  1. Hello, I was wondering if it's okay to replace Dan's cleanser with Cetaphil's and Dan's moisturizer with Cerave's but still using Dan's treatment simultaneously? Please reply, help's appreciated!
  2. Hey guys, So I have been using Cetaphil's gentle cleanser to wash my face for about a year. However, it still dries my face a ton!!! I thought it was supposed to be one of the least drying products out there! If anybody has any experience with another cleanser that might be less drying please let me know. I can't even go swimming without my face looking totally dried and flaky. Please please please let me know if any of you guys are using a product that is less drying. It would help me immense
  3. So after seeking a second opinion from my trusted GP he advised not to go on Accutane next week. I explained to him that all the listed side effects I currently experience so imagine what it would do to me... I get flaking skin (which has calmed down since coming off epiduo), dry lips, joint pain and not to mention a stressful job. I Know I know Im scared and trying to talk myself out of going through. Funnily enough in the past month my skin has really started to clear. I'll post my curren

    2 months on differin

2 months on my regimen! My skin felt smoother and improved 50 %! My mom even commented on my progress. Though to be honest i still feel insecure, mainly due to hyperpigmentation. Most prominent after face washing, but 1 hour later my face looks dewy and almost close to being clear (i dunno if optical illusion or something). And i still do get 2 or 4 small pimples a week, which resolves within 2 to 3 days with bp (spot treatment) and differin (whole face) ONLY at night. Well thats expected from w

    Epiduo Sting

I have been applying Epiduo for the past 3 nights, all is good. But when i apply the moisturiser after it its stings soooo bad and wont stop. Im just using Cetaphil. Can any one recommend a moisturiser that doesn't sting? If I just leave it I turn in to super dry peely red face :/ I put it on about 40 minutes ago and it still hurting.. I do not like. Suggestions? Thanks
  6. Okay, so I have mild to moderate acne, mostly around my mouth and cheeks in form of whiteheads. I have very sensitive skin that gets dry and peels very easily. I was prescribed benzaclin about two years ago and used it sparingly, and it helped my skin but recently my skin has started to get not so good again. I went to the doc and was prescribed Retin-A Micro and Benzaclin again. What I usually do is wash my face with salicylic acid in the morning, moisturize with SPF, and at night use a BP/sa

    Retin-A

hey everyone, I went to the derm. today and was prescribed 0.4 Retin-A, Duac, and Doxycycline, and I've been using Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser to wash my face. Does anyone have any advice or tips and tricks to avoid skin irritation, and how long it will take to see results. Please help!

    Wits End

I need some help. So I had been clear for a long time(over a year) on the following regimen: Am: cetaphil normal-oily skin cleanser Duac Cetaphil moisturizer Oracea Pm: cetaphil cleanser again Retin a micro .04 Cetaphil moisturizer Ortho tri cyclen Then, I started getting occasional cysts on my chin, so I went to ortho cyclen. This cleared me up completely for two months. I stopped taking oracea, and my skin went downhill quickly. I started getting lots of little pimples al

New Here :) Need Whitehead Advice

So it's been maybe a little less than a month since I completely stopped using my Clarisonic because I'm pretty sure it was doing more harm than good other keeping my skin smooth in the places where is wasn't breaking out. Soon after that, I stopped using acne medicated products altogether (currently using Cetaphil cleanser and witch hazel morning & night, Neutrogena Oil Free SPF 15 Moisturizer in the morning & CeraVe lotion at night). My breakouts have significantly reduced, b
  10. hello everyone this is my first ever post as i just signed up for some guidance.. i would say i have fairly mild acne, its not alot in any one area its just spaced out over my face so its not cystic and i dont very often have white heads on my face which is good, although i constantly have blackheads on my nose that are only really noticeable up close. okay so heres my story ive had acne since i was around 15 (im now 20) the severeness has changed a few times.. in june 2012 i suffered a bra
  11. Hey to everyone, I haven't been on here in a while. I have been really busy with my school work. I finally acheived clear skin during the summer 2014. I was put on Epiduo in February and Clindamycin gel in May. It took up until May for my skin to finally start clearing up and it kept getting better from there. It didn't stop breaking out until the middle of May I think. The clindamycin gel played a part in that because I can't use any other face washes besides cetaphil gentle skin wash b
  12. So I've decided I'm going to follow the regimen precisely. Recently I've jumped in to the full benzoyl peroxide dosage charts and my face has literally felt like a statue! My aim is to be clear for when I go to China on a school trip in October. My name is, well just call me clear, and I love cats. I'm also fairly sporty and enjoy football (come on you R'sssss). As I'm a Britain the price for ordering the Acne.org products is horrendous, so ive bought products from stores, here they are; C

    Dry flakey skin!!!

