  2. Just went to a doctor and he says it looks like I'm suffering from an allergic reaction due to either retin-a or clindamycin. He reccomended I stop using both medications. Benadryl and prednisone for a few days in order to control the itching on my neck and wrists! I found out in deficient in vitamin D and many have said these supplements greatly helped their acne so here I go! Just purchased vitamin d3 with calcium. Working on changing my diet as well

    Am I allergic ??

Since I've been on this regimen I've had a rash on my wrist which I think came from sleeping on my arms and it hasn't gone away (started 7 weeks ago) I am constantly itchy and my neck is still breaking out itchy even though I don't apply any medicines to that area.. Debating if I should stop using...
  4. Hi everyone! I just made a profile and decided to start a blog about my acne. I think it'll be a good way to reflect on what I'm going through and track my progress. I haven't decided yet if I'll put pictures up of my skin, maybe in a few weeks when (hopefully) I've improved a little bit. I'll start with a description of me and my skin, but I'll put it in the blog description as well for any newcomers once the blog has gotten longer. I'm 20 years old, female. I go to school at a small colle

    6 week update

6 weeks on retin-a and clindamycin regimen.. Not working keep breaking out next to my nose and cheek area. The weather is getting warmer and I have to hide inside the house since sun exposure is not recommended on this medicatio. This better be worth it because boy am I getting depressed from sitting in...
  6. Summer is coming and the situation is not fine, so I decided to change my regimen for the last time. If the situation doesn't change, I will stop to use all these stupid creams. My new regimen: Every day (twice a day) I will use a Cleanser with 1% of Benzoyl Peroxide Every Morning I will apply a moisturizer (Sebium Hydra) For the nights: twice a week I will apply clindamycin 1% gel three times a week I will apply tretinoin 0.05% twice a week I will apply Sebium Global (a cream with
  7. Well, obviously week 1 has been hell. My face is freaking out on the BP. I am only using it as a spot treatment, but my skin is SO sensitive anyway that in the places that I have been spot treating it has been either breaking out more or is SO exremely red that I have to wear makeup during the day so it doesn't look like I got punched in the face. I'm hoping that at least by the third week my acne will be subsiding and so will this redness, I can't take it much longer. I'm very impatient and I a
  8. Hi I’m Kelly and I’ve been recently struggling with an acne problem I thought was resolved :(. I have been taking minocyline for the past 3 months and recently was taken off of it by my derm. Also, I was on trentinoin .05% and clindamycin 1% gel along with the minocyline. I am still on the prescription gels however upon coming off the pill a week or two ago my face has consistently gotten worse breaking out. Shouldn’t the gels be preventing that? Will this get better with them or should I ask to
  9. From the album: My Journey through Sronyx + Acanya + Doxycycline + Yasmin (and Vi Peel) + Retin-A 0.025 + Differin 0.3% + 1% Clindamycin 5% Benzol Peroxide

It's almost been a year since I went to a dermatologist to get my acne under control, and I'm so so glad I did. Progress takes time, and it couldn't be more true than in this instance. Here's what has happened in the last few months, since there is a pretty big gap in between my last post: DOXYCYCLINE: Doxycycline, although I'm sure was helping my skin, turned out to be a killer instrument in destroying my intestines, and I'm sure my liver. I was getting what I call stomach panic attacks
  10. Hey to everyone, I haven't been on here in a while. I have been really busy with my school work. I finally acheived clear skin during the summer 2014. I was put on Epiduo in February and Clindamycin gel in May. It took up until May for my skin to finally start clearing up and it kept getting better from there. It didn't stop breaking out until the middle of May I think. The clindamycin gel played a part in that because I can't use any other face washes besides cetaphil gentle skin wash b
  11. Okay, so this is my first post on here. I've had issues with acne since I was around 12 or so. I used to develop these really big painful ones all over my nose. I ended up being prescribed birth control for that by my doctor when I was 14 or so. That really seemed to calm them down a lot. I never was completely clear as I always got a couple every once in a while, but I was happy. It was good enough for me at that point. Time went on and I ended up quitting the pill last year in June 2013 wh
  12. Hello, I am a 20 year old male. I never had terrible acne throughout my early/middle teen years (probably because I was a "late bloomer") but started developing moderate acne when I was 18. I was prescribed epiduo and doxycycline at that time and cleared up in 2.5 months. 7 months later it all came back. I tried doxy again but it appeared that my acne didn't respond this time. After trying various other OTC treatments I decided to go back to the doctor and try something else. I was told to give

