  1. Hey guys.. I know that some birth controls make acne and therefore oily skin even worse..thanks to Green Gables and the great information! But its been a full month on Ortho Cyclen- which has low androgenic effects and I still have veryyy oily skin and clogged pores. Does this ever change?! Anyone had experiences?! Please!
  2. So ive tried the whole dermatologists route and all they have ever done is made my life worse. My skin has been good until recently I went back to the dry desert..my skin got dry and now my cheeks got some clogged pores comedones....im just recovering about 8 months from Accutane which ruined my skin. My regimen consists of washing with water and almond oil as a moisturizer. I bought the Desert Essence tea tree oil face wash but I think it dried my skin out more....so Im trying to figure what ca
  3. Hey guys! I'm sixteen years old and have been having ongoing acne since I was 13. My acne is light to moderate, although it tends to gradually worsen whenever I try something other than my basic regimen. I went to a dermatologist when I was at the height of the worst acne I ever had at age 14. My doctor said I should lay off moisturizer for a little and use epiduo along with dove beauty bar soap as a cleanser. He said that my acne would dry up and in a couple months I would be able to use moistu
  4. Okay guys so i've had acne for quite a while now. I started getting pimples since around 7th grade, and I've gone to dermatologist two times but failure overtime. My acne is not severe but its definitely taken a huge toll on me. I feel stupid at how i can't resist having a but of acne, i try everyday to have hope and see the bright side but its honestly hard. I definitely retain myself from living a social life because of this. So, i am soo ready to try to get rid of this and live my life to ful
  5. Hey guys, I need some serious advice here. I feel really really silly going to a derm or the doctor for my acne..considering the average person would look at it and say my face is fine. I don't have severe cystic acne, in fact most of my face is clear, but I do have clogged pores on my forehead and chin and some on my cheeks- I can deal with that. What is really making me crazy is the cysts I'm getting. Their SO painful its ridiculous. Mostly on my chin and my forehead- I'm not sure if t

    Help With Cheek Acne

Hi guys I need some help. So I have always been suffering from bumps on my cheek area for the longest time. Bumps where I could literally squeeze out white gunk out that would eventually become a pimple if not extracted. Over the years I've tried different things like topical antibiotics, oral antibiotics, retinols, bp, AHAs. But nothing seems to keep them away except facial extractions. Now I am on 10mg isotretinoin oral a day and they are starting to surface and havin a little initial breakout
  7. (sorry this is so long ><, links to all the products below) Hi, I've been dealing with my acne since the start of college. I live in the city now, which I reckon can't be good for the skin, but there's not much I can deal with lifestyle-wise. It's been three years and my skin is getting worse as time goes on. So here I am trying to piece together a new regime to follow through on and hopefully see results. As for my skin, pictures speak volumes. my forehead: tons, and i mean
  8. Hello everyone, I usually dont do this type of thing but I really need some help and advice. Im an 18 year old male whos a senior in highschool. I'm committed to play college football at a school in Nebraska and I just want to get my skin 100% normal again and get rid of all my acne probelms before I arrive on campus. I have had pretty bad acne breakouts off and on for the past year and a half and has led to alot of post marks and scars that have not gone away. Ive noticed that I have pretty la
  9. my dermatologist told me to stop using moisturizer, as he believes it contributes to my acne. he also gave me an oral antibiotic for my acne and two topicals (one for AM one for PM). my skin has become so dry and though i've quit using the topicals for about two or three days now, my face still feels like sandpaper. should i use a moisturizer, like jojoba oil, or should i listen to my dermatologist?
  10. Hi i've got some issues regarding my Accutane treatment and need some reassurance/advice. I'm almost on to my last month and I'm not to happy. I started treatment with what would be classed as mild to moderate facial acne, some inflamed and a lot of uninflamed under the skin. During month one my face went crazy and turned cystic due to so much activity stuck under the skin. It gradually improved into months 2, 3 and 4 leaving a LOT of scarring and marks. I'm now entering my last mo
  11. Hi everyone, I've been using this site for a long time, and tonight I decided to finally become a member. I truly appreciate the wealth of information, and the support that this community continues to offer to everyone out there struggling with acne. I'm a 20 year old male and my acne has definitely left me with some physical and emotional scars. In fact, thats the topic I'm hoping to get some answers on. I'm pretty positive that these are rolling scars around my mouth, as a result of close

    Day 28

Day 28 - Same as yesterday, I had to wear full coverage make up so I ended up using my dr. jart bb cream. After I took it off, I had 8 more new clogged pores which I picked out. Got out 7 clean and easy and clear, but one of them I broke skin. Its gonna scab. Ugh. dr jart silver label u are horrible. It doesn't last that long either. it looks good for the first 2 hrs. and then it starts cracking. not flaking, but little tiny cracks everywhere, like a dry desert floor. I think my skin oil dissolv
  13. I’m a 19 year old male and I need desperate help in regards to how my face looks... I’ve been trying to get it on track for the past year and have been unable to do so. Very frustrating and my self esteem has really taken a hit. The thing is, I look good from a distance. However, up close I feel/know I look horrible. Here’s my issue: It all happened about a year ago when I got a little bit of acne and starter vigorously using acne products on my face. My face stared to get worse and severely

