  1. I never thought I had an IB. I never thought my skin was that bad. But tonight I finally found the courage to look at my progress pictures album. I took a photo every day in July and carried this on but now I only take a couple a week. I never thought I had an IB because I thought it could't happen in the first week. But the before pictures here were took on 11th July which was 12 days into my treatment. Yeah my skin is still red but it's CLEAR of acne and bumps. For some silly reason
  2. I have had these annoying and stubborn skin coloured bumps which I recently found it was called closed comedones which have been on my face for 2 years and are extremely stubborn. It looks absolutely dreadful on me when I wear makeup such as foundation and it's mainly located on my cheeks. I've tried every single product from really high end to really cheap and have found that using homemade masks and treatments work the best
  3. So I’ve been for 2 years going around the same problem, closed comedones on my face. I’m a 20 (almost 21) year old female. At the beginning of the year I started using a medication in gel form that had tretinoin 0,025% and erythromycin. I work, mostly. Some of my closed comedones were gone and some I was able to easily extract them. But for some reason I broke out again pretty bad all over my cheeks. I kept using the gel but I realize it wasn’t doing much, so I started using tretinoin on 0
  4. Please help me. My skin is oily for the most part. How do I get rid of these bumps and prevent them from growing back??? Any help is appreciated
  5. Basically I've had these ever since age 12 or so. I'm unsure what these are but they're really small/fine flesh coloured bumps. I've been doing research online but I don't think they're sebaceous filaments or closed comedones. They're really not painful at all. If anybody knows what they are then please could you provide tips on how to get rid?
  6. I have come here because I’m so desperate now! About 2 months ago I noticed more bumps on my face, kind of like whiteheads but no actual head, just raised bumps. When I squeeze them a little bit of white stuff comes out. I used to have a few but no more than like 5 on my face. Now, it has spread and my face is literally covered in them!!! I have no idea what caused it, I didn’t change anything about my routine or habits. I’ve tried clearasil, face scrubs, oils, everything! I drink water,
  7. I'm 14 and lately I have been having issues on my skin and I don't know what it is I've made research but still confused first I thought it was folliculitis but mine are not itchy nor painful nor red so I thought it was comedones but I'm still in doubt
  8. So my dermatologist has had me on Epiduo Forte and Solodyn for 13 days now, and it's been working great for my acne (cystic and closed comedones). Backstory: my forehead had been the worst the areas since 6 months ago when this all started. So all the products/treatments I tried mainly concentrated there. I still put makeup on the lower half of the face, but never on the forehead. and when my skin started to get better, I wanted to give a bit of concealer or even foundati
  9. Hi everyone, this is my second month on differin and I'm having a couple of cystic acne which doesn't come to a head, multiple pus-filled acne (which fortunately comes to a head) and lots of dark acne scars (a few which are still red and many others which are dark and grey). I get that there are initial breakouts with differin, but am I supposed to get cystic acne from this? Some of my cystic acne doesn't go away completely and stay as a bump on my face. Worse of all, there are the multiple dark
  10. Hi, I'm 15 and I've been suffering with these bumps on my forehead for about a year, and my skin has also become increasingly oily. Sometimes I can just scratch off the oil sebum from my skin, but mostly the issue is that the bumps are under my skin - they're not pimples. I've done so much research for solutions, but every website tells me something different. What should I do? Change my diet? Change my regimen? I use Neutrogena Shine control twice a day and often exfoliate. I don't drink nearly
  11. hi! do whiteheads always purge into pustules before subsequently going away? or do they go on their own without a purge of any form? currently doing the water only regimen and my oiliness has most definitely gone down whilst i still have mild acne on my forehead. three weeks in now. my diet is good, i drink plenty of water, etc etc.. god for weeks my face felt slightly irritated though now im quite sure it's drying down. Help? :^) x
  12. Hello everyone, i am 15 years old and i have these very small bumps on my forehead that cannot go away, and i have tried anything. According to what i have read it may be comedonal acne/clogged pores but i´m not sure. There are hundreds of them: they are colorless, and you can only see them when close or when light catches them. It makes me feel extremely anxious and the few times that I could get rid of them, my anxiety levels went down. I used to use face scrubs, but that didn´t seem
  13. Hi! Anyone here using the combination of epiduo and tetralysal? (300 mg x 2 a day) my acne is hormonal, since quitting the bc I've gotten mild to moderate acne. my main problem is clogged pores! They are everywhere! And I squeeze them out everytime because I can't stand them on my face. I also have regular pimples and sometimes cysts. so far I've been on tetralysal for two weeks, I started epiduo a little over a week ago. i haven't seen any improvements yet. My face is worse if anything.