  14. Hey everybody, I've been on Clindamycin Phosphate 1%, Minocycline 80mg 1x Day, and BP Fash Wash 5% for a week now (all in the morning). So far, the only things I've noticed is that my face is much more red, and I've had an initial breakout. My chin and jawline just has multiple whiteheads compared to the 1 or two it had prior to the medication, and my forehead is still with small, bumpy pink acne spots. Is it common to experience an initial breakout with these products? PS: I take V
  15. Hey everyone! I've been tracking my skin for more than a year now, and I finally have the skin I've been dreaming of (REGULAR NORMAL SKIN haha). I thought I'd post my progress and gallery here, hoping it might help anyone who was on the same journey or has had similar side effects. Things I went through, got rid of, or kept forever: Yasmin Differin 0.3% Retin-A 0.025 Doxycycline 100 mg Sronyx 1% Clindamycin 5% Benzol Peroxide Acanya First Aid Ultra repair Cream
  16. Hi everyone, I recently came across acne.org now that I am really struggling with my acne. I'll give some background information before I start. My acne really erupted and became terrible 2 years ago when I was 18-19 yrs old. It came to the point where nothing was helping and I had given up. Eventually on its own my skin had started to heal, although i was left with tremendous scarring all over my face. After some time my breakouts lessened and weren't as bad as they used to be. I was using
  17. I'm on my third week of Differin .1 + Clindamycin, and I thought I'd write about my experience so far, which has been... well, not good, not bad. I'm used to treatments either working immediately, or breaking me out to all hell (also immediately), so this has been a weird limbo experience for me. Week 1: (Used Differin .1 every third night, Clindamycin every morning and night.) Don't know if this was an initial breakout or just a reaction to a night of heavy drinking, but I somehow got a t
  18. I have been using duac (5% benzoyl peroxide and 1.2% clindamycin) for 2 months already. My acne decreased but there are still a lot of pimples and I really cannot see significant changes. I am thinking to follow dan's regimen so I plan to switch to benzac which active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide as well (but no clindamycin). Do you guys think that I will experience another purging or breakout once I switch even though they are both benzoyl peroxide. I don't want another purging.
  19. Hi all, I've been using clindamycin twice daily (morning and before bed) and retin-a (Trentonin, before bed) once a day, and towards the end of the school day I always seem to get greasy looking and very red looking skin. I understand the greasy looking part, but is there any reason I should be experiencing redness more than TWO months after beginning treatment?
  20. Does Clindamycin Phosphate Gel help fade red acne marks/inflammatory acne, or is it used for other types of acne? I use Tazorac at nighttime and it works really well to reduce redness overnight, but as SOON as I wash my face and apply Clindamycin, it ruins everything. I will say it DOES work for clearing up whiteheads on my forehead (my forehead is almost 100% clear im so happy ) ...but for my cheeks it just makes it this awful blood-red color, plus this horrendous itching that won't go aw
  21. Hi, I have suffered from moderate to severe acne since I was 13 and now I'm 21. I've tried different over the counter products such as products from the Proactiv, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear and Clearasil line. In the last four years, I have been acne free (I tried once to stop using my medication and I immediatly got acne again) and I wanted to share my routine with everyone. Gender: female Age: 21 ethnicity: south asian acne type: moderate to severe; on both cheeks, chin, jaw, upper lip and f
  22. Okay so I might sound like a douche with this, but bear with me because I know there have to be others like this. So naturally I'm very good looking (again not trying to be a tool) but i've suffered with acne and it almost makes it worse because when I look in the mirror and know that I could be good looking again if I could just clear up the acne (btw I'm an 18 yr old male freshman in college). I feel unlucky because I walk around college and think, "Great, no one in college has acne, it's a hi
  23. Hey guys My regimen (listed below) has gotten me clear for the most part (I can handle the odd white head from stress/late-night rehearsal/alcohol) but my skin texture without makeup is really awful on my chin - where my acne has been concentrated for the most part. I only use Differin every other night or so, but I feel like it has done nothing to improve my red marks and I feel like it's turned into teeny-tiny rolling scars. It's really only evident when I smile, but my chin feels bumpy, r
  24. Hey guys. So I made this account because after two years of struggling with prescription acne meds, nothing has significantly improved. I currently use a Clyndamycin lotion and a .1% Retin-A cream, at day and night respectively. I also use Aczone cream for spot treating, and use a Neutrogena Acne Wash Redness Soothing day and night. However, i still get frequent whiteheads and i have lots of red spots from previous pimples that have not disappeared, especially in the cheek region below the eyes.
