  1. So today I'm having a better day !! hallelujah! !! I decided that the differin -even though it's like ,% may be too strong for me.. I'm very fair skinned & burn easily as is so I decided to cut back on it to every second day I woke up with 4 spots today like the white head on the surface ones and they were small so who cares? ? I think I won't skip it again though .. I'm going to mi it with a moisturiser every second night I also went to clinique I was looking at the anti blemish rang
  2. I started thinking that maybe my last post was a little spammy so I'm just gonna say real quick that I am in no way affiliated with Clarisonic or any distributor. I've been lusting after one for about a year now and scored a good Black Friday deal lol so that being said - DANG! It has been so cool and dry in SoCal lately, my skin will not stop looking red and peeling! I don't want to kick Triretnoin from my regimen so I decided I'm going to back off the Clarisonic a little bit and only do it
  3. PROGRESS Two weeks ago (Day 154) I reported that the left side of my face was very clear while the right side was still "catching up". I have not had any [major] pimples on the left side of my face since writing that. The right side of my face has since had a pretty ugly breakout 1-2 big-sized pimples that are still healing.. One of them is a real eye sore, right in the middle of my cheek. It's in the middle of drying out right now. For once though, I don't even care. It doesn't bother me. I ke
  4. Okay. I just need to vent a little here. I apologize in advance. WHY is my skin doing this? The initial clearing was absolutely a tease. There's this decently-sized red bump on my cheek and whiteheads on both my forehead and cheeks. This is so uncool. I have to admit that yes, my skin is getting less inflamed and these breakouts will heal like the rest, but goodness this is saddening. Especially without the aid of face makeup. I can't stop looking at my skin. Look at my photo
  5. okay so ive been getting a lot of questions from people asking what i use exactly and when so here it is My regimen is: Wash face with a mild clinique soap Pat dry with clean towel Clean off dirt and whatnot with neutrogena daily cleansing wipes Pat dry Apply clyndamycin on my face, (I have the alcohol based one though, I heard it works better than the cream/gel) Wait for my skin to absorb it Use the neutrogena rapid something 3-1 moituriser As I go through my day I use the clyndamyc
  6. During my many years struggling with mild cystic acne and after seeing many different Dermatologists, who put me on many different medications (including Accutane), I discovered that I must be the one to resolve my acne. If I was ever going to manage my acne, I must be proactive and study my skin in order to understand my acne disease process. So I began reading all I could about the skin and what role it plays with the body. Then I systematically examined my skin, trying to figure out what w
  7. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has tried any of the Clinique foundations and what you thought of them. I'm especially interested in the Redness Solutions liquid foundation. It seems to have really good reviews! Any opinions on this?
  8. Ultimately I don't believe that Salicylic Acid nor Benzoyl Peroxide is my skin's cup of tea. My face was not having it, and so last night I washed my face with the Paula's Choice Pore Normalizing Cleanser... which I literally just read has Triclosan in it (antibacterial - but can ultimately lead to super germs). Umm, definitely swapping out that cleanser.. Continuing on, I used some pure witch hazel and some of this toner that I concocted (manuka honey, green tea, tea tree oil, and lemon)
  9. Lately, I've been thinking about changing up the products I use. I currently use the Clinique 3-step Acne treatment, and although it cleared most of my acne, I still have many scars (ice pick) and my skin was definitely affected by the chemicals. I was thinking about changing to something more natural. For example, I've heard about African black soap? Basically I'm looking for products that will maintain my clear skin but also clear my scars. I've heard that vitamin c serum helps in healing scar
  10. Hi everyone, Horrible, horrible skin, have an appointment next month with a dermatologist at the hospital after 2 years of trying GP prescribed duac, skinoren, then duac again, and lymecyclin. Currently using Duac, but I heard about Clinique Anti-Blemish 3-step system and I went and bought it at the weekend. The lady said she didn't know anything about Duac though, and couldn't advise me on using the two together - told me to take this instead of duac for a 2 week trial period. I said,
  11. Hey Everyone, I decided - after a few failed attempts with other methods - to start the regime. I will be using drugstore products that I will list below. I'm starting this blog so that anyone reading can share their experience with the regime or good drugstore products I might not have listed. I'd also love to hear any tips and tricks you might have in approaching treatment. About 3 years ago I ordered Dan's products, which are awesome. Great price, large quantities, and for the most
  12. I have mild and sometimes moderate acne. Lately I have been researching the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush or the Clarisonic Mia 2. Both of these devices are quite a bit of money so I want to get all my facts straight before I make a big purchase. Right now I'm leaning towards the Mia 2 but I want reviews or suggestions from real acne sufferers before I go with this decision. Most of the video reviews I have been watching are made by people who do not have to deal with acne so I
  13. Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone ever tried Clinique's line of makeup before? I want to start wearing powder foundation because my derm told me powder is better than liquid...so, who knows? I never tried powder foundation before, so I'm going to try it out. Which kind did you try and how did it work for you? Side note: I have veryyyy oily skin. Seriously, you could see the droplets of oil on my nose!!! and of course I am acne-prone and I have scarring (both red marks and dented).
  14. Before, I only had hormonal pimples but since I started using clinique acne solutions, I broke out so much that I didn't want to look at my face in the mirror anymore. It's making me depress. People also ask me what happened to my face and I dont know what to say. Please help me. I don't know what to do anymore. Should I stop using clinique? What should I use to clean my face?
  15. I have dark marks/scars so I was thinking the Even Better Liquid Foundation, but I also struggle with redness, so then I was thinking Redness Solutions. Then, I was thinking about the Superbalanced one, because it supposedly balances oiliness and dryness and has a Natural Matte finish which I prefer to the Natural finish of the other 2 because my skin is pretty oily. Does anyone have experience with these? Or an opinion on which I should choose? Thanks
  16. Hi guys, Firstly can I say how good this forum is and how good it feels to be able to talk with other people who know how it feels to suffer from breakouts and acne. Basically you guys I suffered bad skin since a teenager. From 16-18 I grew out of it but every few months I would get a really bad breakout. I started using Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser for Dry Combination to Normal Skin Types 150ml and it worked. It didn't really dry my skin out or irritate it and it didn't leave me too oi
  17. So I have recently been using Clinique's soap bar and I just finished it 2 days ago. I started using Cetaphil cleanser and lotion and now I have these horrible active spots on my cheeks. It doesnt seem to clean my skin as well, it doesnt foam or nothing. I have never broke out this bad since starting the treatment, just when I thought things were going well. I still have that nasty big spot on my jawline from last week, its not going!! what should i do? I have also had a craving for chocolate
  18. From the album: My Journey through Sronyx + Acanya + Doxycycline + Yasmin (and Vi Peel) + Retin-A 0.025 + Differin 0.3% + 1% Clindamycin 5% Benzol Peroxide