    My Acne Journey

Hey everyone, i just wanted to share my acne story with you. I don't have much of a story except I've been dealing with acne on and off for most of my adult years, for the past year and a half it has been clear until my husband recently passed away and I've been really depressed, so I'm guessing that's why it's like this, after he died it got really bad and then it healed with some hyperpigmentation left behind of course, but now its just up and down so I'm hoping the Regimen will clear it up an
  15. Hey guys, I need some advice here! I'm super diligent about my ingredients, and using products with little to NO pore clogging ingredients! I use COSDNA to look up everything. But I'm having issues narrowing it down to one moisturizer...I've used both for a bit, and got breakouts with both of them. I'm not sure if it was either one or the cleanser I was using with them, but to be safe I'd like some help at choosing the one with the least chance of breaking me out!! Heres the 2; Neostrata oil

    Clogged Pores

Hey guys, So I'm about 6 weeks on the regimen now, and it's really helped stop the inflamed acne. In the last 2 weeks, I've only had one inflamed spot. I do, however, have a lot of clogged pores on the right side of my cheek, and a few on the left side, and one of them seems to be turning into an inflamed pimple. Are all of these clogged pores going to turn into inflamed acne? I just really don't want to go through another break out, I thought I was done with those after 4 weeks in, when I br

    Forehead Redness

Hi, I am 14 years old and have struggled with light-moderate pimples and acne since I was 12. I was on the Regimen from October 5th, 2014 until mid-January of 2015, which is when I ran out of the Regimen cleanser and the moisturizer. I continued with the Regimen BP, and just purchased my second bottle of it. It did do wonders for my skin, but I still have little clogged pores and blackheads all over my forehead, nose, and chin. I wash my face with Cetaphil Oily Face Wash twice a day, apply BP tw
  18. Bare with me. Its a long story over 8-10 years of knowledge but I hope this helps someone. #Skin RE-CLOGGING ITSELF endlessly My acne slowly slowly started when I was 12 and atm im 22 (first with bumps and pus filled ones and at 20 years oled they were deep big under skin cysts- it was a stressful time w bad relationship/ I ate very much processed food and oils and dairy). At 16 I was on birth control for half a year which didnt help acne and my whole body hated it (depression, low energy, br
  19. Caution: This Water Only regime is suspended from Day14, because I don't have strong believe in "clearing acne" just by water : P Start from 14/04/2015, I have been using Adapalene0.1% everynight, taking medocycline 250mg x2 also Lysozyme 30mg x1 every day and night. Here's the new Adapalene post: but I would still use only water after I'm cured. Background: I'm a guy aged 23 with moderate acne. Before 21 had no acne and I used no products. But right after 21, I star

  21. I have always had clogged pores on my skin. I have tried many things to try and cure it but then it only makes it work. I just leave it alone, but sometimes cystic acne pops up and I don't know what to do about it. This has been going on for almost 2 years and I still don't know what to do. This morning I realized that a pimple popped up. Help?
  22. So i have started a new regimen which seems to be working in reducing my acne (which is mostly just clogged pores) i am not going to tell you what i am using (and taking) until i am sure that it is actually these things for sure that are helping. My original post mentioned that i was trialing Vitamin D however that really wasn't working out so i stopped taking it. If my current regimen keeps working i will post back within a few days so stay tuned. I have taken before and after pics of my new

    Life after acne

Hey guys, I really want to crete a conversation about life after acne (once you cure/temporary fix your acne). This is a topic that is not discussed a lot and i think its important. I have been acne free for 1 year and i no longer have any pigmentation either. I no longer find the need to wear makeup, and i never worry about my skin anymore. I remember when i had acne i was self-conscious and i would tell myself "when i have clear skin i will have no worries." The truth is yes you may not

    Clogged Pores

Hi guys, So I've had clear skin my whole life. At the age of 23, I started developing a few blackheads around my nose. I went in for a facial to get them extracted, and it was literally the worst decision of my life. The facialist was too harsh on my face and left tons of scarring from the extractions, and after the facial, I broke out with tiny little bumps on my right cheek. I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed me a 10% glycolic lotion for the bumps and scarring, however, this j

    Sensitive Skin Issues

So I have sensitive facial skin I discovered over the years after wondering why my facial cleansers caused my face to get super oily and my acne to get worse. I have moved on now to using the Aveeno Active Naturals Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser and a Earth Therapeutics Basics Complexion Pad with my nightly shower and a Neutrogena Naturals Nourishing Multi-Vitamin Night Cream to help my face out. My skin type is sensitive, but not dry or oily, my nose and forehead do get oily, not super oily, bu
