  1. Hello fellow forum people, I would like to start off by summing up my life as of late. I grew up with really oily skin that gave me very bad cystic acne when I was younger, which was taken care of very poorly, up until high school when I tried Proactiv which solved all my problems. Legit I had not one pimple to complain about. Then in recent years (I'm 21 now) I stopped using Proactiv and switched over to multiple other OTC face wash products that hve done little justice on my problematic skin
  2. From the album: Life After Acne

Today I'm sharing my tried-and-true methods for cleansing and moisturizing dry sensitive skin and how I go from the dull itchy and tired-looking face I wake up with to borderline presentable without makeup-- All thanks to the best natural ingredients and a cutting-edge beauty routine, including the Jenu Plus Ultrasonic Infuser, YoDerm, & derma|e.
  3. So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness
  4. Hi, I have a dilemma with my skin that I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with. I am Caribbean with darker brown skin with a red undertone that gets slightly lighter in the winter. I have always had combination skin that is oily in my t-zone areas and normal to dry on my cheeks. I am also acne prone on my cheeks and sometimes break out with tiny bumps on my forehead. This is why I have discoloration on my cheeks and on some of my forehead, but mostly my cheeks. At the
  5. Hello! I've been struggling with acne for years now. Recently I have extremely dry patches where the acne is extremely bad and is very painful and rashy. It will go away for a couple days and then come back with becoming extremely itchy to the point where I make the skin bleed. I am desperate to know what's happening. I have been curious as to if I may have sebohheric dermatitis but don't know for sure. Please help! Thanks.
  6. Hi all. I've been suffering from acne for 7 years and I'm looking for a foundation that hopefully won't make my breakouts worse. I'm sure that my acne is hormonal unfortunately so no amount of topical treatment will help it, it has to be helped through life style (and hopefully my new birth control? if I'm going to be on it I might as well make it one that has shown results for acne, right?) and diet from my understanding. I've found that certain foundations will irritate and contribute to e
  7. I'm writing this in hopes that it helps someone. My son is 17 and has been taking Accutane for 2-months. He takes 70mg per day. 30mg in the morning and 40mg at night. The skin dryness started almost immediately and we have tried everything. We went to Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreens to buy every kind of lotion, chap stick and lip balm they carry. His face was very dry around his mouth and chin area. Both corners of his mouth cracked open and was bleeding. He had a large break in his lower li
  8. Hello, i am new and need some advice/guidance. I am currently 23 female with cystic acne. I have had acne since I was 10-11 started puberty at 9. It wasn't too bad looking back on it it was normal zits that went away. 2 years around I started getting hard lumps on my face that would come to a head. I think I was over drying my skin with over the counter products when I already have dry skin to begin with. Now I am stuck.. I have tried so many options from over the counter to holistic and fitness
  9. Hi, first of all let me say I want you to post on the forum, I want you to be engaged in this topic especially if you have had the same condition I experienced. I have been accutane free for two years already. I had ONLY taken 20 milligrams of accutane per day for 8 days when I was on accutane two years ago. I went to my derm after the 8 days becuase of the dry skin I had developed, so she took me out of accutane. However, ever since then, the dry skin remained, even after all the moistu
  10. Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but this is my first post so... Anyway, I have been using the regimen for almost 2 months now (I started on March 13th). I have been seeing some improvements in my skin and I am very happy about that. On May 6th, I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out (I'm not sure this might help, but I thought I'd throw that out there). Recovery has been pretty smooth. One side of face did get swollen a little bit but it's fine. When I was slee
  11. Before starting The Regimen I had really oily skin, but as expected now my skin is dry as the desert due to the BP treatment. I was wondering for all those who have managed to decrease/completely discontinue The Regimen, is your skin more on the drier side rather than oily?