I can't believe it's only been 4 months. I feel like it's been longer! As you can see, there's a definite difference from 4 months ago: no more new pimples or cysts. I had a horrible reaction to Sronyx birth control. I started off with using over the counter products: Clinique face bar, Clinique face toner for acne, 10% benzoyl peroxide, Origins charcoal face mask...EVERYTHING. Nothing was working the way I wanted it to. I went to the derm, and she put me back on Yasmin, Doxycyline, Acanya gel,
  19. I havent been wearing make-up much since my skin has been clear, I figured its better not to. Id still like something for special occasions or when Im getting photographed. BB and cc creams are pretty new on the market, I like the idea of cc creams because they are lighter and have spf and supposedly can fade spots over time and improve skin texture. Sounds awesome but Im concerned about break-outs. I wouldnt be wearing it every day but, you know... Ive heard really good things about Cliniqu
  20. Hello All! My name is Nicole. I have been battling acne since as long as I can remember. When i was around 13-14 years old, I would get a zit here and there, but come 18 years old, it was full blown cystic acne. I have tried all the cleansers, and creams and toners. I have also gone on BCP, Antibiotics, Spiro. They all helped in some way but it was never a lasting effect. I have recently started the regimen a little over a month ago using alternative store bought products. Cetaphil as my
  21. Hi guys! I'm currently using Clinique Acne Solutions bar soap in the morning and have been for a good 3 years. It definitely has cleared my skin. However, I'm trying to swich to a gentler cleanser, like Cetaphil or CeraVe because I just think it's time and I'm also almost done my bar. I'm just asking you guys for some feedback: how did you effectively switch cleansers without breaking out that bad?

    The Dairy Queen

Had a bad day yesterday, food-wise. I managed to avoid the cheesecake I'd made for my relatives, but gave way and had some cream with my fruit. Also had two cups of tea with milk and some cheese in my lunch. It was like a dairy festival. By the evening I had three new lumps - nothing dramatic, they were not even like fully-formed pimples and I've blitzed them with Differin already - but still. Although there's always a chance that something else caused them, I feel that dairy is the likely culpr
  23. My acne is finally FINALLY starting to come under control after 9 weeks on Epiduo. Now I may be rushing ahead a bit but I'm really excited about wearing make-up again, especially to cover up all those post-acne red marks and scarring. I'm looking to buy something that is a quality product that most definitely won't clog my pores and won't break me out. I used to use quite cheap make-up (Avon £10 per foundation) and I fully believe this contributed towards my acne. So I want something good and I'
