  1. I went to dermatology today. It turns out you see the nurse for your pregnancy test, to talk about any side effects and get your prescription. You don't see the derm until the end of month three. I told her about my very dry hands and arms and she told me my dose stays the same until I see the derm. The nurse did say that if my skin continues to be so dry, I will probably stay on a low dose because as long as my total dose is right for my weight it doesn't matter in what way I take it, it will
  2. Well,I'm on accutane 50mg daily for over two monthsa and lately I've been having some issues with my pharmacy. MY Pharmacy was out of 10mg ROACCUTANE pills,so gave me 10mg ABSORICA instead.I asked them to inform me if they can manage to get ROACCUTANE. Today,I got a call from them saying the have 10mg Roaccutane now.So my father went to the pharmacy and exchanged the ABSORICA pills with the ROACCUTANE pills. Since he doesn't know anything about my pills,it turned out that though both of them
  3. Hi. Last year I took Accutane from May to December. A total dosage of 100mg/kg. I wanted to reach the recommended 120 mg/kg but I quit because I started to have strong eye irritations. The doctor told me that I could complete the dosage later. A month later (it was the middle of summer), he told that the treatment was over, that it was not necessary to reach 120 mg/kg. A few days later I began to have acne. I know that even with a full dosage, acne and oily skin can come back. But because the
  4. Yesterday seemed good. I didn't have any hot flashes or that excess heat feeling. This morning my nose is peeling a tiny bit on the tip but I do sometimes get that. My lips are slightly dry but that's normal for me too. My skin does feel noticeably drier on my face and it totally sucked up the Cetaphil this morning where I find that it usually sits on my skin for ages. One of the reasons I never liked it. So, my prescribed starting dose was 30mg and i have been taking 20mg to see how it goes.
  5. I'm going to Mexico for spring break in about 2.5 weeks. I am currently on my last month of Accutane (40 mg/day). I'll be in the sun a lot, so I'm worried about getting a horrible sunburn. I know it takes about a month for it to completely be out of your system, but if I stop taking it right now will it help reduce my sensitivity to the sun?
  6. Decided to make this log since low dose treatments aren't that popular. I finished a normal course of accutane six months ago, reached the cumulative dosage of 120mg/kg and got to enjoy clear skin for a while. Now my acne is coming back, luckily not as bad as before but still enough for me to start taking accutane again. I would classify my acne as mild, however, the frustration of having good skin then going back to having acne is just horrible. I just want this to be over with. I started 10
  7. Soooo im new to this whole forum thing so yeah hiiiiii I started accutane on the 30th september this year, so 8 days ago. The dermatologist put me on 10 mg every second day, I weigh around 40 kg, Ive read many other forum posts and i have not seen anyone with such a low dosage.. My acne is defiantly not mild, i'd say moderate to serve. Secondly my dermatologist said my course will only be 4 months, and with such a low dosage I really dont think it would be enough to cure my acne problem. N
  8. Finished 4 months of 80mg/day accutane and I was originally only scheduled for a 4.5 month course, however the derm said today he wants to up the daily dosage after not seeing that I was 100% clear. What I really don't get is that I am almost 100% clear, it's just I have some red marks from past pimples (usually popped ones) that make it look like I still have some slight acne, but my derm is insistent on getting me 100% clear (can't argue with that). He wants me to take 40mg in morning
  9. hey everyone i'm gonna be a freshman next year at college and i wanna join a frat. however, i'm concerned. i have very mild but VERY persistent chin acne. my cheeks and forehead are basically flawless... but my chin still gets my self esteem down even though it's really not that bad... im considering 20mg every other day (low dose), but im stuck, because if im on accutane, i can't drink right? in that case, how the hell am i gonna join a frat first semester? is 20mg every other day l
  10. Most recent pic (Feb 06, 2014): Still posting and updating at least once every week. I'd like to stay anon for the most part but I felt like I had to post some pictures to show my authenticity. However, if you do recognize me, please keep this private as that is my wish. Thank you! My log is a little late, but better late than never! On May 22, 2013, I began an ultra low dose Accutane experiment supervised by my derm. A bit about myself before I dive in. I am a 25 year old Korean
  11. Hi guys! So I just wanted to ask if anyone has decreased from two capsules of lymecycline a day to one capsule a day and if so whether or not you suffered a massive breakout from decreasing the dose? My GP has refused to represcribe me the two capsules so I'm being forced to decrease to one but I'm going on holiday on Sunday and REALLY don't want to be dealing with an awful breakout whilst I'm away. Please, please comment below if you have any experience of this, thanks
  12. Hi ive had acne for a long time and have just started accutane around two and a half months ago ,since starting ive seen some noticible effect with very little side effects , but my skin still has breakouts and ive asked to increase the dosage. i started accutane 27th march 2015 and have been taking a daily dose of 20mg up untill today ( june 15 2015) total 80! days on a low dose of 20mg . i weigh 80kg and the minimum dose for my bodyweight is 0.5mg per kg? = 40mg my first blood test was o
  13. Ok so I'm really confused. I've heard a lot about this 100mg/kg theory, and that your body weight needs to be addressed in order to start a specific dosage/length of time etc. My dermatologist never mentioned this to me, but it seems to be rather important, as I have noticed that a lot on people on here seem to swear by this rule. I am taking a second round of Roaccutane and I seriously do not want to be doing this again; I want my acne gone. However, my dermatologist only suggested a 4 mon
  14. *related to my last post Almost 4.5 months done a steady 80mg/day course, and when I went to my derm visit a week ago, he suggested I prolong my course (intended to be 4.5, but now he wants around 5-5.5) and increase my dosage to 120mg/day for 2 weeks, and then 160 mg/day for the last 2 weeks. First of all, I think this is pretty absurd considering I do not have any active pimples (maybe one minor one thats fading) it's just I have redness left after the acne I got on the early stages of
