  1. ive been like this for more than a week now, i literally moisturize my skin every single fckin hour and it just doesnt do anything AAAAAAAAAAAAAA HELP ME
  2. Hi, I am 15 years old and suffer from acne. I have started my skincare routine which is made up of African black soap, a pore unclogging face scrub that contains sacrylic acid, a toner, and a moisturizer which is just cocoa butter. after these products, i apply benzoyl peroxide and go to sleep. I am on day 3 of this routine and am noticing my skin is very very dry throughout the day. I lather lotion and it dries up 20 minutes later. I'm experiencing a lot of skin flaking, occasional burning, and
  3. Has anyone used the Aveeno daily moisturiser on their faces? If so what are your thoughts? Ive just started new acne treatment from my dermatologist that sheds/flakes my skin, so I need a good moisturiser (that isn't oily and won't cause me to break out). Im trying to avoid moisturisers with mineral oil in - Aveeno does not list it as an ingredient. Thanks,
  4. Hello everyone! I'm new here but really hoping someone has had similar experiences or has an idea of something that may help me. I've had acne since I was 12 or 13, so at least 7 years. I've tried salicylic acid, Rodan + Fields (the Unblemish line and the Soothe line), some Korean treatment for acne + sensitive skin (which actually sometimes seemed to help), essential oils/tea tree oil (used to help more than it does now), various face masks, acne creams, antibiotics, etc. and now using Young
  5. I finally feel I am in a place comfortable with my skin, take what you wish and what’s helpful for you. to clarify, ( I may get one pimple a month?) I’ll cut straight to what helped me, I have very dry skin and then sometimes it’s very oily. St Ives Blemish control (wash face once a day at night) do NOT put a lot on your face. If your face feels dry afterwards, you have put on way to much. my moisturizer is Aloe Vera, (this is when I really experienced a huge difference in my skin. My gue
  6. I've been using TactuPump/Epiduo for the past three weeks, and it's been hell. For the first couple days, nothing really happened. My skin got a little red as expected, with some slight peeling on the corners of my nose. But then all hell broke loose when I decided to use some drugstore makeup (Revlon, to be exact) to cover up the redness. I might have gotten too drug happy as well. I foolishly thought that applying MORE medication would speed up the process (I've now realized that the inst
  7. My acne is healed. I healed my skin with a combination of: Diet - I do not eat gluten, I avoid dairy products, lots of fruits and vegetables. I still enjoy my food and eat out on occasion. A few months of the caveman regimen (which allowed me to discover that my skin is extremely DRY and SENSITIVE not oily.) Stopping my skin picking habit (took a long time but I no longer touch my face or pick my skin.) The first and most important rule of my current acne routine is that it
  8. Hey everyone, so I've been using the acne.org for about 4 months now and so far I've been through all the flakiness all of the dryness and everything and finally all of that stopped. About 2 weeks ago all of my acne stopped and I was left with just scars which I was okay with because I'd rather just have scars and deal with those than have a bunch of new acne popping up. On acne.org my acne went away 2 weeks ago but then now all of it's coming back and I kind of feel like I'm right where I s
  9. Hey guys, So I'm thinking of finally trying jojoba oil for my dry skin. It's gotten so dry that it's almost unbearable to put the benzoyl peroxide on, and the skin flakes are spreading and they're huge and it just looks so bad. My skin is scaly even if I wet it now. I've tried countless moisturizers, even Dan's, and nothing stops the flakes except Cetaphil's moisturizer, which broke me out after one use. I have extremely intolerant skin and get clogged pores from pretty much every drugstore mo
  10. my dermatologist told me to stop using moisturizer, as he believes it contributes to my acne. he also gave me an oral antibiotic for my acne and two topicals (one for AM one for PM). my skin has become so dry and though i've quit using the topicals for about two or three days now, my face still feels like sandpaper. should i use a moisturizer, like jojoba oil, or should i listen to my dermatologist?
  11. Hello all, This is a recent problem I've been facing with my skin and hopefully I can get some help :,) So I started using a face wash that my friend let me use because she didnt want it anymore, but it has exfoliating beads in it and since I dont have tons of money I kept using it because I thought i could get away with it until i can convince my parents to buy me a new one. Long story short, it's making me suffer now because the over exfoliating (i also exfoliate once a week and my face ma
  12. Hi all! So I've been on roaccutane for 3 months now, I'm on 30mg. I've had mild to moderate acne for 6 years now & tried roaccutane as basically a last chance saloon. Not seen huge results so far, but my skin is noticeably drier; yes this is a good thing & the purpose but putting make up on is a nightmare!! I use liquid concealer & a power foundation obviously to hide the spots & scarring. Under my make up I've been using Cetaphil moisturiser but the dryness remains, and half
  13. My skin is often very dry and red so whenever I take a shower or use any type of cleanser for acne it makes it worse. And when I use a moisturizer to try to help with this my skin gets dull and coarse. Can anyone help with this?
