  1. Hello everyone, I just finished my second month of Accutane (60mg a day & I weigh 68kg). Since the beginning of my treatment, my skin has slowly but surely been getting WORSE (Wasn't expecting that lmao). My question is has anyone else dealt with a not so initial breakout? When I think breakout, I thing waking up with several spots then waiting for them to go away and Boom you're done. My case consists of two to three pastules a day that go away pretty quickly and a wonderful cyst or nodule
  2. Hey So, I'm two months and 5 days into my isotretinoin treatment. I take 20 mgs each day. So far my acne seemed to having improved, although, around the beginning of month three, it started to break out again, and a lot of new blackheads and whiteheads appeared around my nose. What can I expect? Is it possible that it will have improved (somehow magically) by the end of month 3? Thanks in advance
  3. I have had acne for ~ 3 years and severe cystic acne over the past 12 months. It used to completely cover my back/shoulders and face, however after persistent use of 5% benzoil peroxide and eliminating dairy from my diet my back is now acne free, howbeit covered in keloidal scars. My face on the other is odd. It is completely clear except for large patches on and around my mouth - see attatched photos. The fact that most of my fact that my face is clear except for the acne you can see in the pho
  4. So I've done two courses of accutane. The first was about two years ago, and my face had definitely cleared up for about a good year until I started college and it all came back, perhaps the same if not worst. After a couple of months I decided to see a dermatologist and went through multiple creams and pills, ultimately leading to my second round of accutane. I did a 4-month treatment and my face cleared up immensely, though I still had a couple spots here and there from scars/marks. I just saw
  5. So after a particularly horrible year dealing with cystic acne, I went on accutane - 20mg for 4 months while I was living abroad. When I got back, I went to see my dermatologist and he said that I should go on a second round for 6 months at 40mg to make sure my acne didn't come back. I really hated how I felt on accutane, and so wanted to wait a bit to see how my skin would do. It's been 4 months since I got off accutane, and I just got another cyst on the side of my face which scared me enough
  6. BackOutbreak

    Need help.

I've never felt worse. I really do need help. I'll get straight to the problem and leave the cries below. It's quite a lengthy paragraph, but I don't think I could summarise it any further. Someone, please help me. As one who always strived for self-improvement, I noticed that my hairline was receding a little. I'm only 21, but I went ahead with the finasteride route - taking a pill that would inhibit the conversion of testosterone to a chemical known as DHT associated with male pattern bald