  14. So ive tried the whole dermatologists route and all they have ever done is made my life worse. My skin has been good until recently I went back to the dry desert..my skin got dry and now my cheeks got some clogged pores comedones....im just recovering about 8 months from Accutane which ruined my skin. My regimen consists of washing with water and almond oil as a moisturizer. I bought the Desert Essence tea tree oil face wash but I think it dried my skin out more....so Im trying to figure what ca
  15. Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a long time but this past year, I've been having a lot of problems with these tiny bumps that keep forming on my forehead, cheeks, and on the sides of my face. Right now, I have the most on the side of my face. I have done many research on these bumps on acne.org and other websites and I have yet to find an exact description of the symptoms so I decided to start my own post. So these bumps I've been having, they show a lot when direct sunlight hits it and I
  16. (sorry this is so long ><, links to all the products below) Hi, I've been dealing with my acne since the start of college. I live in the city now, which I reckon can't be good for the skin, but there's not much I can deal with lifestyle-wise. It's been three years and my skin is getting worse as time goes on. So here I am trying to piece together a new regime to follow through on and hopefully see results. As for my skin, pictures speak volumes. my forehead: tons, and i mean
  17. Hi, I usually don't have a lot of acne. I do have blackheads. A few days ago, I suddenly got these bumps on my forehead. They're near my hairline and in a cluster. They are skin colored, unless irritated. They're mainly visible under direct light and at an angle. They are hard but can be squeezed (I tried one unfortunately). They sometimes itch. I don't wear makeup. I usually just use plain soap for washing. I'm also well past my teens. Can someone help identify them so I can buy over the
  18. First off, I am so sorry for constantly asking questions! I'm just kind of freaking out, because I've been reading too much... So, my derm prescribed me Differin 0.3 gel and Clindamycin for comedones and whiteheads on my forehead and cheeks. I am on my third week, and I have noticed a bit of an IB. Sadly, I haven't noticed any changes with the whiteheads/comedones, and I am really worried that the Differin won't help with those, because I've read many people saying that it didn't help them. I
  19. Hi everybody! I need your help. Since I have found this forum I have used a lot of advice and have noticeably improved my skin after 2 months. I have used BP routine and have managed to get rid of all inflammations and reduce red spots on my face, but I still have problems on my chin. Basically, I get A LOT of white pimples on my chin in places where my beard is not too dense yet (between lower lip and chin). They look kinda like whiteheads, but if you squeeze them gently they easily rele
  20. Hello everyone. I’ve been struggling with subclinical acne (comedones) and oily skin for about 10 years now, which have even led me to serious psychological problems. Basically I’ve tried everything possible except to Accutane in these 10 years but nothing gave me significant or stable change. The texture and oiliness is sometimes worse sometimes better, an okay skin period may last for a week but then comes the hell again. These changes have nothing to do with my period. I
  21. Now, it is week 11 of my treatment (and technically week 7 of using adapalene and clindamycin). There hasn't been any major changes. The large pimples I mentioned last time have mostly gone down. There's only one large pimple now and my right cheek has become a bit smoother. Other than that, there's nothing interesting. Also, I forgot to mentioned in the last entry, but I am Asian with medium skin tone that can tan fairly easy. I don't each much junk food as I use to (a bag of chips every
  22. I have stopped trying to buy treatments from shops and dermatologists because I realised they are just not working for me and I don't want to spend a lot of money so I decided to make a baking soda mask using just baking soda and water. I rub the baking soda and water mixture on my face and leave for about 3-5 minutes and then wash off. I'm on day three of using this and I have to say my skin has cleared up extremely. I can't express how much this has worked for my skin and it's so cheap and
  23. I had to run in to my dermatologist for another pricy cortisone shot (my third ever) this week, as a closed comedone on my jaw became very inflamed with no sign of resolving. I told her I had an event in about a month, and did mention I had three other closed comedones on the side of my chin I was trying to get rid of. Hate them – they’re ticking time bombs, no matter how small they look. She told me derms sometimes prescribe prednisone as a quick fix before big events, like proms and weddings,
  24. A few weeks ago I purchased the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation since I'd heard a lot of great things about it; however, I'm beginning to think it might be causing a bit of a breakout on my skin ugh. Not a ton of pimples, but more clogged pores/comedones? especially along my jawline. I read online that this happened to some other people as well and they mentioned it being due to improper cleansing of the skin. I don't think this is the case for me since my toner pads came out clear. I'm not
  25. Hi everyone, so 3 weeks ago my boyfriend graduated from basic training and was in town for 10 days. We fooled around and I ended up taking not one, but two plan b pills in one week. I know I know, I regret it now. Ever since I took them, I've been breaking out steadily. My jawline and around my mouth are covered in both cystic acne and MANY tiny closed comedones and it gets worse every day. I've been using apple cider vinegar, clay masks, and nothing is working. As soon as the old ones go away,
