  1. Hi guys, I need some advice/help/experiences please. Essentially, I want to quit my Yasmin pill for various personal reasons, but I'm concerned my acne is going to come back, and the internet seems to confirm this! But, as I have recently undergone a second course of Roaccutane, I don't know if I need to worry. I started Yasmin in July 2013 and started my second course of Roaccutane in October 2013, so the Yasmin has been with me throughout the healing process. By June 2014 my skin was goo
  2. This is a warning to any young women who are thinking of taking birth control to help their acne, or birth control in general in my personal opinion, for overall health and vitality. I started taking yazmin because I needed birth control, and I also told my doctor I wanted something for my acne. She said that because yazmin had anti androgen effect, it would help tackle my acne because acne is caused by too many male sex hormones and an over production of oil on the face. Anyway, everythin
  3. Hi. I'm 29 years old (next week) and I never suffered with acne as a teen. My acne started 2 years ago out of nowhere! I couldn't think where it came from as I had not changed my skin care routine and thought it must be my contraception I had a mirena coil and after reading about how it can cause / make acne worse, I decided to change and opted for the implanon implant instead, I had had this before and never suffered with bad skin so I thought I ahold give it a go again. 6 months later there
  4. Hello everyone,So I have been referring to people's advice on this website for years and have never actually posted myself. I'm in the process of trying to decide which contraception method to go with, so I figured I would get advice from people who actually understand! I've suffered with acne on & off for about 12 years now, I've had periods where it's been extremely bad and also periods of having completely clear skin. In the midst of all this, I have tried topical treatments, antibiotics,
  5. hello everyone! So I havn't been on any contraception in a good three years - used to be on birth control pill but they were all a bloody nightmare and never helped my skin anyway. However now I have reached a point in my life where I need to consider long-term contraception and i will NOT be taking any form of birth control pill again, I don't want to take any hormonal contraception as I am on agnus castus and EPO which keeps my hormonal acne under control. So I am thinking of having the co

  7. Hi everyone, I'd like to share my experience with hormonal acne and how I cleared it up completely with the contraceptive patch, Ortho Evra. I've only ever read negative reviews of the patch in relation to acne so wanted to get a positive version out in the hope that this will help others ! I have suffered from acne since I was about 13. Antibiotics never worked for me so at 17 I was suggested the contraceptive pill. Dianette cleared this up completely however after 2 years the emotional si
  8. Hi there, I thought I would start a new topic as I have been on dianette for about 9 days now for my acne and I have not only had a terrible initial breakout of spots and cysts but i have what appears to be a constant bumpy hivey rash on my face. It is not itchy but very unsightly. I am thinking of quitting dianette as it obviously doesn't agree with me. I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced this type of reaction to dianette or birth control? I feel absolutely terrible, the lowes
