  1. I will never sympathize with cancer patients or people who have HIV/AIDS or diabetes etc. They get all these charities and donations and support and I get stared at like a freak. After years of anxiety humiliation and bullying nothing will ever change my mind about this. I couldn't care less about them while we get nothing
  2. Hello everyone, former acne sufferer here, I'm 29 now, and I've been having problems with acne ever since I was 16 or so. Irony was it started getting worse after my teen years, and worse. to this day, although I don't break out anymore, the scars are very much there and visible (one of the reasons I started wearing a beard). Nothing I can do about my forehead, though . I started getting better when I made small changes in my diet (less sugar, no fried stuff etc); much more complex than th
  3. So... I'm a teenager and I am 15 years old. I have acne problems and i had pimples since 2010. I visited a dermatologist and he gave me some antibiotics and some cremes to use but they made my skin worse. 2 months ago i started taking accutane (isotretinoin) with my doctors permission . I saw some of my friends who had really bad acne getting rid of their acne with the same antibiotics that i took and i got sad but i didn't let that take me down. Then at school I saw a lot of people with clean f
  4. Hello everyone I'm new to this forum. I'm currently 17 years old (male) Senior in High School and want to ask if anyone elses acne ruined their teenage years such as not being able to go out because of it, having no social life and enduring merciless bullying? I just hope I'm not the only one who has spent most of their teen years in complete isolation because of this. This disease has made me psychotic.
  5. Cancer and AIDS patients get national recognition but we don't. Actually skin diseases in general don't. psoriasis eczema etc. To me acne is life threatening because it made me suicidal and homicidal.
  6. I've had acne since age 10, it's currently what you'd probably classify as moderate, although it partially covers my face, and the majority of my back. I can definitely say acne has impacted me a lot. Middle school being the worst as I was one of the only kids that had acne, so I got a lot of mean/rude comments such as "You're disgusting, do you even wash your face??" I was humiliated and tried to avoid school. I think it's kind of funny that many people brush acne off as being a minor, insignif
  7. Hi everyone so my name is Michael, I'm 15 years old from Canada and I suffer from nodular cystic acne. So for those of you who dont know what it is, nodular cystic acne is a severe form that happens deep within the skin (i think in the dermis), that is almost always painful and leaves acne marks! It's basically solid inflamed lesions on the skin that sometimes have white heads. I've personally been struggling with acne since grade 7, I'm only in grade 11 though but it's been a struggle both phys
  8. It really bugs me when people ignorantly comment on my skin and I really want to stand up to myself instead of just sitting there and letting them make fun of me. I would like to know some good comebacks. I thought of: "My acne will go away one day, but your face will always look like a piece of shit." I really can't think of much else. Please don't just say to ignore them or be the bigger person and not say anything else, because that does NOTHING. I know from experience.
  9. Hi Everyone, My name is Anthony and I'm a filmmaker from the UK. I'm currently writing a short film based on a teenager that suffers from acne. My intention is to make a compelling film that shows the difficulties that people who suffer from acne have to endure, especially through school life. The inspiration to make this film comes from my Mum who was bullied at school because of her acne. As someone who also suffered from acne, I know how difficult it can be. My intention is to make a