  14. Here's the background info: Started regimen a long, long time ago. About four years ago. After 5ish months on it I was baby face clear and stayed that way for about half a year. Mind you, during this time I could eat ANYTHING and not be affected. It was a good time. Flash Forward to now, my skin isn't that great. It's typically a week long breakout (1-2 zits a day, for a week) follow by a week of healing/red spots, followed up by two-three days of clear, nice looking skin. Only to break
  15. Hello fellow forum people, I would like to start off by summing up my life as of late. I grew up with really oily skin that gave me very bad cystic acne when I was younger, which was taken care of very poorly, up until high school when I tried Proactiv which solved all my problems. Legit I had not one pimple to complain about. Then in recent years (I'm 21 now) I stopped using Proactiv and switched over to multiple other OTC face wash products that hve done little justice on my problematic skin
  16. Hi, I have a dilemma with my skin that I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with. I am Caribbean with darker brown skin with a red undertone that gets slightly lighter in the winter. I have always had combination skin that is oily in my t-zone areas and normal to dry on my cheeks. I am also acne prone on my cheeks and sometimes break out with tiny bumps on my forehead. This is why I have discoloration on my cheeks and on some of my forehead, but mostly my cheeks. At the
  17. Hello! I've been struggling with acne for years now. Recently I have extremely dry patches where the acne is extremely bad and is very painful and rashy. It will go away for a couple days and then come back with becoming extremely itchy to the point where I make the skin bleed. I am desperate to know what's happening. I have been curious as to if I may have sebohheric dermatitis but don't know for sure. Please help! Thanks.
  18. Hi all. I've been suffering from acne for 7 years and I'm looking for a foundation that hopefully won't make my breakouts worse. I'm sure that my acne is hormonal unfortunately so no amount of topical treatment will help it, it has to be helped through life style (and hopefully my new birth control? if I'm going to be on it I might as well make it one that has shown results for acne, right?) and diet from my understanding. I've found that certain foundations will irritate and contribute to e
  19. I'm writing this in hopes that it helps someone. My son is 17 and has been taking Accutane for 2-months. He takes 70mg per day. 30mg in the morning and 40mg at night. The skin dryness started almost immediately and we have tried everything. We went to Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreens to buy every kind of lotion, chap stick and lip balm they carry. His face was very dry around his mouth and chin area. Both corners of his mouth cracked open and was bleeding. He had a large break in his lower li
  20. Hello, i am new and need some advice/guidance. I am currently 23 female with cystic acne. I have had acne since I was 10-11 started puberty at 9. It wasn't too bad looking back on it it was normal zits that went away. 2 years around I started getting hard lumps on my face that would come to a head. I think I was over drying my skin with over the counter products when I already have dry skin to begin with. Now I am stuck.. I have tried so many options from over the counter to holistic and fitness
  21. Hi, first of all let me say I want you to post on the forum, I want you to be engaged in this topic especially if you have had the same condition I experienced. I have been accutane free for two years already. I had ONLY taken 20 milligrams of accutane per day for 8 days when I was on accutane two years ago. I went to my derm after the 8 days becuase of the dry skin I had developed, so she took me out of accutane. However, ever since then, the dry skin remained, even after all the moistu
  22. Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but this is my first post so... Anyway, I have been using the regimen for almost 2 months now (I started on March 13th). I have been seeing some improvements in my skin and I am very happy about that. On May 6th, I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out (I'm not sure this might help, but I thought I'd throw that out there). Recovery has been pretty smooth. One side of face did get swollen a little bit but it's fine. When I was slee
  23. Before starting The Regimen I had really oily skin, but as expected now my skin is dry as the desert due to the BP treatment. I was wondering for all those who have managed to decrease/completely discontinue The Regimen, is your skin more on the drier side rather than oily?
  24. I have been on the proactiv+ system for 2 weeks now and i am slowly seeing results which is making me happy, but whats not making me happy is my skin is becoming dry and sometimes flaky where my breakouts are. Its especially annoying whenever i try to apply makeup and all it does it flake and cause my makeup to cling to all the dry spots, i dont know what to do since ive always had oily skin, never dry. I am using the proactiv oil-free moisturizer day and night but im just not sure if thats enou
  25. So I don't think I have a major problem with acne. I have some acne scars but they don't bother me. What bothers me are these patch of bumps on my forehead which never seems to go away with any topical medication I use. My acne got better but the rash looks worse and has spread since winter started. It's very dry and the bumps are raised SO makeup cannot cover it. A few months ago the patch bumps were there but they were flatter and less visible. I don't understand why it's not going away but it
