  1. Hello Everyone! If anyone has been reading my blog thus far, you will know I have been on the regime (drugstore version) for about a month. I can honestly say that benzoyl peroxide is a very effective acne/blemish treatment - at a cost. The dryness, roughness and overall uneven skin texture is a trade off for fewer pimples and potentially clear skin. I found that my skin was so rough and uneven that it just didn't look great, even though I had fewer pimples and blemishes. Doing some research
  2. I have always had clean skin until April of this year that I started getting cystic acne. I don't know what's causing it I just know that I have tried so many things and none of them work. I went to the dermatologists who's injected me with about 8 cortisone shots this year alone and the cystic acne keeps coming back in the same places. I have to pay out of pocket at the dermatologist office and its getting so expensive. He gave me tretinoin cream, veltin, and a spray that smells like chlorine
  3. First off, I'm a 23 y/o Male with Combination/Sensitive/Acne Prone Skin. I've been using Dans 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide for just over a month and a half, once a day (at night) and it really works. It cleared my Acne like nothing within 4 days and within the first 2 weeks of using it, i only encountered one pimple that disappeared in 2 days and after that, not a single one. But since Thursday night (which is 2 days from now) I've run in to a problem where certain areas on my face like the right sid
  4. hello! i'll let know 1st that i've less or no idea about doing make-up. i use a sunscreen that my derma had prescribed.its MELAGARD 50+. It's got ZINC OXIDE alone with few other chemical blocks in it. as zno does,it leaves a slightly pale look. covered look. i have a concealer from AVON. AVON STICK CONCEALER. now, what i want to know is CAN I USE THE SUNSCREEN ALL OVER MY FACE AND THEN PUT THE CONCEALERS JUST ON MY POST-ACNE SPOTS/BLEMISHES ETC?? DO I NEED A POWDER/COMPACT/
  5. Hi there, I'm new to Acne.org and I am in desperate need of some answers. I am almost 30 years old, female, and I have had some sort of acne since I was 14, when I hit puberty. I've attached some pictures and to most people, it doesn't look like much. This is a good day. Most day I have red spots, inflamed bumps, and so many blackheads I don't think it would be exaggerating to say millions. I wash my face morning and night with 4-5 different products and creams, shower daily, have used every sin
  6. I am 18 years old, I live on the east coast, and until 6 months ago I NEVER had problems with acne. Well never is a strong word, it was very rare for me to even have a pimple, most of those times being around/during menstruation. My complexion was fine, and I only used water and a clean cloth to wash my face, which I figured was working since my skin was clear. About 6 months ago I moved out of my parents house and rented a room from a friend. Chain of events left us with no AC for about a month
  7. What's the difference between marks and blemishes? Pictures or links would be good.
  8. Hello everyone, this is the first time I have ever wrote on a forum so I don't now what response I will get xD. Anyway, I have suffered from spots since I was 11 and i'm currently 19 (20 in January); allthough my spots aren't really that bad they have flared up now and then over the past 8/9 years and it really pisses me off. Half the time when I was in school I would get yellow heads just spring up on me at awkward moments such as when I was giving presentations (maybe that part was due to stre
  9. I just wanted to write a brief history of my experience with acne before going into writing accutane blogs. I have had acne since I was nine years old. When I was younger it was only a few pimples but it got worse throughout middle school. It seemed to calm down in high school and college but I still never had clear skin. Now after graduating college it has all flared up again. When I was in middle school I used Retin-A and differin topical creams that were prescribed to me by my primary c
  10. Hello there! I promised myself that I'd write a blog post whenever I found something that 'worked' for me and gave me clear skin. Reading blogs on Acne.org really helped me find the products that worked best with my skin, so I wanted to tell my story in case it can help anyone else struggling with acne/breakouts. It took a lot (like, a LOT) of trial and error to get where I am now - so above all the one thing to take away from this blog post is don't give up. Ever! I know how crappy it feel
  11. Hello! I've been on my natural skin care mission for about 4 days now, so I thought I'd share some of my impressions on how it's going so far! I suppose I can't review the vitamins so much right now as I think they take some time to get working in your system, but I have also begun taking Vitamin D3 which after looking online seemed to be another effective acne solution. So as it stands I'm taking the recommended dosage for Vitamin A, E & D3 - though I can't speak for effectiveness
  12. Hey! So I'm almost 18 and have been suffering from "back acne" all throughout High School. Generally, I have relatively clear skin in my face (excluding that time of the month) however regardless of what medicine I am put on (saw a naturopath) and regardless of a clean diet, I still continue to get pimple on my back! It is not that bad, but the scarring and bigger "zits" are really starting to bother me. I have had a boyfriend for the past few months and this begins to make me really self conc
  13. I have this issue with acne scarring I'm very insecure about it I I really want some advice on the best treatments that you guys think you be good to fade these marks on my face, chest, and back.!!!
