  1. Hiya, it's your girl checking in again hahaha So my skin's pretty much on the road to recovery but then BAMM a few bumps started popping up because it's that time of the month again. Oh, I'm a 21 year old female who has combination skin. I can't seem to have clear skin because this cycle will repeat: road to clear skin > hormonal acne comes > hormonal acne goes but leaves a few bumps and fading marks > repeat. So I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there with any sol

  5. I have always had clean skin until April of this year that I started getting cystic acne. I don't know what's causing it I just know that I have tried so many things and none of them work. I went to the dermatologists who's injected me with about 8 cortisone shots this year alone and the cystic acne keeps coming back in the same places. I have to pay out of pocket at the dermatologist office and its getting so expensive. He gave me tretinoin cream, veltin, and a spray that smells like chlorine
  6. I started Accutane 20MG a day over a week ago (mostly for my body acne) and I was just wondering if it'll clear blemishes/marks left by previous acne on my arms and neck. I have heard that it'll go over time but it's actually been a few months like this and I see no sign of them going. Thanks.
  7. First off, I'm a 23 y/o Male with Combination/Sensitive/Acne Prone Skin. I've been using Dans 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide for just over a month and a half, once a day (at night) and it really works. It cleared my Acne like nothing within 4 days and within the first 2 weeks of using it, i only encountered one pimple that disappeared in 2 days and after that, not a single one. But since Thursday night (which is 2 days from now) I've run in to a problem where certain areas on my face like the right sid

  11. I just wanted to write a brief history of my experience with acne before going into writing accutane blogs. I have had acne since I was nine years old. When I was younger it was only a few pimples but it got worse throughout middle school. It seemed to calm down in high school and college but I still never had clear skin. Now after graduating college it has all flared up again. When I was in middle school I used Retin-A and differin topical creams that were prescribed to me by my primary c
  12. Dear acne sufferers, If you haven't already tried taking a zinc supplement for your acne, then you must start now! Here's why: * There is a summary at the bottom of this post for those who don't want to read the whole thing. I have suffered with acne for years. Not severe acne, fortunately, but with moderate acne that just never seemed to respond to any form of treatment. Trust me, I've tried it all (except for Accutane). It nearly makes me sick to my stomach to think about the exorbita
  13. Hey everyone. So I usually don't post on these things, but I need to seek some advice at this point. I'm 19 and I struggle with cystic acne. I currently use a medication prescribed by my dermatologist, which works okay, but it's definitely not getting rid of the marks and dark spots that are left over from the pimples. I'm trying out this Neosporin Johnson's cream that I've heard some positive things about. Been trying it for a week now, but it seems like some of these dark spots aren't fad

  15. Hey guys, So I'm brand new to this website and I have a question regarding my acne and what i should do. So a little about me, my name is Dominick and I am 20 years old. I have been suffering from severe acne for most of my life. I had severe acne on my face for many years until I found a gift from the heavens called isolaz treatments. If you are unfamiliar with this, It's a laser treatment where you go to a place that does it and they basically put creams on your face along with the laser. This
  16. Hi, I'm a 15 year old girl who has had acne since I was in grade 4. For the first 1-2 years, I just had it on my forehead and now it's cleared up. But from the sixth grade till the present day, I've had to deal with Acne on my cheeks, both cheeks. People say that my acne is considered mild, but to me, I just find it absolutely disgusting and horrible. If it were just pimples I had to deal with then I think it wouldn't look as bad, but I have scars and blemishes and overall it looks terrible
  17. Fuller's Earth, also known as Multani Mitti in Hindi, is a clay or soil substance which is popular and well utilised in parts of South Asia due to its powerful healing properties against acne and blemishes. Fuller's Earth contains magnesium chloride which helps reduce acne by cleansing the pores of any dirt 'debris' and bacteria. Multani Mitti is a less common source of cleaning the face of impurities. This is due to the geographical location which it is found at - Pakistan. The most of amaz
  18. Hello there! I promised myself that I'd write a blog post whenever I found something that 'worked' for me and gave me clear skin. Reading blogs on Acne.org really helped me find the products that worked best with my skin, so I wanted to tell my story in case it can help anyone else struggling with acne/breakouts. It took a lot (like, a LOT) of trial and error to get where I am now - so above all the one thing to take away from this blog post is don't give up. Ever! I know how crappy it feel
  19. Hello everyone, I would like to share with you a couple of ideas about acne and skin healing. Here’s the thing: There is much talk about the emotional side-affects of acne which can leave visible scars not only on the surface of the skin, but on the soul as well. However, what I have come to realize after my 15-year long struggle with acne, is that our emotions are not a result of acne, but rather a direct cause of skin breakouts. After much reading and studying, I have come to a conclusion t
  20. I am gluten intolerant, anemic/have nutrient malaborption etc. I am a recovering sugar addict as I was starting to get some serious hypoglycemic issues.. I also have dermatilamania so I've picked every pimple I've ever gotten, I also pick it a further 10 times until it scars.. not that I want it to, it's an OCD thing. Does anybody have any advice for blemishes? Should I use the regime for these? I have dry scars/brown spots. Also, sometimes my skin goes completely clear! but when it is irritat
  21. I'm about to start month FIVE out of six on accutane, and my face still looks awful. Dry patches all over my face. Awfully chapped lips. Tired ALL THE TIME. It's mostly just red little scabby things but they have been there for EVER. Like literally at least 2-3 weeks... Why isn't my skin better??? That's my biggest concern and fear.... I use coconut oil on my skin in the shower, and neutrogena oil free moisturizer... Neutrogena make up remover wipes on my skin.,. Is any if this making it worse
  22. Hi there, I'm new to Acne.org and I am in desperate need of some answers. I am almost 30 years old, female, and I have had some sort of acne since I was 14, when I hit puberty. I've attached some pictures and to most people, it doesn't look like much. This is a good day. Most day I have red spots, inflamed bumps, and so many blackheads I don't think it would be exaggerating to say millions. I wash my face morning and night with 4-5 different products and creams, shower daily, have used every sin
  23. I came across on e bay many face creams/gels that contain snail mucus. It is said that snail mucus is highly rejuvenating for damaged skin, yet not irritating. It is not considered as comedogenic and i wonder if a cream like that might be effective on scars. Anyone tried a cream like this? Also, i noticed that most of those creams are shipped from asian countries. I assume that their usage is more popular there. So, do you asian friends know something more about their effectiveness?

    Epiduo Week 1

I just went to a new derm a week ago and she prescribed me Epiduo. Everyday I wash with Loreal sensitive skin, non-medicated wash and at night I apply a pea sized amount of Epiduo. I have Ulcerative Colitis so unfortunately I am unable to take any oral meds because of the condition of my UC. Before I started Epiduo my entire face was broken out. There was not a even a spot on my face that was clear. I didn't have but like 2 or three cystic pimples. The rest were clogged pores, like little ti
  25. I am kind of bummed because I am on spring break from college right now. I am hiding in my apartment because of how bad my skin looks. I am too embarrased for my friends to see how bad my skin looks without makeup....so no pool time or beach time for me this spring break. So I finally decided to go to a new dermatologist last Thursday. My last one kept prescribing me stuff that either dried my skin out too much, burned it or gave me a allergic reaction. I went through loads of prescription
