    the struggles

i finally finished my accutane and my skin was clear for a month or two and now i'm back to breaking out in bad cysts. why does this stuff always happen to me?? i'm sick and tired of this. i thought maybe i could stay cleared up and have a normal social life but i guess not. i just wish this would go away. i want to enjoy life and BE HAPPY. i don't want be in the same mess as last year.
  2. Hello everyone! I'm new here but really hoping someone has had similar experiences or has an idea of something that may help me. I've had acne since I was 12 or 13, so at least 7 years. I've tried salicylic acid, Rodan + Fields (the Unblemish line and the Soothe line), some Korean treatment for acne + sensitive skin (which actually sometimes seemed to help), essential oils/tea tree oil (used to help more than it does now), various face masks, acne creams, antibiotics, etc. and now using Young Living's Orange Blossom face wash + moisturizer set. My skin is currently really dry, red, and itchy (I don't know why, I use a lot of moisturizer!). Anyway, my acne now is ALL of the above and more, and I can't figure out anything that works! I have whiteheads, blackheads, cystic acne, and questionable "knots" that are maybe some other sort of cystic acne? I typically have 2 or more knots under the skin that are usually not red on top like most acne, yet seem to have pus inside and are definitely a bump on my skin, and they last a really long time. They can be huge sometimes and never come to a head. The closest they've ever come to a head was a dark spot (kind of looked like blood under the skin) and I lanced it with a sterile needle once to let it drain and it let out a TON of pus and blood. It was gross. It happened again recently, and this knot was painful, so I decided to poke it with a needle to see if I could relieve pain. It oozed pus a lot at once, but didn't seem to "empty" although it felt somewhat better afterwards. I had another that has been there for MONTHS and I have been scared to mess with it, and I poked it as well and it just bled. The weird thing is that it is soft, like it feels like it should drain and that there's fluid near the surface but I guess not? I really have no idea what these "knots" are since they are NOT red and do not have a head. I call it acne but it also kind of sounded like a sebaceous cyst according to Google. Anyone have any ideas, opinions, experience, help? I'm open to suggestions about the rest of my acne/redness/dryness as well!!

    Scar Excision, not sure

From the album: Scar - Excision

I am planing to have an excision but i am afraid of getting a worse scar. This scar on my left cheek has bother me for 10 years. I went for consultation with 3 plastic surgeons and the last consultation was very helpful. The facial plastic surgeon is planing to do the excision with scalpel which i think is better that doing a punch hole. Can someone tell me if scars can really improved?

    Acne Scar Advice

Hello, I'm a 22-year-old female and my acne recently cleared. Now, I'm working on saving up money to get rid of my acne scars. (Bottom two are without makeup.) I was wondering if anyone can give me an estimate on how severe my scarring is and also how much they believe it will cost to fix? Any advice/comments are appreciated. Thank you!
  6. Hi guys. I was wondering, is there anyone here that has tried TCA Cross or needles for nose scar? Anyone with success stories? I tried TCA peels and for me there is a very little improvement. For needling, I am really very afraid to try this on my nose as it might make more damage. I have done 3 sessions of TCA Peels on my nose, using 10% strength as I am afraid to use higher concentrations. Any thoughts? Thank you!
  7. I’ve been using the treatment for about 4 week, but I had to skip 2-3 days since my skin got REALLY flakey. Ever since I started using the treatment, I get these random deep spots that lasts for ages, which did not happen so frequently before. They also seem to appear at the most random places all over my cheeks, places I havent really experienced acne before. What is going on? It really demotivates me from continuing the treatment. My skin definitely looks worse than before I started using it… Side note: I haven’t been able to go up to the full amount of bp because it makes my skin dry to the point where it feels like I'm wearing a mask…

    Getting Desperate.

