  1. I have been told by my doctor that although there is no evidence that using azelaic acid during pregnancy should harm the foetus/breastfeeding child (especially in comparison to things like retin a etc) that she thinks I should stop using finacea if I chose to get pregnant.... just in case. I was very distressed by this as I have just found out that I have endometriosis and so I won't want to leave pregnancy for too long if I decide to have children (I have booked in to see a counsellor to d
  2. I want to help others, so I am posting my story here. I am 40 years old and have suffered from very oily skin and acne since my teenage years. I tried all sorts of topical applications by numerous companies and doctors with almost no success. I did a round of accutane that did reduce my cystic acne in my 20s. But I have always suffered by occassional breakouts that I could pinpoint to diet or time of the month. I just "accepted" my acne. But this last year, I accidentally cured myself.
  3. I had severe cystic acne on my chest and back for years. It destroyed my self esteem and my life. I have a child who is 11. I worry about this gene being passed on. I don't want to transfer this agony on to him by going about it the wrong way. I took him to the dermatologist for another skin issue. I can see he is a little worried. The doctor said she saw ingrown hairs on his chest that caused tiny cysts. I told her the second I see any form of acne I want to be proactive as soon as possible.