  12. I have been on the proactiv+ system for 2 weeks now and i am slowly seeing results which is making me happy, but whats not making me happy is my skin is becoming dry and sometimes flaky where my breakouts are. Its especially annoying whenever i try to apply makeup and all it does it flake and cause my makeup to cling to all the dry spots, i dont know what to do since ive always had oily skin, never dry. I am using the proactiv oil-free moisturizer day and night but im just not sure if thats enou
  13. So I don't think I have a major problem with acne. I have some acne scars but they don't bother me. What bothers me are these patch of bumps on my forehead which never seems to go away with any topical medication I use. My acne got better but the rash looks worse and has spread since winter started. It's very dry and the bumps are raised SO makeup cannot cover it. A few months ago the patch bumps were there but they were flatter and less visible. I don't understand why it's not going away but it
  14. Hello everyone, I usually dont do this type of thing but I really need some help and advice. Im an 18 year old male whos a senior in highschool. I'm committed to play college football at a school in Nebraska and I just want to get my skin 100% normal again and get rid of all my acne probelms before I arrive on campus. I have had pretty bad acne breakouts off and on for the past year and a half and has led to alot of post marks and scars that have not gone away. Ive noticed that I have pretty la
  15. Hello, I have been suffering with acne ever since my early teen years and I am now 18. I am male and my hair is not in my face. I wash my face three times a day and the 3rd time is when i take my shower before bed. My skin still suffers from acne but my main reason for posting is because my lips get so very dry whenever I wash my face as often as I do. I have tried various chapsticks that the web considers to be the most moisturizing and they all just make it worse. I do not lick my li
  16. Hi All, I'm writing today because I'm SUPER frustrated with my skin right now. I've just hit 9 weeks using epiduo gel this past Friday; I experienced an initial breakout during the first 3-4 weeks but I knew this was normal. It cleared around week 5, but reappeared during week 6. I was super discouraged. I finally cleared during week 7, but have recently began breaking out again - HORRIBLY. I currently am using epiduo at night (pea sized amount) about 30 mins after I wash my face with Cetaphil
  17. So as you may have seen from earlier posts, I attempted the caveman regimen after coming off of benzoyl peroxide as a way of detoxing the damage that the chemical caused to my skin. My skin was very very very oily as a result of using BP, so I thought I'd give the caveman regimen a try as I'd heard of it helping oily skin. So that was nearly 3 months ago. About 2 months in, I discovered the oiliness had subsided but now completely. Although my skin had almost completely cleared of acne itself,
  18. So after a disastrous recent run-in with my now-sworn-enemy, Biotin, months of skin-clearing progress went down the drain in a matter of 3 days. My entire face, neck, and chest were covered with oily, plugged pores, comedones, black heads, cysts...you name it. I was back to square one. After getting back on track immediately with a a full metal jacket megadose of Magnesium, Vitamin D3, Lysine, and 2 nightly sulfur masks, just about all of the active acne was gone in 2 days. However, I was lef
  19. I have been taking Absorica for 44 days now (30 days- 40mg, 14 days- 50mg) & I have not seen any effects on my skin. It is somewhat dry, but my skin is always dry during the winter. I would say my face is moderate-severe, but more severe, & I also have acne on my neck, chest & back. Up to a year and a half ago, my acne was very mild, but since a year and a half ago, it has quickly become worse & worse. I am 15 now. My acne has continued it's worsening since I have started accutan

  21. Hi, after reading many posts of different types and severity of acne i wanted to post my own acne story. I'm 19 and began experiencing acne at the age of 13. My acne consisted mainly of whiteheads and blackheads (nothing too serious). It was predominantly situated across my forhead and nose. After going to the doctor and being prescribed several topical treatments including; isotrexin gel, my acne persisted and began to intensify (age 16/17). My forhead literally expolded. Whenever I felt a spot
  22. Hello! Today is my first time on acne.org forum. I am new. And I hope you can help me. My story goes: I don't get acnes when I was in my puberty. My skin was practically cleared with occasional 1 to 3 zits during the time of the month. I started getting sever acnes when I reached the age of 20. They breaks out on my jawline and chin area. Started with only a small clusters. And I had some basic antibiotics to curb it. When I was 21, it was my first time had makeup on for a prom. And
  23. Hi I am in search for the perfect moisturizer as I have dry skin and seem to be unable to find a moisturizer that fits me. Basically I am looking for a moisturizer that meets these requirements. 1. All natural ingredients or as close to as possible. 2. Does not leave your face shiny or greasy. 3. Calms your skin and reduces redness. 4. Long lasting throughout the day. So far I have only tried 2 moisturizers which is cetaphil and pure organic jojoba oil, I dont like cetaphil as it is
  24. So around two weeks ago I got this big, painful, awful, under the skin zit from hell right smack between my eyebrows. Lovely! I've been very good and I haven't picked, and instead I've been putting my arsenal of acne killing products to try and dry it out. The good news: it's gone down in size significantly. The bad news: the skin on top of and surrounding it is very dry, tight, a little wrinkly looking, and a beautiful red shade of ripe tomato. Help me please?? I'm going on vacation with my boy
  25. Hello. This is my first post to the forums. I'm a 30 year old male and I've had a problem with my nose for twelve years now. The pores on my nose are enlarged due to oiliness and the extraction of blackheads during that time. However, for over a year now I've experienced another problem on top of that. A layer of dead skin forms on top of my oily nose which further clogs the pores and enlarges them even more. Whenever I exfoliate the dead skin, my nose becomes a massive oil slick and less than t
