    Day 11

Day 11, oddly enough my side effects seem to have improved rather than gotten worse? Has this happened to anyone else? This worries me. My dry eyes that were terrible just 2 days ago are now manageable, my dry nose is barely bothering me at all and my dry lips are mild compared to what they were 2 days ago. I know I should probably be extrememly happy but i'm more concerned that it isn't working as well? As far as acne goes I've gotten another little white head on my jaw line... nothing ma

Month 2 Day 10--Dry Eyes Ugh

I'm experiencing kind of a mini version of the initial dryness craziness from month 1, due to the upped dosage. Lips, upper lip, and chin are all peeling, but not nearly as bad as the first time around. However, I am really stressed out about my eyes--they are sooo dry and the vision in my right eye has become blurry. I went to the optometrist and she said the blurriness is caused by mild keratitis on that eye due to it being dry from the accutane and told me to use OTC eye drops 4x a day and an
  3. HI, I am located in SYDNEY Australia. I am looking for any other people suffering from this drug located in Australia to take part in a class action law suit. Please contact me at: (email address removed)
  4. HELP As the title says, I've been using differin since Wednesday (almost a week ago) and I've noticed my skin has become red, itchy and is peeling in the corner of my eyes. My doctor instructed me to not use differin in the eye area and so I followed his advice, however I've somehow managed to get the side effect of red blotches in the corners of my eyes. I tried to put a cetaphil moisturiser on them but it stings to put it on? If the moisturiser had a lot of chemicals in then I wouldn't be too

    Day 6

Sooo I'm more tired than normal today but not sure if that's due to work or the meds. Guess we'll never know. I definitely need to work on remembering to drink more water throughout the day as well! I've still been touching my face a lot, which I really need to focus on not doing! Hopefully its early enough in treatment that I won't have long term scarring or whatnot from it. My eyes have also been a little more dry and i'm hoping they don't become excessively dry because I wear contacts and hav

    Start Of Week 2

I decided I'd really like to document my progress. This medication is pretty intense. Today is the first day of my second week. I am currently on 60 mg per day. It seems a little high? I'm 24 years old, 5'7" and 120 lbs. I see a lot of people on 20-40 mg but I guess my derm knows better than me. I've only gotten 3 white heads since starting last week which is a MAJOR improvement. Side effects ... * My first 4 days I had terrible headaches that lasted continually 4 days straight. It had me ve
  7. I've been on claravis 60mg for 5 months now I weight 175 pounds. I don't know if I should stop it before causes me damages. Since the second month I been getting rash like skin spots on my face. I was given Synalar by my doctor but I am still experiencing this. My eyes are really dry and sometimes get blurry. But what really scared me was having blood in my stool. I am going to see the dermatologist tomorrow should I tell her not to give me the next month supply or are these side effects tempor
  8. INVITING YOU TO MY JOURNEY WITH ACCUTANE...I AM 32 YEARS OLD WITH MODEREATE ACNE STARTED OUT WITH SEVERE ACNE AND THROUGH TACKLING WITH ALL THE CREAMS AND 3 STEP SYSTEMS OUT THERE I JUST CANNOT GET RID OF IT. 9. I've been on acctuane 20mg for the past 3 months and it has cleared up my back acne considerably. The acne has faded and now when you run your fingers over the pimples, they don't seem to be there. So it that regard accutane was successful. I have another months left of capsules but I don't think ill proceed with taking them due these side effects even though my acne has not cleared completely. dry eyes red eyes feeling tired The dry eyes is pretty bad even I do use 'dry-eye moisturising ey

    Post Accutane eye problems

Hello, this is my first post on here so bare with me. I am a 20 year old female and I have done 2 courses of Accutane. The first course when I was 17 for 7 months, and the second course I had just finished a month and a half ago and lasted 5 months. My first course I didn’t have any severe side effects, just dryness to the skin and hair. Everything went back to normal once I was off the tane. This time my eyes began to get very dry, they became bloodshot, I took a steroid drop once while I was
  11. So I am starting my accutane log today..I am a 27 yr. old male...my acne was far worse from 16 yrs old- 20. I have severe cystic acne, which is not out of control anymore on my face, but i still get it on my back, chest, and behind head. I am on day 11 of absorica/40 mg. I can tell it is starting to work on my skin already, but i do not like the side effects. Already i am sore in the ribs area as if i had been doing abdomen exercises like sit ups. I am more tired than usual and my eyes are far d

    Day 05

I will take dose 5 of Amnesteem tonight - I know I'm still in the very beginning stages, but here's how I feel: 1. My eyes are dry and red 2. My skin is peeling in some spots on my face That's it so far. As far as my skin goes, I had a few spots - one on the chin, one on the cheek and one on the forehead. They have mostly dried out, although the cheek spot looks like it's deciding wether to retaliate or just go away. My back is pretty dried out as well. At this point, my biggest f

Day 11- Is This The Ib?

So, today is the end of day 11. So far, -I finally am getting the dry lips that everyone keeps talking about. Like, my lips are cracking on the sides and I'm re-applying Aquaphor every hour. -Its is becoming a real issue to wear eye contacts for more than five hours. Just so dry and I don't always have eye drops around. I think I need to convert to glasses for daily wear and turn to contacts for when I'm going out. -I can't be certain that its from the Accutane, but there js a dry patch
  14. Hi guys! As you can see in my blog, I took 40mg/day accutane for 4 weeks and 5 days of accutane at 60mgs/day. I developed pretty severe superficial punctate keratitis (basically eye ecxcema...ouch) and had to go off. Things went back to normal pretty quickly except for my eyes are now a little drier than they were and I don't tolerate contact lenses as well. My skin was clearing beautifully on the tane and I had no other effects, but since my course was so short I was back to my extreme
  15. Hello and Happy Halloween! Ever since middle school, I have suffered from pretty severe cystic acne. My mood is largely based on how bad the cysts on my face are. When I get cystic acne, I get it bad. Recently I was suffering from a cyst on my forehead the size of a golf ball! These have cysts have made me suicidal in the past, and usually throw me in an extreme depression. So that's my acne situation, and I was prescribed accutane and can pick it up tomorrow. I am having second thoughts

    70mg OMG

day 4 on 70mg! now a month on 40mg looks easy!! Ok so from day 1 on 70mg my lips were even drier- more lip balm. Elzabeth Arden 8 hour cream is my saviour for dry skin! I use on my lips and around my eyes for dry skin. Eyes are dry but it is saving me Skin is a bit more dry and dull but no flaking or anything just whacking on the cetaphil moisturiser day and night with the elemis collagen cleanser which seems to work in preventing and nice on skin! I still ha dno initial breakout, couple of hor
  17. My son, age 15 has dry eyes and was prescribed Omega 3 in the form of flax or fish oil supplements. He tried fish oil for 2 weeks and his acne worsened. I'm afraid to try flax oil or ground flax seeds because they contain phytoestrogens which can worsen acne in males. So it seems that my only option to have him eat more Omega 3 rich fish. Hopefully that doesn't worsen acne too! I do prepare it once a week or so and haven't noticed breakouts, but now that I need to increase his servings,

Day 52 dry eye dry nose

Day 52, 4 days til my second monthly dermatogoly appointment. Ok, so now the inside of my right nostril is dry as heck it is quite irratining and a little senstive unpleasent, ive tried the vaseline up the nose trick, but it is a very temporary soothing. It is a hard sympton to get on top of and i have had a few nose bleeds. It is very livable though and a lot of my little pimples that covered the nice skin of my forehead have disappeared. Still geting a few under the skin big spots, w