Hello, I'm sure tons of people are always on here asking what to do about their acne, so I apologize for using this platform to reach out for help, but I badly need it. I am a 20 year old male and my acne problems have only been getting worse and worse for the past 3-4 years. I have tried nearly everything, over-the-counter creams, peels, proactiv, aczone, progesterone, antibiotics, washes, you name it. Nothing has worked, or they have worked very temporarily and then suddenly stopped. What makes it rough is that every so often my acne will clear up for a couple days (sometimes only one), and I cannot seem to figure out what causes this pattern. My acne constantly fluctuates. I have done some testing to see if I could narrow it down and have not managed to get any idea. I workout about 6 times a week (have tried decreasing this, does not make a difference), my diet is extremely clean (and free of saturated fats, oils, sugary carbs), I live in a warm climate, but have also lived in cold climates in the last few years (hasn't seemed to make any difference). I am getting desperate and have a visit will another dermatologist later next month to see if they can take a guess what is wrong, but it is still far away and in the mean time I am looking for any help I can get. If you took the time to read this thank you, I have attached a picture of my acne if it helps any. p.s. the pictures are from today which is has been one of the clearer days for my skin, it is usually at least 25% worse than this
  9. I've never had perfect skin, I get the occasional bout of cystic acne along with relatively normal white heads and black heads. But last week a cystic spot came up on my fore head, I've leant with my cystic acne the best solution is just to leave it alone, no touching or prodding and just carry on with my usual skin routine and within a couple of days the redness and swelling will have drastically decreased and my make up will pretty much cover up all trace of it. But this one on my fore head is different it was super painful when it first started developing as they usually are, so I took some ibuprofen and within a couple of days it was no longer painful, but it is still the same sized lump, no matter how much I ice it, or use hot compresses it refuses to shrink. It's no longer red, just a dark bruised colour. So my question is, will it go away on its own or do I need to take serious action on it? It's all I can see when I look in the mirror and how ever much my friends assure me no ones going to notice it I feel so self conscious. I've had it for over a week and a half with no change, so any suggestions on whats cause it or how I can get rid of it would be much appreciated! I'm turning 21 next week and the last thing I want is to be feeling self conscious on my birthday! Thank you in advance for any advice x
  10. I have been suffering from deep acne scars for the past threemonths i have done three setting of derma roller treatment still it does not improve my doctor suggests me to get 6 settings to fade these scars
  11. I have been struggling with these acne scars for years and I'm strongly considering trying a TCA peel, My question is how effective would it be? I would be using it strictly on my nose and any advice would be deeply appreciated.
  12. Hello! I need help. I have a big deep acne scar right between my eyes. I absolutely hate it and I'm very self conscious about it! It's a little inflamed in the pictures, but that's because I was messing with it. Even when it's not as red it's still super noticeable. What's the best way to get rid of this scar?? Also, I'm only 17 so surgery and laser stuff really isn't an option. By the way, in the second picture you can see I have another scar on the side of my nose. Close to my eye. I'd like to get rid of that one as well, but the big one between the eyes is my top priority. Please help??

    Deep Scars

Hi! I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if I'm a noob. Anyway, I have two acne scars between my eyes that I am extremely self conscious about. Thankfully I wear glasses, so they help cover them up. But I am scared to death of removing my glasses in public because I hate these scars. One of them is directly between my eyes. It's not as bad, but I still hate it. The other one is kind of on the side of my nose near my eye. It's really red and inflamed because I was messing with it before I took these pictures. (I know I shouldn't do that) They are both deep scars. I've searched all over the internet to find a way to get rid of them. I'm only 17, so surgery isn't an option. Please help?? Any ideas to make them less visible and ugly?
  14. Hi! I have a boxscar about 0.5cm long and 0.5cm wide on my left cheek. It's really bothering me. It's so deep I can feel it with my fingers. It gets like a big shadow in certain light and is really noticable. I hate it and want to improve it. I have done dermarolling 1mm on it several times but don't any real improvement other than the skin feels a bit more smoother around it and it's not like a bump anymore. The scar is still there like I said. I read about subcision also but I'm not sure I could afford it. I also read about excision. What is the difference between these two? My scar is like the one in the center of the image below. Need your help please! Thanks!
  15. Hey guyz, i am an 18 year old with just a littpe bit of acne thanks to Differin and many healing processes i had to learn while treating acne. Alright so a while back around 6 month ago a pimple ( white head i think ) had appeared on my chest, it happened that i popped it and of course it came back a lot bigger yet when it came back i really dont know what it was anymore, it had no head and seemed burried under skin, its color was a bit LIGHTER than the skin back then, anyway like 2 month ago i went on like 3 skin picking rampages ( i pick both chest and back, but chest mostly, i stopped picking my face like a year ago) I am a perfectionist and sometimes when i am feeling anxious and bored i go on picking rampages, so during those picking rampages i really went so hard on this spot, the first time i tried to zit it i had to press really hard and during that first time i felt like something to have " popped" and just soooo much "white" stuff came out, i mean i would have to pop like 10 pimples to get that much, it was not too liquid and not solid ( sorry for disgusting description but i just am badly in need of help ) so the first 2 pickings, i stopped after my skin getting too red, after the picking the skin where i picked would get really big and inflamated for the next few days and heal after a week or two, No matter how much i pushed hard there was always "white thing "left, the 2nd time i pushed harder and reached a liquid that was transparent with a tint of yellow, Alright the 3rd time was a carnage i chose to get everything out till i see blood, i was able to see blood after a while and i believe it has scarred the mark is now DARK yet its size is still the same as of when it was light colored, i know that if i pick it there would be a lot of white stuff again, btw after i picked it the 3rd time i applied over it differine so it wouldnt get infected. What is it ? You think its scarred forever ? Even so, is there anyway to remove the dark color and make it the same as the skin's , and most importantly JUST HOW IS IT GETTING REFILLED WITH WHITE STUFF ?! Btw i know picking skin isnt gonna help the healing and actually do a lot of damage but i really cant help it. Now for the 2nd issue its about my face as i have state before i stopped picking it a year ago yet in light i can see like tiny small holes probably due to my past picking, is there anyway to close them and make my skin look unclogged ? 3rd issue its about my nose, it seems my nose has plenty of blackheads under the skin and for some reason my nose is the part of my face that gets oily the most, i mean during the day it would start shining, any way to fix it ? Sorry for such a big thread but its just that i created an account like an hour ago and started writting all my acne problems here thank you for reading

