  1. i just had a gp appointment and my doctor told me that benzoyl peroxide above a value of 3% will only lead you to suffer the side effects, eg) dryness and redness. he said the sweet spot for treating acne with bp is 3%. he said anything below is too little and anything above is too harsh. please read this and action it, i can confirm that the 3% has been vastly more effective to me than the previous 5% i was using.
  2. Hi. Does anyone know if acne.org ships to the Caribbean and what would be the cost?
  3. Ive never made a blogpost before, but i thought i really needed to write this down. Ive used the regimen for 2+ years i think. Ive been struggling with acne for 7 years since i was 10 years old. My acne is really on the surface and not really cystic what makes me 'lucky' i guess. But i do have severe acne, it is literally everywhere. And mostly whiteheads. But the regimen worked great for me for about a year. After that my acne slowly came back. I kept using it because of course i wanted it to
  4. Hey! I've been using the BP as spot treatment. The spots where i apply it are clear again, but with a price; my face is tomato red and peeling! Everytime i go without makeup, people ask if im sunburnt. If i wear makeup to cover up the redness, my peeling is even more noticeable and looks worse. Can you guys recommend something to get rid of this redness and peeling? I dont want to stop the BP, it's too good for my skin. It is 10% though, so should i go to a lower %? What should i do for redness?
  5. Hello. I ran out of Benzoyl Peroxide and my next shipment of benzoyl peroxide wont be in until Tuesday. Should i use a facewash? My face is pretty clear.
  6. Hello everybody, just someting I wanted to share with you guys because it might help someone else in the future: I've been reading these boards throughout the years because just like most of you I have had pretty serious acne since I was 14 or something. Now 26. I've been on all sorts of medications (accutane 3 times) but eventually, around my 18th birthday I discovered Dan's regimen and it worked wonders for me. I have been following it ever since. Never experienced bad scaling or redness or
  7. Hey, I always read lots of reviews on here before trying products so I wanted to let you guys know what seems to be working for me!My morning and night routine are the same:NO MAKE-UP WIPES OR MAKE-UP REMOVERWash face in a soft circular motion with 'Simple kind to skin refreshing facial wash gel' until all make-up is gone.Gently pat dry.Wipe face gently with a 'Nip+Fab glycolic fix daily cleansing pad.'Wait for 5 minutes.Apply a thin layer of 'Acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide gel.'Wait for 15 minute
  8. Some background information would be good I guess. I started using benzoylperoxide (BP as it's called in America etc I believe) about a week ago, together with some antibiotics to get rid of my acne. Benzoylperoxide has dried my skin out really badly, to the point that it flaked. It happend at school and a few of my friends commented on it, asking me if I was burnt or whatever. So when I got home I scraped most of the dead skin off. Skin is quite a bit softer now, I also started using a
  9. So I don't know if I have cystic acne or what the hell it is but now it's only in the area under my lips like on the left and side of my chin and it's been there for about 2 years now. I think it's just that for some reason that certain area won't let my damn facial hair come through. I'll get a pimple, 2 or 3 and tell myself okay once these go away I'll be fine and clear and then I literally get a new one as soon as they go away it's pretty interesting. I take doxycycline, which my idiot doctor
  10. Disclaimer - This may not work for everyone, but I have been suffering from hormonal acne for about 20 years now and have FINALLY managed to clear my skin, so I wanted to share with people what has worked for me in the hopes that it might help someone out there struggling with the same problem. Also important to note this is not an ad or a link to some product. This is knowledge that I pieced together over the course of 20 years of suffering from adult hormonal acne. And I tried EVERYTHING
  11. Hi guys! I was wondering how long it takes for benzoylperoxide or Differin to do their jobs. I usually wait about an hour before I apply moisturizer on top of benzoylperoxide but that's kinda inconvenient in the morning. Also, I want to start using rose hip seed oil and I figured I could apply it at night after the Differin.
  12. I just found out that ordering BP outside EU is restricted in my country (Finland) and acne.org's BP is prohibited. In Finland there's only 5% BP available, which is a little too strong for my skin. Is there any website in EU that I could order 2.5% BP from?