  15. Taking a poll. or respond with your dosage if its not a choice. THANK YOU!
  16. Hello! I have been on accutane for 4 days now. I am going on accutane for 4 months due to some personal stuff. Thing is - my weight is 86kg and he told me to take 2 pillsx20mg for 2 weeks then go over to 3 pillsx20mg for 2 weeks. (After these 4 weeks i'm going back to my dermatologist) But isn't that quite low for my weight? I mean, if i'm supposed to be done within 4 months, shouldn't I be on a higher dose? How about if I go up to 3 pills now, instead of waiting 2 weeks? I'm having
  17. Hey all! I have decided to make an account and contribute to this community since I have heavily relied on this site for support. I am currently 3 weeks and 3 days into my accutane treatment (30mg/day). So far, the only side effects I am experiencing are dry skin and lips...but totally manageable. I went to my doctor today to get another month's worth of accutane and she bumped me up to 50mg/day, which is 1mg/kg for my weight. I had an initial breakout 2 weeks in...it was pretty bad but not TERR
  18. Hey all. It's been a while since I have posted here, and I ended up forgetting my username and password so I had to make a new one. Anyway, like I said, I'm planning on taking low dose accutane for oily skin, starting in July. I have read how effective it can be, the studies done, and some users here have done it. I remember reading a Korean guy (sorry forgot your name bro, don't even know if you frequent here anymore) doing this and he had great results, but then switched to a topical, never
  19. Hi! I've recently started my third month of Clavaris. I'm a 24 year old female who weighs 135 lbs (about 61 kg). For two and a half months now I've been taking 40 mg two times a day now. At first, the high dosage was hell, causing me to have body pains, terrible breakouts and dry skin. Now its just causing dry skin thats manageable for the most part and my breakouts are quickly going away. But I've been looking around it seems like people are on a lower dose than me and I'm concerned.
  20. I'm a 20 year old female, 5'8 and 130 pounds. I just started on 60 mg of accutane per day and was wondering if someone of my stature should be starting on such a high dosage? Will my side effects be more severe?
  21. So my dermatologist finally prescribed me Accutane, and I have moderately severe acne that scars. My medicine is supposed to be ready to be picked up tomorrow after 3 pm, but I'm worried because my derm prescribed me only 20mg/day and i'm 17, 5'4.5, and 117 pounds (female). Do you think if I call him in the morning and ask for a higher dosage that they will change this month's from 20 to 40? Or is it too late? I don't want my acne to come back once the course is over, and my derm said I will be

  24. This is when my lips began to peel Hi! Im on a week and a day of accutane (generic brand)... and the first layer of my lips just peeled off ! Like completely... my lips are BLOOD BRIGHT RED and swollen... I feel like this is even worse than super dry chapped lips? I have tried a million chapsticks Dr dans.. everything. My derm even prescribed me 2% cortisone.. but I think he thought my lips were dry because they aren’t flaky or peeling anymore they are just super uncomfortable and it’s h
  25. Hey everyone! So,I started accutane 9 days ago and I take 20 mg a day. I'm 19 yr old, female and I have constant but mild acne on my face back and chest area for almost 7 years now.I have tried a lot of prescribed lotions over the years...Nadixa, Clindoxyl, Finacea and many more none of them worked except one. Before my accutane treatment I was on Finacea and it worked wonders for 4 monts and then my skin became realllly reallllly oily, like I never experienced before. With the oil came the