    Mixto 3 Weeks Later

I tried it. I think im done throwing money away. It's was the most uncomfortable, physical experience I've ever had. I'm a 30 year old male that has gone through a lot and I wouldn't go thru pain like that again without a sedative. it has been 3 weeks and I know it made my scars worse. I think this treatment is for old women that want to get rid of superficial lines. I think about treatments with hope and I lose my logic. I think about treatments with logic and I lose hope. Oh well. I wish I could just learn to love my face regardless of some scarring. I'm a really cute guy. Do people care that much or is it only I that cares?
  17. I have moderate acne. I completely cut milk out of my diet two months ago. I started drinking lots of water. I used apple cider vinegar. It began getting clearer. My face is not sensitive, but I was so desperate to get rid of this horrible flare up all along my jaw line that I was using baking soda, lemon, benzoyl wash trying to give myself a chemical peel. I know this is horrible to do I just thought my skin could take it. So I guess it flared up because I was completely stripping it of its oils. I began using acnomel and it completely cleared up. now, around my period, as usual my face flares up. Devastating because I had worked SK hard and finally got it clear for the first time in eight years. I was crushed. now, using acnomel every night desperate I don't know what j did to my cysts and deep acne, but once they popped, they became flat and huge huge red circles formed around them and became painful. I look like I have some sort of skin disease now. I'll try and post a pic, but it is scaley and flaky. I washed my face gently and the spot began bleeding so I put triple antibiotic ointment with pain reliever on it. Mind you two days ago I started putting lavender and rose hip oil on and it seemed to help some, at least not making it worse. I also put some ice on for a little. The red pigmentation around the spot is undeniable. I have an obgyn appt tomorrow to get on some sort of birth control. I was on OrthoEvra patch for maybe two and a half years. Worked great for acne. I stopped taking it a year ago. I also want to get on spironalactone. Help me ;((( I stopped everything except washing with water. Gently and a little of that oil at night.
  18. Help! i have deep ice pick scarring and suffer with eczema and sensitive skin (nightmare!) So finding a treatment for my scarring has proven difficult. I've spoken to a dermatologist who has advised fractora would be the best treatment and wouldn't cause my eczema to flare up during recovery. It sounds as though fractora would be the only treatment not to irritate my skin and cause further problems during recovery, however I have read elsewhere that fractora wouldn't change the appearance of icepick scars. Has anyone had any luck with fractora and ice pick scarring? Any help or recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  19. Hi everybody! I have started using 5% salicylic acid last week to clean up some closed comedones and since then have gotten 5 (five!!!) deep inflammations near my mouth. They are very deep red bumps that hurt a lot and are not likely to come to a head. I have not changed my regimen, the except that I have missed 2-3 days of taking Candex, anti-candida supplement. So far used ice and obscene amounts of 5% BP + antibiotic and managed to dissolve one. Hope it is not too late for the other. I am at loss what might have caused them. This does not seem like a normal purging breakout, because inflammation are very deep. I have a date soon and this crap does not make my life any easier. Is stronger salicylic acid the cause? If yes, should I go through with it or rather stop it? Thanks!
