  1. So this isn't relevant to acne but it is a cosmetic issue I've always had trouble dealing with. My lips chap very easily, maybe because they're very full? I'm not sure why. I know some people have these problems due to Accutane or other drugs but I've never used that. I make certain never to lick them, and apply a Burt's Bees honey based lip balm often. Still I get huge flakes on my bottom lip. I've also tried exfoliating with sugar. That seems to work temporarily too. I also know dehydration ca
  2. This is when my lips began to peel Hi! Im on a week and a day of accutane (generic brand)... and the first layer of my lips just peeled off ! Like completely... my lips are BLOOD BRIGHT RED and swollen... I feel like this is even worse than super dry chapped lips? I have tried a million chapsticks Dr dans.. everything. My derm even prescribed me 2% cortisone.. but I think he thought my lips were dry because they aren’t flaky or peeling anymore they are just super uncomfortable and it’s h
  3. Well, here I am...writing about my first week of accutane. To be honest, I never thought I would start the journey of accutane -- I was used to hearing such negative things about it, but once my dermatologist asked if I wanted to keep wasting money on creams, cleansers and antibiotics, I knew it was time for a major change. I tried my best not to google about accutane since the negative stuff tends to be more pertinent. I stumbled across acne.org however, and loved that I could read the pro
  4. This is my second round of accutane. I'm just beginning week 3. HATE the dry lips more than anything, but I think I found a really great combination--lip scrub from LUSH followed by Aquaphor. I use the lips scrub in the shower. It's all natural with oils to hydrate, as well. Check out LUSH online if there isn't a store near you. Aquaphor is at Walmart or drug stores.
  5. Hi guys. I started Accutane close to 1 month recently and have been experiencing dry lips and angular cheilitis. I actually have both of them before i even started Accutane but it was manageable but recently its getting worst due to Accutane. May i ask how do people who took Accutane cope with them? What lip balm do you use for your excessive dry lips? and what medicine for angular cheilitis? I did try the hydrocortisone 1% cream but it did not work, same as the steroid cream my derma gave me. C
