  1. Hi everyone! im new here and hoping to get all my questions answered. lol I'm so excited to get my acne.org in the mail and i am impatiently waiting. I am also planning on getting the clarisonic,I don't know if its ok to use it with the cleanser from the regimen? because it says use the cleanser for less than 10 seconds. Im thinking of using a different moisturizer for daytime use just cause i want to have something that has spf in it. any suggestions? thanks! )
  2. Comedogenic: Tending to produce or aggravate acne. This post lists comedogenic ingredients and products containing those ingredients above a certain threshold. This is the BAD LIST of what to avoid in your skin care products. If you want the good list of non-comedogenic products, see this alternate post. This is purely informational. I am not making any blanket statements concerning any particular product. Use this post to inform yourself. What you choose to slather on your face is your o
  3. Hi guys, Another day, another dollar. I'm currently at work on a Friday afternoon and thought hmmm I haven't updated my "blog" in a while. Obviously when we have a breakout, we jump onto google/acne.org in the hopes of finding an answer. I'm just going to paste my skincare routine from my prev blog entry & then add some notes. This is less boring then reading paragraphs. Just to update you though, my acne has now shifted from my cheeks (relieved not to have to deal with constant cysts) -
  4. Acne journey hahahahaha goin on roacctuanne dont care anymore now. Has to be done.been on salosylic acid . tripmethoprim benzyol, clindamycin, minocycline. Azealic acid.
  5. Can I use a facial cleanser with sodium laureate sulphate? What does SLS do for the skin? And a lot of people suggest CeraVe facial cleanser but if you check the ingredients, it contains parabens. I really want to try this new cleanser but it contains SLS so can I still use it? (I have oily acne prone skin)
  6. Hi so i have alot of cleansers that i have bought but they either make it worse or dont work. Thanks god i have found one that actually works now but i dont know what to do with all the old one what can i use/do with those cleansers do you have any idea?? Thanks for reading!
  7. I am 17 years old and been on Accutane twice. The first round I cleared up pretty well for about 6 to 7 months and started to breakout just as bad as before Accutane. During this time I had used over the counter gentle cleansers and moisturizers but nothing to really treat my acne. I just finished my 2nd round of Accutane in May and Ive noticed that Im already starting to breakout again like the 1st time. Everytime I ask my dermatologist she starts me off with the same products and eventually pu
  8. I have recently come to the conclusion that otc cleansers and toners and moisturizers, dont do well with my skin , i have tried quite a few , neutrogena, clean and clear , even cetaphil . After a trip to the derm , she had me using revison skin care cleanser, toner and moisturizer ,thy worked like no other but the prices were killing me -cleanser-20 dollars, toner-22, moisturizer-45.00.... so i decided it was too much money and it was putting the biggest dent in my purse, after a few months off
  9. Hello, I'm looking for a cleanser with no chemicals/irritating ingredients. I've tried a bunch of drugstore cleansers, including Cetaphil which a lot of people recommend, but I did not like it at all. I felt it wasn't cleaning my face at all and within the same day or the next I noticed a bunch of red bumps all over my face, so I never used it again. My acne is moderate I think?...I don't have cystic acne, just normal pimples which can be painful and really red. Also my skin is really oily bu
  10. Hi there, Just as a foreword, I am a 25 year old male, and have extremely erratic bouts of acne. I was mostly clear in my teens, and even through college, with the occasional pimple every now and then. Strangely enough, my acne didn't kick into full gear until around 23. The following post will be a description on my recent experimentation with a more holistic approach of diet and elimination to see how it affects the severity and frequency of acne on my face/body. As this is my fi
  11. Hi everyone, So at the moment I have moderate acne happening on my skin. I am in between cleansing products before the toner I used before (BodyShop SeaWeed Toner) is too strong for me that it burns and stings when applying it. As we speak, I am feeling stinging (on the sides of my cheeks) and warmth on my face. Not much presence of redness though. I don't know what to do I wanna wash my face or something. This has been happening for two days now. Can anyone help?
  12. Hey guys, I'm on Dan's regimen and it's working really great for me. I was using the Dove Beauty Bar for Sensitive Skin and still getting breakouts (although they were much smaller and less frequent!) so I thought I should switch over to Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I was at the store and picked up some Cetaphil cleanser but unfortunately it was for "Normal to oily skin". I used it anyway thinking it wouldn't be a problem and I really love what it's done for my acne. A few old breakouts cleare
  13. I know you're probably tired of these kinds of threads, but I'm about to change my skincare routine, and I thought I'd run some of these products by you to get your opinions. I have mild/moderate acne, but have been quite unkind to (that is, neglectful of) my skin for the past few years, so I don't know if it's sensitive – but it does get oily, so I don't want anything that will exacerbate that. Here's the list I've come to after a lot of review-reading: Cleanser: Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wa
