  1. Sooo.. just thought I'd use this as a place to track everything I'm doing for my skin. If I log, maybe I'll stay on track! Was doing low gi for a few weeks, my skin was getting so much better. Also started juicing a bit and taking extra supplements... until my best friends bday last week and my bfs bday a couple of days ago. Today, I now have about 6 new zits that just sprouted overnight. Could've been anything really.. lIquor, cookies, burgers, brownies, pizza, etc. I'm starting new
  2. I really believe low stomach acid and vitamin + mineral deficiencies are a serious part of acne. I have been doing the oxy powder cleanse and getting liquid stools. I have far less bloating since doing these supplements. I took chromium with my baked beans, which would probably normally spike my blood sugar. But I also took ACV, cause I haven't received my HCL pills. My skin was clearing up a little, except for these weird deep bumps on my left jaw/cheek. I was craving them. Been really cr
  3. How's it going everybody! Well, I'm new to participating in this community (long time reader and site-surfer) and I need to figure something out. Recently, about 2 weeks ago, I adopted an entirely new diet; one that I hope will assist with finding the real underlying reason for my acne. A little bit of background: I've had acne since I was 13 years old - I'm 18 now and heading into college (I'm a guy by the way). At first it was mild/slightly moderate with occasional inflamed pimples. I went
  4. Can I take chromium and zinc at the same time? Or do they have the same receptors in the body. Like Copper and Zinc. So no Chromium will be absorbed because they compete about the same receptors. ?????? Tanx!
  5. Hey guys....this is the first time I've posted here but i'm just so happy with the success of my Acne Cure Plan that i just HAD to share it with other people... Firstly, my name's Vanessa, I'm 18 and i live in Australia. My acne started in year 9 and continued until the end of year 12 until i went on this amazing plan and got rid of it for good I know that some of you have heard of Dr Dubrow and his book, "The Acne Cure". I was heaps skeptical when i first read it but i was desperate and so
  6. I continue to research and try to get answers just like any of you, I believe that one day we WILL find the answer to our problem. I truely believe that our solution is NATURAL rememdies. I really feel that chemicals will make our problems worse. Just My Opinion.. I went to a few websites today.. I found one such as www.blessedherbs.com ..It is important that we continue our mission. You guys are great, and this site acne.org is truely a blessing. I dont know what I would do without it.. Keep
  7. Hi Everyone, I am on accutane for a month now. I am taking HGH (Human Growth Hormones) for my body. It has Chromium GTF,L-Arnithine,L-Argentine, L-Gultamine,L-Glycine, Pituitary(Anterior)PwD...... and something something...... I never had severe acne , even now it is mild to moderate in nature but the doctor says its cystic so she has put me on low dose of accutane( 20mg/day).The acne is going up and down........ I would really like to know that taking HGH (Human Growth Hormones) causes acn
  8. The Short Version: Chromium is an essential trace mineral, and a deficiency can result in blood sugar problems and subsequently, acne. There are two major ways in which our body can become chromium deficient: -Excess Refined Carbohydrates/Sugars -Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance Celiac Disease/Gluten Intolerance/Excess Refined Carbohydrates => Chromium Deficiency => Hyperglycaemia => Impaired Glucose Metabolism => Raised Blood Sugar Levels => Excess Insulin => Increased
  9. Hi, any feedback on the following (to those who have tried it?) 1. Parasitic cleanse 2. Vitamin D 3. Seabuckthorn oil 4. Zinc + Chromium So, I've done much of my research, and it seems that these 3 "solutions" seem to have the most potential. I'm currently contemplating to just get ahead with Accutane, but I am fearful of the negative side effects, and have been down the holistic route previously. What I've tried previously: 1. Raw Food Diet (9 months NO cheating) - Lost so much weight... an
  10. so i have this bottle of pills not even meant for acne but its like vitamin pills and i was wondering if the ingredients in it would be good for acne. i was going to get acnepril but heard some bad stuff about it so i plan on returning it or canceling my order but not if these pills are bad too. so here are the ingredients, just tell me if you think they sound good. thank you. Serving Size is 1 pill. i plan on taking 2 a day. morning and night. Vitamin A: 2500 IU (50% daily val.) 20% as be
  11. OK. So I'm starting a holistic log, but I need to start by saying that I have been virtually grain, lectin, and dairy free for almost two months and I still have pimples. In fact, my skin is every bit as bad (maybe worse?) as it was when I was on topical BP following the regimen, which isn't that bad but I have lots of hyperpigmentation and several ugly pimples on my face. Always. My chest usually has one or two pustules on it and tons of blackheads but it mostly looks bad because I have int
  12. I'll try to keep this short. Basically, I have been prescribed doryx for awhile, and it works pretty well depending on what other treatments I'm combining with it. I was sick about a month ago and was prescribed a z-pack, which didn't completely fix me. My dad suggested I double my 150 mg of doryx until I'm better, which I did. It helped me get better, and my skin improved. Fast forward a couple weeks, I have surgery on my shoulder. I still have some doryx and am taking it, but I run out
  13. New years is almost here, and I am 18, a virgin, loved by many, but don't love myself as much as I fake it! I want to love me as everyone else does! You feel me!? My acne use to be so much worse, but I'm still not clear! I got acne at 14, and now I am 18, with acne and kp (chicken skin)! This is what I want to look like everyday!!! = I have done some research, and then used common logic and reasoning. I mean grains if not processed would not be eaten. I mean goog