  14. Hey there guys! I know this topic must get posted a lot, but I just wanted to collect people's advice on fading acne blemishes. The Regimen appears to be working for me (less is more it seems!), and I have been using the Bravura London 15% Glycolic Acid Night Treatment every night, however I haven't seen any improvement as of yet, and it does sting the face a little when I put it on, so I'm worried it irritates my skin more than improves it. My skin is very sensitive, and although the acne has p
  15. Hi there. So ive had mild acne for a year or two now and recently ive been using Tazorac 0.05%. Ive only used this cream TWICE. Each three days apart. And my skin is flaking, etc. SO. I wanna get off it and get a chemical peel instead. How long do I have to wait to get a chemical peel?
  16. Hi, I just joined acne.org's forum in hope that I might be able to receive some advice about my acne situation. I am a teenager and have been experiencing acne for the past 2-3 years. I admit that my acne is not as bad as it could be, but it really bothers me constantly. I have many blackheads on my nose/cheeks as well as whiteheads all over my face. I usually get a pimple a week, sometimes more than one. I have some acne on my chest and some whiteheads on my back (with an occasional pimple
  17. Hello all I'm new here. I've been having alot of issues lately, when i was younger i had very bad Acne, through birth control and the use of Garnier i managed to control my skin after a while, but this lasted for about a year. I am now 21 and the acne has made a fierce comback I have alot of white heads and pimples, particularly down the sides of my face. I have picked alot and i know i'm not supposed to, but now this has left the area's red, as well as my cheeks, i suffer terribly from
  18. Hey guys, So I'm brand new to this website and I have a question regarding my acne and what i should do. So a little about me, my name is Dominick and I am 20 years old. I have been suffering from severe acne for most of my life. I had severe acne on my face for many years until I found a gift from the heavens called isolaz treatments. If you are unfamiliar with this, It's a laser treatment where you go to a place that does it and they basically put creams on your face along with the laser. This
  19. Hello everyone, I would like to share with you a couple of ideas about acne and skin healing. Here’s the thing: There is much talk about the emotional side-affects of acne which can leave visible scars not only on the surface of the skin, but on the soul as well. However, what I have come to realize after my 15-year long struggle with acne, is that our emotions are not a result of acne, but rather a direct cause of skin breakouts. After much reading and studying, I have come to a conclusion t
  20. Hiya, it's your girl checking in again hahaha So my skin's pretty much on the road to recovery but then BAMM a few bumps started popping up because it's that time of the month again. Oh, I'm a 21 year old female who has combination skin. I can't seem to have clear skin because this cycle will repeat: road to clear skin > hormonal acne comes > hormonal acne goes but leaves a few bumps and fading marks > repeat. So I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there with any sol
  21. Hey Everyone, I decided - after a few failed attempts with other methods - to start the regime. I will be using drugstore products that I will list below. I'm starting this blog so that anyone reading can share their experience with the regime or good drugstore products I might not have listed. I'd also love to hear any tips and tricks you might have in approaching treatment. About 3 years ago I ordered Dan's products, which are awesome. Great price, large quantities, and for the most
  22. I get few pimples and couple Whiteheads, some blackheads on nose, but I get cysts around my eyes and nose and under my neck, most aren’t noticeable but I can feel them..... I have red blemishes too
  23. Fuller's Earth, also known as Multani Mitti in Hindi, is a clay or soil substance which is popular and well utilised in parts of South Asia due to its powerful healing properties against acne and blemishes. Fuller's Earth contains magnesium chloride which helps reduce acne by cleansing the pores of any dirt 'debris' and bacteria. Multani Mitti is a less common source of cleaning the face of impurities. This is due to the geographical location which it is found at - Pakistan. The most of amaz

    Epiduo Week 1

I just went to a new derm a week ago and she prescribed me Epiduo. Everyday I wash with Loreal sensitive skin, non-medicated wash and at night I apply a pea sized amount of Epiduo. I have Ulcerative Colitis so unfortunately I am unable to take any oral meds because of the condition of my UC. Before I started Epiduo my entire face was broken out. There was not a even a spot on my face that was clear. I didn't have but like 2 or three cystic pimples. The rest were clogged pores, like little ti
  25. I am gluten intolerant, anemic/have nutrient malaborption etc. I am a recovering sugar addict as I was starting to get some serious hypoglycemic issues.. I also have dermatilamania so I've picked every pimple I've ever gotten, I also pick it a further 10 times until it scars.. not that I want it to, it's an OCD thing. Does anybody have any advice for blemishes? Should I use the regime for these? I have dry scars/brown spots. Also, sometimes my skin goes completely clear! but when it is irritat
