  1. Gday, A little background about me. I had pretty bad acne from about 2005-2011 when I was 14-20 and decided to go on accutane which cleared me up fully. I didn't get any bad breakouts except for the occasional one here and there until a few months ago, and my skin now looks almost as bad as when I started accutane. I have bad acne scars and every pimple I get now seems to leave a pitted scar no matter what I do. I've recently started a cocktail of vitamins to try and get rid of my
  2. Not much happening. Feel like I have to apply lip balm every 10 minutes all day and I am breaking out in random huge spots all over rather than clusters now. They are those big painful under the skin ones. I am popping them, because of pain and how they look I can't leave them.

    Random Breakout?

So I've been suffering from mild to moderate acne since and since last September I've been using epiduo gel and it worked perfectly after a couple months! I had no breakouts what so ever. Then in December I started taking birth control pills and it didn't seem to effect my face and I thought it was preventing me from getting acne but now I've recently gotten a bad breakout on my face. I also have a weird pimple bump on my forehead that doesn't have a head and isn't even red. I've also started wo

    Honey Mask Backfired?

I have pretty severe acne and my face is usually always red around my mouth, cheek and parts of my forehead area. I'm a 20 year old male who has a family history of acne, mom mainly has it, sister has it, 2 of my 3 brothers has it. I've been breaking out lately only around my mouth and chin area. Some say that this is a cause of hormones while others say it is because of the food im eating(oils of food going on my lips onto my chin/mouth area). Not sure what is exactly the cause but

    1 Month 2 Weeks

So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness

    issues following a facial

Hey everyone. so I had a facial about 3 weeks ago. needless to say, I will not be getting another. I had a breakout and decided to go to an esthetician so they could get me pointed in the right direction with better skincare products tailored to my needs and such. I my sister had gone to her previously and she has alot of experience with acne. n fact, she had pretty severe cystic acne herself that she had since cleared up. anyway, I had a deep cleansing facial with extractions done. the extracti
  7. Hello, to my fellow victims of this terrible plague called acne. I’m not new to acne.org as I have stumbled across these forums on many occasions in the past, but this will be my first ever post. I am a 22 year old guy who suffers from moderate to severe acne specifically and almost exclusively on the chin. Picture someone drawing a triangle from the corners of your mouth down to the sides of your chin. I do occasionally get 1 or 2 above my mouth as well (maybe once or twice a month) but they he
  8. I have had acne for ~ 3 years and severe cystic acne over the past 12 months. It used to completely cover my back/shoulders and face, however after persistent use of 5% benzoil peroxide and eliminating dairy from my diet my back is now acne free, howbeit covered in keloidal scars. My face on the other is odd. It is completely clear except for large patches on and around my mouth - see attatched photos. The fact that most of my fact that my face is clear except for the acne you can see in the pho
  9. I’ve been suffering from acne since I was 13 and I am 16 now turning 17 soon and the acne has only just gotten worse. There was a period in time where my skin started to clear up when I applied Tea Tree Oil to it every night but it dried my skin out so I stopped using it and my acne just came back way worse as soon as I stopped, so I tried to go back to it but now my skin just rejects it and nothing has changed. Ive heard the amazing reviews on the Indian healing clay mask so I got some an
  10. So I was in Australia for three weeks on a rugby tour. However I did not take my normal proactive three step regimen (the new one with the toner) since my parents believe it to bleach sheets and they wouldn't want a billet families sheets bleached. However I did take some neutrogena applicants and a la Roche face wash. These did not clear my skin but my skin only worsened a little bit, except for my forehead and nose which began to clear on the trip. Though when I got back my skin really started
  11. Hey guys, So on Wednesday, what seemed like a matter of 4-6 hours, my chin broke out with a cluster of whiteheads. I wouldn't even really judge it as my normal acne that I used to have a few years back. There weren't any red lumps really around my whiteheads, like I said they are more of just a cluster of tiny whiteheads gathered around my chin. The day before I went to the dentists for a deep cleaning and fillings (I haven't been to the dentist in like 10 years..gross..) and they used

