  1. About 5 days ago, I began using a benzoyl peroxide face wash from Kasier Permanente at the advice of my dermatologist. Other reviews say that bp face washes cleared up their skin almost within a week but I don't see any results yet (although, I will keep using it for a few more weeks since everyone has different skin types). I've only been using washing with it for 30 seconds a day and using a lotion (Johnson&Johnson) or sunscreen after, but it seems that it might be worsening my acne. I mai
  2. Hi, So its almost been 2 years since I last posted on Acne.org and kind of feel that I owe the community something after it helped me so much in my time of need. First off my name is Tim and in January 2010 i started a years course of accutane finishing this January gone (2011). My dosage at first was 20mg which then rose to 60/80mg then gradually back down towards the end of my treatment. I found life on accutane very, very hard. The drug is a BITCH, but at times we need a bitch to put us
  3. From the album: My Claravis Journey.

ok i haven't posted in a while, but here i am! It's day 75 today. My current dose is 70 mg a day, one 40 mg at night, one 30 mg in the morning. I also take B-complex vitamins. Most of the redness are acne scars. There are very little current pimples. I'm so satisfied with my results. It's only been a couple months and my acne is quickly saying its farewell. I wear a very thin layer of neutrogena shine control make up to cover up my acne scars and to protect my skin from the sun because it does h
  4. Okay, so I used to check out this site all the time, desperately looking for something to help. I found the cure to my acne, it took almost 10 years but I found it. I feel like I owe it to this site to post it for the rest of you, maybe this will help someone. A little background, I'm female in my early 20s. I had absolutely terrible skin as a teenager, went on birth control and it helped a bit, but my skin never really cleared up. By university I was getting a zit a week or so, pretty big o
  5. hello! i'm not sure if anyone else has this question in mind but i am in serious confusion! there are people who say white rice is poison and others who stress on a gluten-free diet. if one had to choose, which one would you choose? going by logic , white rice is bad for it raises the insulin level(sudden spike) ..for it's got high GI.whereas gluten is said to be inflammatory. so,what do u think?which one is (let's say) less harmful(or safer to carry on with)?? (my story : i have
  6. Should You Wash Your Skin with Hot or Cold Water?

Many people wonder whether they should wash their skin with hot or cold water and which is better for acne. Let's take a look at the available evidence. From what you'll see, it is probably best to avoid very hot water when washing but warm or cool water is most likely fine. A few isolated studies suggest exposing the skin to heat above 42°C (107.6° F) has effects such as drying the skin, increasing sebum (skin...
  7. Hey guys, Hello, hi. I'm about to start my fifth month on Accutane. What would you say, based on the photos, is it a good station to be at, or should I be worried that this medicine shan't work for me? I'm just so lost, seeing all those people who make an impressive change by the end of month 3. (Oh, and my journey has been so difficult even so far. It's definitely ups and downs. 3 weeks ago my face was almost the same as it is now, however, a damned breakout came, and it got
  8. So December 2013 I walzed into my uncoopertive doctor's office with a totally non-acne related problem. Just as my doctor was about to leave me she looked at me and said "Have you ever done anything about your acne?" Of course I go into a 10 minute detailed list of allllll the things I have tried since 2009. She merely looked at me, ignored everything I said, and said "Have you tried Benzoyl Peroxide?" Of course it ticked me off a bit because I mentioned it threeeeeee times in my list of medicat
  9. From the album: HAPPY HAPPY!!

Oh yeah~ i can see the different!
  10. This is my first time v-blogging on this website! I've read many articles but I never thought about joining you guys!! I'm gonna try to keep it short but make sure to mention everything... I'm 19 years old and I have a semi-sensitive and oily skin. I have suffered from mild to severe acne and whiteheads since 13. During my middle school, I used a lot chemical products to clear my skin and none worked at all. Starting high school I fell in love with natural remedies so I started trying dif
  11. From the album: My Skin

Can't believe how great this new routine is working, & how FAST! If you want your blemishes to clear quickly, try beta carotene. I've never seen my pimples go away so fast. This is only the 3rd day since I began using this treatment. Very happy & surprised by the results so far! I am also limiting my dairy but I think the beta carotene is having a greater impact. Both are probably beneficial, however. Also, NO NEW BREAKOUTS are forming. How fantastic!!! Feeling blessed!
  12. Hi i'm taking two 30mg pills of accutane a day, so i'm assuming that means i'm taking 60mg total. Anyways, I'm into month two of treatment and my results keep changing. When I first started my acne got horrible, but then by the end of the first month it started slowly getting better. Now it will be almost gone one week, and then come back with some whiteheads and big red pimples. It has been switching on and off the past few weeks. Is this normal? When can I expect it to just stop and the acne j
