  1. I have pretty severe acne and my face is usually always red around my mouth, cheek and parts of my forehead area. I'm a 20 year old male who has a family history of acne, mom mainly has it, sister has it, 2 of my 3 brothers has it. I've been breaking out lately only around my mouth and chin area. Some say that this is a cause of hormones while others say it is because of the food im eating(oils of food going on my lips onto my chin/mouth area). Not sure what is exactly the cause but
  2. My skin has mostly cleared up from active acne but it's extremely dehydrated and flaky ,, no amount of moisturizer would help and any product i apply simply flakes off or balls up.. nasty. So I have decided to cut it out of my regimen for a week and then go back only treating affected areas with tiny amounts. This might not be my best Idea, but I really can't deal with this dry tired looking skin. Yes, I have tried cutting back on the amount but I think what my skin needs is some time to r
  3. I'm going to Mexico for spring break in about 2.5 weeks. I am currently on my last month of Accutane (40 mg/day). I'll be in the sun a lot, so I'm worried about getting a horrible sunburn. I know it takes about a month for it to completely be out of your system, but if I stop taking it right now will it help reduce my sensitivity to the sun?
  4. Everything is in point form; I'm not done loathing myself. - got home looked into the mirror and LOST IT Can't explain it, just got into a head space and nothing I did could wrench me out of it FUCKED up my face. And cried, and cried, and cried, and cried, and cried. I disappointed everyone, including myself. I OBLITERATED any progress I made as well as my self-esteem toward body image I feel ugly, and so ashamed of myself. the elastic snapping no longer works and I have no idea how to make
  5. 19 years old--I just finished my freshman year of college. Virtually no acne throughout the year despite zero skin care, 5-6 hours of sleep a night, and *ahem* college festivities. But around finals I breakout...bad. When I come home for summer, I expect it to get better but it still got worse. That was May. Now it's July and my acne is very bad. I'll attach before/after pictures later. I have like no acne on the top 2/3 of my face but my jawline is very specifically riddled with acne. HELP. I
  6. So here's the deal.. I was on accutane for almost 2 months. I had to go away to a different country for 3 weeks and just as I get to the airport I realized I'd forgot my pills. My concern is, is when I return, will I be able to continue my treatment as usual or will I have to start it all over again? Will I go through that horrible period at the beginning again? I still have the pills sitting at home... as soon as i land I'd like to pop one. Can I do that? Any help would be great.
  7. I won't go too much into detail but I was on accutane (or roaccutane) from early september to early february this year. Basically there was a miscommunication between my hospital/derm and me, which meant that I thought I had finished my course in february, but actually I was meant to have had an appointment and been giving a prescription for more roaccutane. Realised this when I finally saw my derm this week - he has given me a prescription for the next month, but I'm a bit worried because I've
  8. 19 years old and just finished my freshman year of college. Throughout freshman year, I had virtually no acne. During finals, I was pretty stressed and my acne returned. But even when summer break started (early May) and I returned home several states away, my acne continued to get worse. Now in July, I still have pretty bad acne. What gives? If it matters, like 90% of the acne is around my jawline. I've also been on a routine for 3 weeks to no avail: Morning: Moisturizer lotion, then s
