new to acne.org. long time reader and finally decided to sign up. I'm having real troubles with my face. recently my face has became really dry and flaky. i remedied this by using the oil cleansing method which has seem to helped. my face now is somewhat red and scaly looking and i think not healthy. i have attached some pics and i was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest something. also, i have used topicals in the past including retina, duac, clinac, epiduo, and currently differe
  20. I am at a crossroads here after being seven weeks into the DKR. My skin has very much cleared up with nothing but a few hyper pigmentation spots. My face has never been this consistently clear(ish) . Assuming you still use the two pumps of benzoyl peroxide, did your skin ever truly become accustomed to that amount of BP? It just seems like a hell of a lot for my skin to handle and I wake up every day to a face covered in flakes despite applying two pumps of cerave, 6 drops of jojoba oil, and the
  21. hey I've been using the regime for a year now. Some of my acne has cleared up but not all of it. My skin is oily in some areas and unbearably flaky and dry in some which all started after i used the regimen. MY skin still stings from using BP. I use two pumps because I've been using the regimen for so long but i don't think its still suppose to burn. I follow everything exactly also i use AHA. should i decrease the amount of bp that I'm using? for reference I'm 16 years old with moderate acne t

    Help! Flakiness

Hi, I've been using the Acne.org Regimen for 3 weeks now and it works GREAT! Thank you so much!! My forehead is almost completely clear, my cheeks and my chin are also 10 times better now. However, I have some problems: I still tend to get pimples (that hurt) here and there, they clear out pretty fast but as soon they clear, a new one is forming. (I'm super gentle while using the products and try not to touch my face during the day.) My eyelids are very dry and a bit flaky even though I'm caref
  23. From the album: Week Five

WEEK FIVE I had a huge comedone on my nose that I popped, what's left is a huge scar. However, NO NEW BREAKOUTS! Recently, what looks like huge cystic acne bumps seem to form on my chin, however, they shrink and completely disappear the next day. I can notice that hyper pigmentation from old acne scars is slowing fading away! All breakouts are completely dried out - no new whiteheads. You can still see on my neck where the Benzol-Peroxide has darkened my fair skin, however I feel that over
  24. I was recently prescibed Bezaclin Gel about a week ago & I was told to use a moisturizer. The moisterizer I use contains salicylic acid, & I was wondering if this is too much chemicals to be putting on my face. My face is very dry still. Also when I apply the lotion my face burns a little bit. Do I need to change the moisturizer?
  25. Okay, so I've noticed a pattern when I go without shaving for a few days while using the regimen... My skin flakes and dries a lot more! Even if I apply a ton of moisturizer and jojoba oil. My beard just irritates the crap out of me, so now I try to shave as much as possible. I want to know, does this occur with you also? Or is it just a random occurrence? Thanks!