    Accutane

hey everyone, this is my first post. I started accutane about 16 days ago when my dermatologist prescribed it to me. I have had acne since I was in the 4th grade and now I'm in my senior year of high school and it's out of control. I'm on 40mg once per day and I'm getting horrible side effects from the drug and I wanna know if it's normal. If I don't drink enough water during the day I get the worlds worst migraine, like so bad it hurts to think. Also the insides of my nose are painfully dry, I'
  13. Hello guys, I am a 23 year old Male with oily/combination skin. Currently I have had a huge breakout on my chin with what is believed to be cyst. They start off as red, tender flat bumps, eventually get larger and form a whitehead. Generally my skin is pretty clear but I do get random breakouts like this on my chin maybe once a year or so. It started off as 1 bump, and it grew and looked like it had 2-3 smaller whiteheads on it. That eventually popped on its own with a little bit of my help once
  14. hey, i recently change my Neutrogena oil free fps 15 moisturizer to Neutrogena oil free combination skin moisturizer cause the fps15 was too greasy. i also started using witch hazel for about a week. those 2 combined made my forehead even moire oily !! while the goal was to get it less oily. i only used those 2 new products on my forehead, i had a smallbreakout and i tought witch hazel would help it, oh boy i was wrong, made thing worse, broke out in tiny small pimples everywhere on

  16. My doctor put me on birth control (ortho-tricyclen) after my first period in middle school. Fast forward - clear skin for almost my entire life until I turn 19 and decide I don't need to be on synthetic hormones. Three months later, cystic acne all over my cheeks, jawline, and neck. Sound familiar? Straight away I go to the derm. Get put back on ortho-tri. I stayed on the ortho tri only to experience mediocre results, then moved onto yaz for three months which caused a literal facial explosion
  17. I dont know whats going on but ive been on Dan's regimen for about 2 weeks now and i think my acne is getting worst. i've taken pictures and there was some damage after 2 weeks. Broke out like crazy, flaky red skin. Can someone help me out. I have been consuming more coffee lately but only because i have to wake up at 6:30am. Should i keep sticking to the regimen? I need some advice!
  18. I’ve been using African black soap for a month now too. When can I expect to see results if it works?
  19. I have been taking Absorica for 44 days now (30 days- 40mg, 14 days- 50mg) & I have not seen any effects on my skin. It is somewhat dry, but my skin is always dry during the winter. I would say my face is moderate-severe, but more severe, & I also have acne on my neck, chest & back. Up to a year and a half ago, my acne was very mild, but since a year and a half ago, it has quickly become worse & worse. I am 15 now. My acne has continued it's worsening since I have started accutan
  20. From the album: Isolaz+Laser Genesis

I just got a treatment today. I took this picture right after the treatment. It's not as red as last time. I'm happy to say that it's not as painful as last time. In fact, it's not painful at all. I barely feel the suction. Maybe it's because my face is now cleared of painful cystic acne. I only have a lot of stubborn closed pores or whiteheads that don't wanna go away. The nurse extracted some of that today. But there are still quit a lot that are not ready to come out. http://pimpleapocaly..
  21. Hi all, I'm just over 4 months post accutane (second round, first was 15 yrs ago) I'm noticing a breakout....nothing major but a few new small spots each day. Is it normal to have a breakout after treatment? If it gets worse I can call the derm nurses who have said we can look at another course (I really hope that's the case and I won't have to go back to gp for a referral etc) just interested in people's opinions/experiences. I'm trying not to stress about it I feel that could make things worse
  22. I just broke out badly after switching from Clean and Clear continuous control acne cleanser (10% BP cream) to Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. Two days ago I had 1 pimple on my chin and now i have 5, my forehead has also broken out badly(to many pimples to count!) Should I switch back to my old cleanser or just wait and see if this clears up? My old regimen Clean and Clear continuous control acne cleanser (10% BP cream) twice a day. Epiduo gel (2.5% BP and .1% adapalene) once at night after

    Need help.

I've never felt worse. I really do need help. I'll get straight to the problem and leave the cries below. It's quite a lengthy paragraph, but I don't think I could summarise it any further. Someone, please help me. As one who always strived for self-improvement, I noticed that my hairline was receding a little. I'm only 21, but I went ahead with the finasteride route - taking a pill that would inhibit the conversion of testosterone to a chemical known as DHT associated with male pattern bald
  24. Early last year, I spent about 4 months on Roaccutane and it was a miracle cure! But back in October my skin started to have very minor break outs, so I went back to my Derm about 2 weeks ago and she prescribed me Epiduo. I was just wondering whether after the first 3 months, if I won't have to apply it to my skin anymore or whether it's something I will have to be using for a few years to come. Ideally, I'd love to have it over and done with in 3 months, but obviously I can't decide on what my
