  1. Hi Acne.org community! I am a long-time user of The Regimen and my skin is virtually always clear. However, lately I have occasionally pared back by routine out of laziness. During the past week I have experienced the most horrific dry and flaky skin around my mouth. It's red, chapped, and can be painful if irritated. Dan's moisturizer works well, but even at its most effective point it can hurt to fully smile. But this is after a 3-4 vacation-induced hiatus. Is this caused by not havin
  2. I'm 27 and after two rounds of Accutane my cystic acne is finally gone (yay!) but I've been left with terribly dry skin, and am starting to notice fine lines cropping up on my forehead and around my mouth. I'm still left with some acne that is kept at bay with regular use of Clearasil gel and/or Persagel (salycilic acid or benzoyl peroxide) and am wondering if anyone can recommend an acne-fighting moisturizer that also has strong moisturizing power--I would love to stop layering products on my f
  3. So I used differing .3% for a while, it eventually worked pretty well, but i still had redness and some red marks. i took a break from it, didn't wash my face that much. Acne didn't come back, but lots of clogged pores, premature aging and roughness came. If you stop using retinoids cold turkey, does it cause clogged pores and aging? or was that from not washing my face? I started washing my face with dove soap, and used differing twice over the last week, and my skins improving, can

    Sudden Rash Like Rough Skin

3 days ago all of a sudden I noticed rash like rough skin just by my mouth on the right side and now it's extending upwards towards my cheek though its still mostly around my mouth. Initially, I thought it was a reaction to something I had eaten so I tried treating it with an antihistamine but it didn't really help. Then I thought it may be dry skin and I tried a hydrating mask but it didn't help either. Now I really don't know what it is because they seem like really tiny bumps that can only be
  5. I have finally decided to give accutane a try. It was offered to me when I was a teen and my family wouldn't let me take it. Too many really scary side effects. Now, at 36, know that my two kiddos are all I will be having, I have decided to go for it. In my mid 20's my acne really cleared up and I was able to manage it with OTC's and makeup. In January my mother died. It was a very unexpected and stressful event. I think I experienced a type of stress my body has never experienced before.
  6. I have been taking Absorica for 44 days now (30 days- 40mg, 14 days- 50mg) & I have not seen any effects on my skin. It is somewhat dry, but my skin is always dry during the winter. I would say my face is moderate-severe, but more severe, & I also have acne on my neck, chest & back. Up to a year and a half ago, my acne was very mild, but since a year and a half ago, it has quickly become worse & worse. I am 15 now. My acne has continued it's worsening since I have started accutan
  7. Hi! The Regimen destroyed my skin. I have never had any troubles with too dry skin, so I have always been able to use foundation and get a good coverage. Recently, after I was on The Regimen (and got a major allergic reaction), my skin is superdry. I use moisture every night and every day, but even though my skin is oily and moist, it's still dry. When I apply foundation it looks terrible. I used to be able to use foundation and it looked naturally, now people have been coming up to

    Dried Out Zit Too Much?

So around two weeks ago I got this big, painful, awful, under the skin zit from hell right smack between my eyebrows. Lovely! I've been very good and I haven't picked, and instead I've been putting my arsenal of acne killing products to try and dry it out. The good news: it's gone down in size significantly. The bad news: the skin on top of and surrounding it is very dry, tight, a little wrinkly looking, and a beautiful red shade of ripe tomato. Help me please?? I'm going on vacation with my boy

    First Time On Accutane Sos

Hello! Today is my first time on acne.org forum. I am new. And I hope you can help me. My story goes: I don't get acnes when I was in my puberty. My skin was practically cleared with occasional 1 to 3 zits during the time of the month. I started getting sever acnes when I reached the age of 20. They breaks out on my jawline and chin area. Started with only a small clusters. And I had some basic antibiotics to curb it. When I was 21, it was my first time had makeup on for a prom. And
  10. Hi, I have a dilemma with my skin that I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with. I am Caribbean with darker brown skin with a red undertone that gets slightly lighter in the winter. I have always had combination skin that is oily in my t-zone areas and normal to dry on my cheeks. I am also acne prone on my cheeks and sometimes break out with tiny bumps on my forehead. This is why I have discoloration on my cheeks and on some of my forehead, but mostly my cheeks. At the

    Rash?

