  2. I'm 20 years old and I've had pretty normal skin most of my life, with a pimple here and there every once in a blue moon. However, back in January of 2012 but skin went on a crazy ride. I started breaking out everywhere. It was always very red, inflamed and ugly. I went to a derm and I didn't like what she put me on so I stopped. I went back to my old cleansing habits and a few months later my acne subsided. It would flare up every once in a while; but nothing like it did in January. Well this y
  3. I wanted to post here because I've battled with acne for over 10 years. I always wondered why my skin was breaking out. I tried accutane 8 years ago with great results, and it permanently got rid of some acne but most of it came back. A couple months ago, I drastically increased my water intake simply with a focus to be more healthy. I drink about 8 liters of water a day. I buy organic lemons and squeeze 1-2 lemons throughout the day and add it to my water. I started to eat less junkfood and go
  4. Hey everyone, I wanted to drop by to offer my brief experience with acne treatments, and what worked for me! I've lurked here from time to time but wanted to make an account to post this. I've never had cystic acne, maybe mild to moderate at times depending on what I ate. Any time digestion gets bogged down it seemed like spots were sure to follow. So for the most part I've been eating a de-facto vegan diet for the past few years about 99% of the time. I don't consider myself vegan or have e

19 Days After Using Persa Gel 10

From the album: Persa gel 10 Benzoyl peroxide

I took this picture today (September 27th) and my skin broke out some more. Ugh. But those white spots are actually small pimples that have come to a head so I guess that is a good thing. do you think my skin is getting better, is the same, worse, or I still need to give it some time? This Tuesday makes 3 weeks and since then I don't know if it has gotten better or worse.
  6. Hey, So I like bread . . . I mean, I Iove the stuff. From what I have read everyone says to stop eating bread. Why is this? Is there any bread that is "good" for you? Thanks so much.
  7. hello everyone i have recently gone to my local supermarket and bought myself a big bottle of head and shoulders shampoo, after seeing a topic that was posted on this site some years ago saying that it cleared their mild acne, so i though maybe it will clear mine!? it seems to dry my skin a little and it feels tight asif maybe its tightened all of my pores? today is day 3 of washing my face with it once in the morning and once at night and i have had no new breakouts so far and my skin is soo
  8. Many ppl tell me to use facial scrubs to clear all the dead skin cell or what not to help prevent breakin out. but.... once i do a wash, my skin just gets so dry that it makes more dead skin cells and actualy cloggs my pores even more, because my skin gets so dry and it flaks out. Then i apply a moisterizer ,but it actualy get worse too , ahahhaha. Don't know if I'm right, but dead skin cell or dirt + oil or any moisterizer = pimples ( because it cloggs the pores) thats what happens to
  9. Hey everybody, I am looking for a very sheer makeup that doesn't break me out. I have sensitive skin and I am currently on the regimen. Basically just looking for something to give me a little more evenness without cakeyness. I just seen a commercial for the brand Covergirl Clean Sensitive Skin and so I hurried and went on to their website and this makeup is fragrance and oil free, noncomedogenic, and nonacnegenic... Sounds perfect! but just need some comments from anybody who has wore this make

  11. Hello! For the past year or two I have been trying to tackle my acne using The Regimen and other acne products containing salicylic acid. I have come to the conclusion that although these products have helped me get 95% clear, they're really harsh and drying on my skin - especially anything containing salicylic acid and BP. I've narrowed down that my acne was down to having oily skin due to not moisturising (my skin was overcompensating for the oil I stripped from it) and now that I do m

    Frenchsoap Cleared My Acne

SO....There is this fantastic french soap called Savon De Marseille and i'v been fortunate enough to have discovered this soap thanks to my dad....and i just want to say that i'm honestly in love with it. Iv been using it for my face for a while.. I have combination, acne prone skin and since iv been using it my face has been in the best condition...the soap does not dry you out its actually very moisturizing depending on why type you get. Its not harsh at all and Its vegan, made with olive oil
  13. Hey, I know that everybody is different, but is there any solid advice that should help at least to a small degree with everyone? It is so rare to find a post on this board where people agree about different things. I was just wondering if there is any advice that serves for all people and their scars. Such as take a certain type of vitamin (maybe vitamin c, zinc, alpha lipoic acid, etc.) . Stay out of the sun (while healing) (I am not sure if this makes a difference - does it?). Exe
  14. Hey, How many of you use an umbrella to protect your face from the sun? I have been thinking about using one. Does anyone here use one for this reason? If so, do you have any tips or brands that you may recommend. Maybe somehting that I should look for when I buy one? Thanks so much!

    Breaking Out On Your Cheek?

Do you sleep on your side? How often do you clean your pillow case? Try to change it after two nights or if possible every night. Oil and dirt build up on the pillow so just imagine laying your face on that every night. Good luck and healthy skin! Ask away regarding this or any other problems!
  16. Hello everyone. I'm new here and just made an account because i've read some of these posts and this seems a good place to ask this question. I am 22 year old male and I have had acne pretty much since I hit puberty. It stopped for a while in my late teens but recently became horrible, with cysts. It was so bad at one point that I went to the dermatologist and he almost immediately said I should go on accutane because it was so bad. I refused because I don't want that in my body and have read th
  17. Hey, I was wondering if it is better to wipe the sweat from my face with a rag/towell/something or if it is better to leave the sweat on my face. Does it make a difference? Thanks!
  18. Yo guys, first post here so please forgive me if I'm not posting in the right place or whatever. Not going to bore you with my acne story because you're on this site to find solutions, not my life story. Straight to the point I don't consider my acne severe enough to start the Acne.org regimen so I am looking at building my own. Just wondering if I choose to use a face wash with 2% Salicylic acid, would it still be beneficial to also use a leave on salicylic exfoliator/toner/spot treatment o
  19. Hey, What's up everyone? I am just wondering how many of you have used TCA peels for your shallow scars and got results from it. I am talking about any results even 5%. I would like to know where you got the peels and what percentage it was. Maybe even how many times that you applied it. I would also like to know if the results last. I was looking at the MUAC testimonials and it looks like TCA peels can be pretty good on shallow scarring. I am not sure if I can believe the photos though
  20. Hello everyone. I just thought I would get it out there as a search turned up nothing. I recently broke out like crazy! not as bad as I was before the regimen 1 1/2 years ago, but it was definatly bad enough to have me worried. I had no idea what caused it, ramping up my dosage of BP was helping but it was slow, and still is, but something has actually helped and is speeding my recovery up. I hate to admit this but recently I found mould/mildew around the crevecis of my windows in my
  21. Hey everyone! Does anyone know a good way to clean out your pores of whiteheads and sebum, once they've reached a head? I steam my face sometimes if I am home from college or get extractions done. However, I can't do these things while I'm living on campus.

I'm so proud that I've finally figured out my skin. 23. Hey everyone Ok so I've been struggling with acne for a few years now but it's gotten to its lowest point. I am so afraid that it will get worse! I did the idiotic thing of combining lots of undiluted tea tree oil with EXTREMELY old aloe vera gel and basically got a horrible rash. My skin was raw but it healed fast with some NEW aloe vera gel. I still wanted to clear up my skin because I had had quite enough! Another wise choice coming up........I decided to slab on so many creams and chemic
