  1. Ok so to start off i've had acne since i was 13 y/o (17 now). It was very mild at first but the last years it's has been mild/moderate. I've tried a bunch of stuff including the acne.org regimen (which didn't work btw). So about a month ago i think, i just couldn't be asked to need one extra hour every morning anymore and have a constantly red or over-dried face which the regimen gave me. So I started putting less and less BP on until I was literally only using very little of it as a spot treatm
  2. I'm on my 12th day of accutane and I'm on 20mg twice a day (40mg) around 3 days ago I started with two cystic pimples on the right side of my chin, both have begun to go down but now there's about 13 total pimples in that one area of my face. Could this be the initial breakout? And is it normal to only have the initial breakout in one localized spot? Anyone with a similar experience please comment!
  3. Hey! My acne was clearing up, until lately… I was so hopeful that my acne was under control and would soon be over!! But i'm having a bad breakout (including a cystic acne breakout) and I can't help but wonder if it has to do with the weather change (summer to fall). I've noticed that last year around this time I had a bad breakout. Has this happened to anyone else?
  4. I really really don't know what to do. I've always had pretty good skin with the occasional zit here and there but the last year I started to develop these closed comedones (I think they are?) in the crease of my chin, I used to try to squeeze them out and they began to spread out more, very unnoticeable though so it didn't bother me. Within the past week and a half, they have spread rapidly and in clusters all over chin area and around my lips... there are so many, literally over 70. Some are
  5. I was eating gluten free cornchips and bean dip. and I was eating some chicken strips and some tacitos... and some gluten free pumking pie will any of these break me out?
  6. So today is my first day on 60mg of tane. 20mg in the morning, 40mg at night because my insurance won't cover 30mg pills. I would say I have moderate to severe acne as of now since I get on average 1-2 cysts a week. It looks a whole lot worse than it should because I have a bad tendency to pop them which has left a lot of hyper pigmentation on my face. Cystic acne seemed to take me by storm 2 years ago. It didn't gradually occur, it hit me almost overnight. I didn't get the normal
  7. Hello, I get whiteheads on my chin everyday. Mostly when I wakeup they are at its worst, and I will still get them throughout the day if I am wearing makeup, if I am not wearing makeup, if I workout, if I don't workout, if I eat; if I don't eat. I am a very hygienic and a clean person and I am out of ideas as what could be causing this. Does anybody have any dietary advice or exercise advice that could help lessen this problem? I have heard no dairy and do yoga; does anyone have experience with
  8. Hi! I've been on accutane for 5 weeks now, but I'm still breaking out and my skin is worse than when I started on this medication. Is this normal? When will I start to see a difference?/when will the accutane kick in? Thanks!
  9. I'm still breaking into month 3 (on 40mg) of accutane. I never really got massive cysts before taking accutane but now i'm covered in them on my chin and jawline. My face looks a LOT worse than it ever has because i've got so much hyperpigmentation, scars and cysts right now. I'm just feeling really down as school starts next week and i'm feeling more paranoid than ever about my face and looking people in the eye. All i've been using is cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer cream along with drinking
  10. I was on a beach vacation for about a week. In that time, I had one whitehead and all the redness subsided despite being in the sun for awhile each day (First time clear in months). I came home and developed a terrible breakout that doesn't seem to want to go away. I'm not sure why my constant breakouts was cured on vacation...could it be? A. Pillowcases changed daily B. Being in sunlight for longer than usual at home, to the point of almost burning. C. sleeping early? D. Wearing sun
  11. Hello, This is my first post so I'll start with a brief history of my acne struggles: I'm 23 and have had mild to moderate acne since I was 13, on my face, neck and back. After trying pretty much 'everything' from harsh chemical washes, scrubs and nappy rash cream, nothing really made much difference to my skin. Recently I've been making an effort to eat more healthily (in the past my diet has been very poor), exercise more and drink green tea (I'd actually recommend this for general hea
  12. I always try and do a spot test on my neck or forehead when I get a new product...like a cleanser or face cream, but it seems that "testing" doesn't work because some pores get clogged while others don't. For example, I'll test my jaw line...cause if I get a zit there, I can easily hide it, it will pass my 3 day test of just applying the new product in that one region...then I will use it all over my face...then WAM I have random zits on my temples and cheeks, not every pore, but some that were