  15. Hi, sorry to make a whole thread for this but I couldn't find anywhere else to post it. This is my supplement routine, I'm just wondering if I'm doing it properly... taking the correct supplements with and without food, and at the right time between meals, etc. Or if some are better taken in the morning vs. night or vice versa. Let me know if there's anything I could change and why. Wake up, take Chromium GTF (with Vanadium) Drink ACV with distilled water -30 minutes- Eat breakfast/snac
  16. my skin is dry and not oily but I have consistent acne usually 1 cyst through out the month at some point and various other little blemishes. I've had acne since I was 14 and I am now 21 while it is mild... it is still consistent so here's my regime -no dairy ( I cheat and get a little pimple around my mouth or sometimes cyst on my cheek) -I use SLS free vegan vegetable based cleansers for all my hair, skin ect, -I wash my face only at night and sometimes I only use water -Aloe Vera and T
  17. Hey everyone, so after getting rid of my acne i have noticed severe tight skin and the feeling of dryness and irritation in my skin. When i looked in the mirror my skin looked glowing and good so i was very confused. 1 week ago i started to take a chromium supplement and i noticed that my face sometimes just felt like it was burning , i thought it was because of the weather but it wasn't. I kept using alot of olive oil to try and moisturize but nothing seemed to help. THen i decided to try not t
  18. What up kids. So I'm really thinking about going on a second round of Accutane. I took my first round from late September to late January (4 months) for moderate to severe cystic acne. Gross. I forgot what the dosage was. I just know I was taking two pills a day. So it was at least 40 mg, but probably more. It may have been 60 mg a day? Anyways, it worked wonders and my face stayed clear from late January up until August. Right before I left for college. Then it started to slowly creep back. I

Well maybe not at square one - at least I can go out this time round without scaring young children. No kidding I had severe cystic acne last year and children were terrified of my swollen, red, crusty face. Freakin Horrible. So according to

  22. For the most part thanks to my regime, my skin is generally clear, though oily- my problem is that I tend to break out in a large cyst (sometimes as big as a dime or nickel) on my chin area every 2 weeks or so. Then I will be completely clear for another two weeks then one or two at most will appear again. The longest I've been without a chin breakout has been 1 month. I've also cut out dairy (over 6 months), but it doesn't seem that affective. Why am I breaking out like this? I am a male btw a

  24. In high school I wasnt overweight just a little chubby, I lost almost 20 lbs between my junior and senior year . When I was fatter my skin was fine, hardly wore any makeup, only broke out once a month during my cycle, and woulod use things like bp to spot treat neutrogena and clean and clear. Then my mom bought me proactiv druting my sophomore year and at first it was great, then after about a year to two years my skin was not clearing , I would get under the skin flare ups around my chin , and
  25. I've always been anti-supplement. And even though I take a ton of supplements a day I am still very against them, the only reason I still use them is because I am stuck in the mindset that they are speeding up the process of my skin healing. However, supplements are very dangerous, and I feel like some of them cause me to breakout. At the moment I am taking: Vitamin C 1000 mg, twice daily Vitamin A 10,000 IU, twice daily Selenium 200 mcg, twice daily Vitamin E 400 IU, twice daily Zinc 50 mg