Hi all! So I've been on roaccutane for 3 months now, I'm on 30mg. I've had mild to moderate acne for 6 years now & tried roaccutane as basically a last chance saloon. Not seen huge results so far, but my skin is noticeably drier; yes this is a good thing & the purpose but putting make up on is a nightmare!! I use liquid concealer & a power foundation obviously to hide the spots & scarring. Under my make up I've been using Cetaphil moisturiser but the dryness remains, and half
  14. Hello fellow acne sufferers, I have been on Duac(benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin) and retin a micro .04 % now for over a year, and my skin is so oily, yet so flaky. I am trying to cure my flakiness. I am currently using cetaphil moisturizer, but it is not doing enough. Here are my options: -jojoba oil -Cetaphil moisturizing cream -aquaphor -cerave pm moisturizer what are your thoughts?
  15. Hey guys, I'm 16 and I just recently stopped using differin after two years of a red face. I don't want to jinx it, but my face is going well so far. I've also been using Cetaphil gentle cleanser for about two years also and I'm not really convinced it cleans well. Maybe I'm over exaggerating because I have two nearly invisible blackheads that I'm scared will turn into pimples (because I know they will). Whenever I'm washing my face after a shower, if i use my hands to try and exfoliate gently,

    Acne Routine

Hello! Brief introduction, I'm 17 this year and i'm Asian. I live in a humid country. My acne main concerns are on my cheeks as they are everywhere on my cheeks and get dry in the night but oily under the sun/will turn red. I have a few acne on my jawline too.Daily routineMorning:Slather my face with Raw Honey (Really Raw Honey brand) for at least 30minutes to an hour ; sometimes when i'm lazy or in a rush, i use Cetaphil Gentle Skin CleanserWash it off and apply toner (I use Bragg's Apple Cider
  17. I just ordered Dan's BP a few days ago as I plan on using Cetaphil and CeraVe (and sublock in the AM) in place of his cleanser and moisturizer. After seeing some people's issues with their faces turning darker, now I'm really worried! I always thought BP was originally marketed many years ago as a bleaching agent (I mean it definitely does a good job at bleaching my hair line!) before the discovery of its uses for treating acne, so I'm curious as to why this is happening to some of you guys. I a
  18. Hey, I start my first prescription of isotretinoin/accutane tomorrow and I'm wondering what the best skincare products are to use? I bought a Cetaphil moisturiser today, as well as a La Roche-Posay cleanser, lipbalm and moisturiser. Do people recommend getting a Cetaphil cleanser too? Possibly a body wash and body lotion? Everything else I have at the moment is scented and will be too harsh on my skin whilst on the meds. Any advice is really appreciated. Lizzie x
  19. Finally went to the derm yesterday after a pretty bad face asplosion last week. I started trying a couple new products at once about a month ago so I'm not sure if and which one of them's behind it, but I don't think my acne's ever been quite this bad. Anyways, here's my routine I started last night. Morning Cetaphil cleanser* CeraVe moisturizer Duac Evening Olive oil cleanse (around 3x a week) Cetaphil cleanser CeraVe moisturizer Tazorac .05% *Currently using the Target b
  20. I'm starting accutane in a few days, so i've been doing my research and buying the right products I should be using for my skin while I'm on the drug. I'm thinking of buying the QV gentle wash, because I'm not really a fan of the cetaphil gentle cleanser. It doesn't have any active ingredients or anything and has generally higher reviews than cetaphil so I'm not too worried about that But their QV lotion contains active ingredients: Soft white paraffin 5.0%, glycerol 5.0%. Hydroxybenzoat
  21. I'm 18 and I'm having an increasing amount of acne for 2 years now. I went to see a doctor and he gave me a cleanser which helped only to a certain extent -acne would only appear on my cheeks and my skin texture became weird, it has lots of bumps and its kinda greasy. There were blackheads all over my cheeks and nose. So I stopped using the cleanser he gave and bought a cetaphil cleanser. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and my skin broke out a lot in many areas but mainly on my cheeks, there w
  22. I've been on The Regimen for three months now. My acne has slowed down impressively (I usually got 1 inflamed pimple every 2-3 days, now if I do get one is like every month or so) the thing is my face is red. I live in a country were none of the recommended moisturizers are available (Except for Cetaphil's Gentle Lotion or whatever, but it costs almost 40USD and it contains comedogenic ingredients) .I am using a Neutrogena Oil free SPF as moisturizer , but it doesn't even moisturize. I recently
  23. Can anyone recommend a facial mask I could try at home without having to spend so much money of products? And how often should I do it? My current cleanser is Cetaphil AM/PM and Retin-A 0.1%. Which I'm thinking of trying CeraVe due to so much talk about here because I'm not happy with Cetaphil. I may just use what's left as a body wash and start CeraVe on my face. A few days ago I exfoliated with a facial brush. I did it with the Cetaphil and I wasn't rough. It looks as though I took
  24. I can't wash my face twice daily with a cleanser anymore because my skin would get really dry at first and then really oily in the middle of the day, is it ok to just wash my face only once a day with cleanser and the second time with just water to lessen the dryness? Or would my face be improving less this way? And also, ever since I started the regimen, my skin has been way more oily and shiny in the middle of the day, does anyone know what's causing this? I'm also moisturizing everyday.
  25. So my basic cleanser is quite simply amazing. Clinique Rinse off foaming cleanser. I love it. Although I admit I have tossed it to the side lately and used Clearasil as I was depressed and desperate. The Clinique is so gentle and great at removing make up, it makes you feel super clean and it's the only thing I trust to use while taking the Roaccutane. Cetaphil moisturiser I am using just because of the recommendations for this while on treatment. It normally brings me up loads of closed comed