    Acne mystery

Hi guys! I'm trying to solve one big acne mystery. I've been suffering from acne almost 10 years now (I am 23 years old now) and I have tried many things but nothing has helped. Over those years I have eliminated foods that are breaking me out like dairy, sugar(chocolate, sodas, sweets etc.), fried foods, potato chips, nuts, citrus fruit and processed meat (ham, salami...). These are foods that definitely worsen my skin condition. I have even tried for some time vegeterian diet as well as glut
  8. Hello guys I have tried everything I could from home to cure my acne and scars. Can anyone tell me what kind of acne this is and also the scar type. Also it will be appreciated if you tell me about what would be the treatment for this condition/type. Thanks for all the replies in advance!
  9. I’ve been using African black soap for a month now too. When can I expect to see results if it works?
  10. I started breaking out about two years ago and ever since I've been trying to clear my skin. I know it's mostly hormones but I just want to find out how I can clear it. I have spots on my forehead, some acne scars on my cheek, spots on my chin, blackheads on my chin, nose, forehead and some on my cheek and no whiteheads. I use african black soap, tried witch hazel, benzoyl peroxide, doing NOTHING, vitamin E oil and so much more. All they did was make it worse. African black soap is kind of helpi
  11. Hey guys. So I have mild acne here and there, usually triggered by eating habits but lately I have not been having anything out of the ordinary.. no extra sugar or sodium. I’ve had dairy products sparingly but that’s it. I notice thought, that I frequently (every week or so) get breakouts of a cluster of white heads(?) around my mouth and on my cheek. They’re the type that if I was to scratch it lightly it would pop but they also sting a bit if I exfoliate over them. They usually go away within
  12. So I think my weeks may be one off on these posts, but when I go back and look, I can’t see where the mistake is… idk. Ever since my dosage was upped, I’ve been getting a long and irritating breakout. I know it’s probably my body expelling the deep acne in my skin, but it HURTS and my skin picking has become a lot more challenging as a result. My closed comedones have become more numerous and obvious, yet all of my mirrors in my room are covered to dissuade my picking sessions so I’m not exactly
  13. Hello I’ve been using differin for 4 1/2 weeks now and my acne is terrible. I’ve attached pictures. Keep in mind I use to only have like 1-2 pimples here max. Should I quit differin?r
  14. Hey all, Been an acne sufferer for over 15 years (about to turn 30). Been on every perscription, accutane 3 times, and have been taking .05% retina nightly for the past several years with the acne.org bp every morning. Recently been getting more nodular acne and the current probiotic I took for 1.5 months wasnt doing anything (it was 10 bil units, 2 strands, and i overlooked the refridge statement so they could have been dead for all I knew). Decided to give Doxycyclin another try. 2 w
  15. Hello. I started using differin about 3 weeks ago. Since then my acne has gotten considerably worse. I have Whitehead’s everywhere and I gained a ridiculous amount of acne on my jawline/neck. I know that differin has an initial breakout period but this seems a little extreme? Wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. Hanks!!
  16. It's been a few weeks since I last updated this blog, so be prepared for a long one! Right now, without hopefully jinxing it, I have no actives on my face!! It's by no means clear however, unfortunately still some quite persistent lumps from previous spots that just won't go down . I also have A LOT of hyperpigmentation and a few scars so definitely not looking clear by any means. But I honestly can't believe this right now, after just 4 weeks I've reached a point where I am going a good few
  17. Hi, I just wanted to ease my mind regarding the effects of stopping birth control pills especially on the skin which is usually acne breakouts. I have been on Alesse 28 for 4 months only. I am just wondering if anyone who took pills for a few months still got bad acne breakouts? I’m quitting BC pills this week but I’m also scared about its side effects. Please help me. Thanks : (
  18. So I just finished my second course of Accutane 2 months ago in April 2018 and I'm already starting to breakout again. On my first course the same thing happened; I broke out ~2 months post treatment. Is it viable to go on a third course or should I just look into other options? On both courses of Accutane I was on I reached well above the cumulative dosage for my BW with 180mg/kg for the first course (i was on it for 9 months) and 150mg/kg for the second course (7 months). Another questi
  19. i dont know if i can do this anymore, I'm so sick of my acne. never had any breakouts throughout my high school years until april 2018, my cheeks started breaking out horribly. ive literally tried everything under the sun but nothing has worked and now my acne is getting worse. the post inflammatory erythema are so bad, they make my skin look like i have active pimples. ive cried several times because my acne, and i pray almost everyday for me to have clear skin again. and oh boy oh boy, i
  20. Hi im hoping someone can help me. I am from NY but go to college in south carolina. All year my skin was relatively stable while at school. A few things would pop up here and there, nothing major (i have extreme anxiety from acne so this was huge for me) However, I came home for the summer and now my skin has gone HAYWIRE. Literally everywhere. As soon as i look away from the mirror i swear one more thing comes in. I have an awful picking habit so this is really starting to scare me. I dont kn
  21. Hi! I was just recently prescribed Accutane and I am about to start my first course of 60/mg day tomorrow. I have been using the regimen EVERY SINGLE DAY (BP followed by AHA+ mixed w/ moisturizer) for about 2 years now, and I'm terrified of what is going to happen to my face if I stop cold turkey. I was thinking of gradually decreasing the amount of BP I use from two pumps down to one until I feel the Accutane is making my skin too dry to use any more. My face has always been extremely oily and
  22. I’m 18. Over the years I’ve struggled with an occasional pimple here and there along with a constant battle with blackheads and whiteheads. However, I generally felt confident about my skin. Here’s a picture of what my skin looked like on Wednesday this week. (Bad photo but it’s the most recent without any makeup) Obviously not perfect, but nothing too bad. I felt fine going out looking like that to run an errand or anything like that. Here is a photo of what I awoke to the next day:
  23. I’ve been suffering from acne since I was 13 and I am 16 now turning 17 soon and the acne has only just gotten worse. There was a period in time where my skin started to clear up when I applied Tea Tree Oil to it every night but it dried my skin out so I stopped using it and my acne just came back way worse as soon as I stopped, so I tried to go back to it but now my skin just rejects it and nothing has changed. Ive heard the amazing reviews on the Indian healing clay mask so I got some an
  24. Some background information to start off.. I am 17, currently one month from graduating highschool. From what I can remember, my skin only started giving me major problems during my last two years, grade 11 til now. My forehead is where most of my acne is located, a lot of hyper pigmentation, unevenness, and pimples/whiteheads that come and go in waves. I also get a reoccurring whiteheads on my chin and near my mouth. My cheeks are clear and smooth, opposed to a pimple once and a while. I do
  25. A little about me and my acne. I started getting acne when I was around 18 years old and It progressively started getting worse as I got older. Was put on topical antibiotics at first ( clindamycin then erythromycin/benzoyl). I used those topicals exclusively until I ask around 22 and didn't see much results. Then dermatologist put me on tretinoin .025% cream along with the topical antibiotics and It seemed to be working fairly well. But now, recently at the age of 25 my acne just isn't respondi
