  1. I have been taking birth control pills for 3 weeks now, and the time has come for my week without taking the pills. My skin has stopped breaking out as much in the past 3 weeks, I'm hoping that means that the pill is helping. But I want to know whether during this week off I'm likely to get a breakout?
  2. Hi. So I haven't posted anything on this forum in quite awhile because I haven't really needed to. HISTORY: I began getting mild acne around 3 years ago, mostly just whiteheads. Over the course of 2 years my acne got irritated and discolored. I wasn't happy. So let's start with around 2 years ago. I first started using Benzoyl Peroxide 0.1% for my acne in the fall of 2011. Though my acne started to subside, nothing drastically changed. In March of 2012 I decided to try the Acne.org Regimen.
  3. So I've been using Dan's BP for a little over a year now. It's been the best thing for my acne that I've ever tried - but recently, after a year of clear skin, I've been experiencing minor spots and other types of minor acne. It's not that noticeable and for the most part my skin is clear, but what's disturbing is that they keep coming back. Here's the type of acne that I'm getting right now (it's different from when I first started the regimen) SPOTS: Reddish pink spots that are typically und
  4. The weather is humid and rainy in my town again. It will be like this all winter and I NEED to know how to control my sebum/oil production from within my body. I already do all I can to my face , but if anyone knows any sort of over the counter drug or natural food/remedy that controls/reduces oil production please let me know!!
  5. Hey so I just recently found out a cheap method that surprisingly works well in controlling my acne, and I have been trying this for a month before posting to see if the results were consistent but to be sure can you guys try it out too, it should cost only at most $20. Anyways, this method is nothing new but it consists of taking 3 supplements that you can purchase at Walmart. These supplements are: Zinc, Vitamin D3 5000 IU, and Omega 3 Fish oil. The results I've had we're very significant,
  6. My doctor put me on birth control (ortho-tricyclen) after my first period in middle school. Fast forward - clear skin for almost my entire life until I turn 19 and decide I don't need to be on synthetic hormones. Three months later, cystic acne all over my cheeks, jawline, and neck. Sound familiar? Straight away I go to the derm. Get put back on ortho-tri. I stayed on the ortho tri only to experience mediocre results, then moved onto yaz for three months which caused a literal facial explosion

    10/5/2012 Over One Year Later...

From the album: Face the Facts

Over one year later, and I'm still excited about how well avoiding certain foods (for me, tomato, avocado, grapefruit, safflower oil, cola, pumpkin + nightshades) and taking birth control has improved my complexion. I feel comfortable enough about my skin's resiliency to actually wear make-up now... thus the picture with make-up (eye shadow, eye liner, and lip color). For the record, I wash my face only once a day now, and I have been doing so for the most since over a year ago. It's funny, beca

    Quitting Birth Control (pics)

Let this be the beginning of my birth control free life. Been takin' a yaz generic for four years. Basically completely cleared my skin up. I only get small break outs around my period or if I have a lot of sugar. Before birth control I had mostly moderate but at times severe acne since I started puberty. I was 20 when I started it and now I'm 24. I'm trying to be more health conscious overall so I'd like to stop taking it and solve my acne naturally. I've heard acne gets a lot worse afte

    Birth Control (Diane35) log

Hi everyone! Okay so this is going to be me documenting my acne journey.. with the help of birth control! I'm someone who likes to ramble quite a bit so sorry in advance. Background - My acne began when I was 13. It started off as quite a lot of pimples (small whiteheads) around the forehead. I think this could have been attributed to my very dramatic side fringe that covered practically half my face (we all had those, right?). When I got rid of the fringe, my acne cleared immediately. So t

UPDATE: 2 years and 8 months later!

IT REALLY WORKS First off I cannot stress enough how much the regimen works! It works, it works, it works... You just need to be consistent, keep up the routine, and the advice on how to care for your skin. Why my late post? Well time has flown by and i have been MIA because my hubby and I have made huge changes in life. Like no joke: moving to another country. However, when a friend of mine mentioned the concern she had re: her acne it made me think of Acne.org and I referred her to it. Th