  13. I’m a 37 year old with hormonal cystic acne. I used the regimen for 6 years and it worked wonders. But I decided it was time to quit. Plus I read you shouldn’t use Benzoyl Peroxide if your pregnant and I’m planning on trying to get pregnant soon. Since I’m aware you can’t just stop using it, I started a long journey of reducing the amount of product I use. First of all I must say I only used it on my chin, which is the only part of my face that’s affected. I got used to using two di
  14. I have been using the acne.org bp along with my own wash and a prescription rentinol treninoin for the past month. My skin is definitely better in terms of breakouts but it’s gotten so red. I’ve been using the bp during the day and the treninoin at night. I think what’s really irritating my skin is the amount of bp it says to slather on it seems like way too much. Do you really need that much bp? I’m 26 I really don’t want to be overdrying my skin but I’m not sure if it will be as effective in s
  15. I'm just keeping a log of what i've been using so far for my own purpose and if anyone else has had experience with the same regimen. Started a having a few tiny bumps on my face about 4 weeks ago, increased in number and severity on my cheeks and became a full blown red, angry, inflamed painful pustules, papules, some that would have a head all just on my cheeks and around my mouth. Saw a dermatologist a week ago and was prescribed Doxy + Retin-A. Was already using Retin-A prior to that for
  16. Hi guys , Writing a blog about my acne in order to help myself record my skin's habbits, and to help other acne sufferers has always something I've wanted to do. I don't know why it has taken me 10+ years of suffering with acne to finally get round to it, but I am here now. Like I just mentioned, I have lived with on-off mild/moderate acne for 10+ years. My earliest memory of having bad skin was when I started secondary school, I remember I had to get a photograph taken to renew my passport and
  17. It is my first time using the regimen. I know i have to use the benzoyl 1x on first week.but do i use it in the mornjng or nights only.i hope someone answers asap
  18. Some background - I had a pretty bad breakout and so I stupidly ordered some benzoyl peroxide 10%!! Online, I had no idea that it came in lower percentages and figured 10% was fine, I smothered it onto the spot areas and as you can imagine the results were pretty horrific my skin peeled was bright red and the spots are only just fading now as a result. I am down to only a few spots with lymecylin antibiotic and my face is looking pretty clear BUT the day after I applied the BP one side of my che
  19. Hello, I am a user of BP for about 5 years, and it has done me wonders, like it has to other people. I am asian, have combination skin, and my acne started when I was 14 and is still under-going. When I don't use BP, my face starts breaking out, which makes me think that I will have to deal with life-time acne, which drives me crazy sometimes, but I learnt to deal with it. Anyways, the problem is, I purchase from Korea, and If I buy 8 oz, I can probably use only 1.5 - 2 weeks. The reaso
  20. Hi all, this is my first time joining acne.org and this is my first posting. So over the past 5 years I have had a clear skin and didnt have any problem with acne while still using light benzoyl peroxide regularly every night. And then a month ago I ran out of that and have to wait for the order to be delivered. As I was waiting for my order my face was slowly getting new pimples everyday. Finally 2 weeks ago I got the product and applied it right away. The first week I didnt seem to have
  21. Hello, So I have started using the acne.org regimen and I'm seeing slow but progressive improvements! I live in the U.K and the product is very expensive to get shipped all the way from San Francisco! Can anyone who lives in the U.K give me any recommendations on where I can buy things like 2.5% benzoyl peroxide or the 10% glycolic acid? I'm pretty sure I can get them somewhere but don't know where to shop for them. Any recommendations are welcome!!
  22. Hi! i used the acne.org regimen for about two years up until 3 months ago. Now my acne has returned with vengeance (because of an insane dermatologist I went to, and I guess because I stopped using the products made it worse). Anyway, i’ve Been re-using the regimen for 8 days now, and have just started using a generous pea-sized amount twice a day as of last night. I expected to see some irritation and flakiness by now.. but nothing! Is this normal?

  24. Hi. I am 23 yo female. My skin type is oily acne prone skin. This is my story about 3 years ago. So about 3 years ago I suffered with hormonal acne that was really bad. My face full of acne that usually come with pus. But like almost every hormonal acne, I got the most acne along my jawline and they are hurts and itchy. I got acne cyst that was really painful on my chin too. This made me cry sometimes because how bad it is. So I tried every acne treatment that I could because I don't want
  25. Hi, I'm am using BP to control my acne last couple of months/half a year. I only apply BP before going to bed. However, I can't use moisturizer when I have BP on my face, because my face is pretty dry after washing it. So every night I first wash my face with a cleanser and than I use directly BP. The next morning I apply moisturizer but sometimes I have to apply pretty much moisturizer because my face is so dry. Can to much moisturizer cause breakouts? Or is there any other way to use my moi