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but this is my first post so... Anyway, I have been using the regimen for almost 2 months now (I started on March 13th). I have been seeing some improvements in my skin and I am very happy about that. On May 6th, I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out (I'm not sure this might help, but I thought I'd throw that out there). Recovery has been pretty smooth. One side of face did get swollen a little bit but it's fine. When I was slee

  13. Hey all, I am new to these boards and just wanted to get some feedback on my current situation. So, here it goes: Over the summer, my face really cleared up and looked normal. During this time, I used dove unscented sensitive skin beauty bar to wash my face mostly, and used an antibacterial face wash pretty much every other night instead of using the dove bar 2x that day. It seemed to be fine for me. However, since the end of summer, I have been dealing with a lot of these tiny white bumps
  14. Before starting The Regimen I had really oily skin, but as expected now my skin is dry as the desert due to the BP treatment. I was wondering for all those who have managed to decrease/completely discontinue The Regimen, is your skin more on the drier side rather than oily?

    Dry Climate And Acne.org Products

I live in a very dry desert climate and am wondering if anyone else on the regimen is dealing with dry skin and a dry climate? I am currently only using acne.org products and cannot wait more than 5 minutes between applying products due to the dryness and I am always flaky and wrinkles are showing more. I do run humidifiers, but it is so dry here I wonder if jojoba oil is enough with no humidity or if there is another non-pore clogging moisturizer that works better in dry air. Before starting

  17. I have been on regimen for 7 mo. and still get extremely dry skin. I use the equate brand I think of cetaphil Cream and put few drops of jojoba everytime I do it. Am I using the wrong moisturizer. I heard Dans sucks so im gonna steer clear of that.
  18. My cousin showed me this regimen for acne that she tried herself and she also has moderate acne like mine. Her skin is the clearest I have ever seen on a human being. I paid 145 dollars and after using the sulfur face wash, scar lightening toner, benzoyl peroxide dual treatment gel and oil free moisturizer, my skin has gone from an oil slick to DRY. My skin peels off in CHUNKS. The past week I've only used the wash and toner and using baby lotion for the dryness and it's still flaking off.

    Lips Suffer From Cleaning Face

Hello, I have been suffering with acne ever since my early teen years and I am now 18. I am male and my hair is not in my face. I wash my face three times a day and the 3rd time is when i take my shower before bed. My skin still suffers from acne but my main reason for posting is because my lips get so very dry whenever I wash my face as often as I do. I have tried various chapsticks that the web considers to be the most moisturizing and they all just make it worse. I do not lick my li

    A Solution?

I've had flaky skin from BP for 8 months and I can't take it anymore, so I am changing up the regimen to meet my needs, and I want everyone's advice and input. I'm willing to do ANYTHING to stop my skin from flaking. (btw I suffer from acne, so using too little bp I will break out) WHAT I DO NOW: Mornin': Cleanser, 1 pump BP, 2 pumps moisturizer + 5 drops of jojoba Night: Same thing WHAT I USE: CeraVe foaming facial cleanser, acne.org bp, cerave moisturizing lotion, acne.org jojoba oil W
  21. Hello! I've been struggling with acne for years now. Recently I have extremely dry patches where the acne is extremely bad and is very painful and rashy. It will go away for a couple days and then come back with becoming extremely itchy to the point where I make the skin bleed. I am desperate to know what's happening. I have been curious as to if I may have sebohheric dermatitis but don't know for sure. Please help! Thanks.
  22. Hello. This is my first post to the forums. I'm a 30 year old male and I've had a problem with my nose for twelve years now. The pores on my nose are enlarged due to oiliness and the extraction of blackheads during that time. However, for over a year now I've experienced another problem on top of that. A layer of dead skin forms on top of my oily nose which further clogs the pores and enlarges them even more. Whenever I exfoliate the dead skin, my nose becomes a massive oil slick and less than t
  23. Hi I am in search for the perfect moisturizer as I have dry skin and seem to be unable to find a moisturizer that fits me. Basically I am looking for a moisturizer that meets these requirements. 1. All natural ingredients or as close to as possible. 2. Does not leave your face shiny or greasy. 3. Calms your skin and reduces redness. 4. Long lasting throughout the day. So far I have only tried 2 moisturizers which is cetaphil and pure organic jojoba oil, I dont like cetaphil as it is
  24. Has anyone used the Aveeno daily moisturiser on their faces? If so what are your thoughts? Ive just started new acne treatment from my dermatologist that sheds/flakes my skin, so I need a good moisturiser (that isn't oily and won't cause me to break out). Im trying to avoid moisturisers with mineral oil in - Aveeno does not list it as an ingredient. Thanks,
  25. Here's the background info: Started regimen a long, long time ago. About four years ago. After 5ish months on it I was baby face clear and stayed that way for about half a year. Mind you, during this time I could eat ANYTHING and not be affected. It was a good time. Flash Forward to now, my skin isn't that great. It's typically a week long breakout (1-2 zits a day, for a week) follow by a week of healing/red spots, followed up by two-three days of clear, nice looking skin. Only to break