  13. Hello. I'm 12 and I've been using the regimen for about 2 months now. I follow it strictly everyday, two times a day. I always see major improvement, but when I'm about to feel good about myself and ask a girl out, I break out.. bad. Like from little to mild acne to severe acne. The cycle goes on. I know you shouldn't expect great results in the first 3 months, but with some research I found out that over masturbating makes your hormones go insane thus making you break out. Help? Thanks. (btw
  14. Hi. I have pretty mild acne, it used to be worse with a lot of small forehead pimples but I started using Paulas Choice Clear acne line about 2 months ago which I liked, it worked pretty well and my face was mostly clear for a while, only very occasional small pimples on my forehead or cheeks that went away quickly. However recently I started my volleyball season again at school and therefore have been sweating a lot and think this might have to do with me getting more acne past couple weeks. I
  15. Hi all, I am starting football quite soon and am worried about acne. I was hoping to get some reassurance/help. What I currently do when I get home after practice (5-10 mins usually) is wash my face with a deep cleaning cleanser. After I wipe my face with a medicated salicylic acid cleansing pad. Then I moisturizer. Then I spot treat pimples with BP. Please tell me if it will work this season. I need help. Thanks! WadeX
  16. Has anyone ever heard of a raw honey facial mask causing a breakout? I'm not 100% certain in my case, but this is the 2nd time I have tried it and I have gotten a breakout 12-16 hours later. The first time I tried it, I also used a new moisturizer in conjunction, which turned out to be a bad decision. I had a really, really bad breakout from that. I reasoned that the breakout wasn't from the raw honey, but rather from the moisturizer. Everything that I've read about raw honey has been positi
  17. I have a few questions regarding my current acne treatment and any kind of help or insight would be really appreciated. I'm a 25 year old guy with oily skin, have been doing acne treatments on and off for the past 10 years or so. Unfortunately, I have had a very bad luck with dermatologists and I can honestly say that not one treatment has helped me for more than a month tops. I have been using Glycolic Acid 20%, a tone adjustment cream for the past 7 months (because my skin got disastrously

  19. I'm just wondering if kiwifruit causes breakouts for many people. It's so nutritious, I hope that isn't what's causing the recent breakout.
  20. So I started the Regimen 3 weeks ago and had great results at first, I was completely clear by week 2. Now, in week 3 I'm experiencing a breakout, why?! I've followed the Regimen exactly. Maybe I need to use more BP? I'm using half a finger twice a day. I'm just worried that this is going to be like Proactive, where it worked for a while but then suddenly stopped working. I've ordered the acne.org kit as well as the AHA and jojoba oil but I haven't recieved it yet so I've been using stor
  21. For the most part, I had mild acne for a few years ( I'm 16 now). I've always been decently active, and I eat okay. Then at the end of this school year in early June, I started breaking out like mad (I would classify it as moderate-severe), but only on my cheeks. The rest of my face would just be clear.I would get these small bumps that would turn into huge whiteheads over the course of a day. I got these in addition to the normal whiteheads that would just appear. I started taking a multivitamin
  22. Hello everyone. I was put on birth control almost 3 weeks ago to regulate my hormones and hopefully help clear my skin up. I'm also on differin at night aswell. The second week is almost over and the beginning of this week was hell. I had a lot of cysts on one side of my face and around my mouth. Now that this week is almost over, those cysts are thankfully almost gone. However: I seem to still be breaking out in a LOT of really tiny pimples all over my face, even in places I never used to brea
  23. I think it's perhaps the sun and the heat (it's ALWAYS hot where I live). My dermatologist told me to stay away from the sun because it might cause more pimples/acne (don't know the difference ), but the problem is, sometimes I can't avoid going outside! In a couple days, my family's going to go for a family trip and I'm sure I won't be allowed to stay in the hotel all the time I really don't wanna go on the trip cuz my acne is finally beginning to clear up. After it breaks out due to being
  24. I've always had problems with acne but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight about why this is happening. I recently moved from an apartment which had city water and my acne was under control for the most part. I just moved back into the outskirts of the city to a house which uses well water. I've been here since Saturday and I haven't drank any of the water, just used iced cubes. I do drink a lot of water at work and since I moved back all I've been drinking is store bought water. I had
  25. I go training a lot lately and i need a carb boost to get through the workout. Today i "accidentally" had 93grams of sugar. Not added of course , it was an all natural smoothie mixed with some salad and green tea. It was a really intense workout about 90 mins so i know i would have used up the sugars, it seems likely that i will break out from this despite the exercise as you would still theoretically release the same amount of insulin if you didn't exercise and drank the smoothie. So what happe
